Visited this place last Thursday. The server at first seemed rude but ended up being nice. She did push "opening a tab" before we could even open the menus. The beer selection was good, however the samples brought out to try, had a plastic aftertaste and were warm. The beer I ended up ordering was not cold enough which can make people sick,and it also had a plastic aftertaste. Was hoping for fresher food options, but the food tasted like bowling alley food. Later during our visit a middle aged lady with bottle blond hair and a dark complexion came in, who Im assuming was the manager. She looked unfriendly and was staring everyone down which made me very uncomfortable . The womens restroom needed attention, the toilet was old out dated and looks like it needed a deep cleaning, and the seat was tagged on. Dont think I will be returning

Cool dive bar, though not the place for a super late night, they are open til 2 but last call is at 1:15 sadly. Wish we knew before coming. Beer selection is pretty huge tho! Edit: We havent even left yet and already Im editing this from 4 stars to 1. We ordered the house red. It was GARBAGE. My guest ordered it and tried thier best to take it down , after noticing the face she was making I tried it and went outside to spit it out. Im not exaggerating. We told the waitress (the tab says her name is Gladys) without consulting management or anyone she said she couldnt do anything about the putrid beer. Poor form, a house beer and perhaps the worst Ive ever tried and the customer service to match. Wont be back. Stay away fellow googlers.

Wide selection of beer...they will give you a taste of beer if you are not sure about your selection. Food is great for sport bar. Bartender had some good recommendations for type of beer I might like based on what Im drinking..ive never had a problem with manager. Any problem Ive had in the past she addressed my concern..when my bro comes into town he wants us to visit this spot. Also jukebox has wide selection of music.. we always find what we like..thumbs up for this place

Cool place to hang out & have a few drinks. Music in the back ground, 42" TV playing sports in front you, a plate of steak fries with a 16oz House Blonde. ....wow. yeah, you better believe Im going back. One draw back, the restrooms. Theres only one restroom for ladies & one restroom for men. Theres usually a line to use the restrooms. Happy trails, dont drink & drive! South Gate is really strick on drunk drivers, as they should. ( we Uber )

I truly hate this place. The old lady manager has a bad temper and is a stingy witch. She served me a flat beer and she denied my request to change it for a non-flat beer. Another day i ordered a ceasar salad, and she gave me a plate of lettuce with "ranch" ... Again rejected my request to change for what i actually ordered. never again. I go to WING HOUSE now, just arround the block. Great service, and no old stingy hags.

Been there twice, and it was the same experience both times... bartenders are nice, BUT, food is nasty, beer tastes old and flat, and the biggest problem there is the owners daughter, she is very rude, we asked for something and she literally told us if we didnt like it we can leave! Unacceptable! Never going back!

Televisions all around, good view from any deaf. Great atmosphere and staff. Big portions of food for a cheap price. I come here for every ppv, once a month, and its always a good time. Bouncer and staff Are really chill & make the place friendly. Highly recommend

I enjoyed it here. Atmosphere is awesome. Wide selection of Beers are on tap. Bartender are super attentively to your need. Food selection is also great. Prices are reasonable. Not expensive. But that always Depends on what your drink.

Sister bar to Downey brewery. Although not as lively as Downey Brewery, this place has tons of beers on tap and wide options of your choice of mixed drinks. They dont serve the classic "old fashioned."
