Ive dined at The Red Grape a half a dozen times. Their pizza is delicious and their pasta noodles are truly something. That being said, of my 6 dining experience at The Red Grape two have been BAD! Im very specific with waiters about what I am ordering. Im a vegan. On one occasion, I was served a pizza with large anchovies all over it instead of eggplant. On a second occasion, my pasta was covered with cheese. In both instances, I had been very specific with what I did and did not want on my pizza and pasta, and either the waiter failed to communicate this properly, or the cook ignored the instructions. The waiter was very apologetic about the anchovies, but failed to offer a complimentary replacement, which would have been appropriate in order to make our party feel taken care of after waiting for an hour to eat. But in the second instance, with the cheese-laden pasta, I believe it was the business owner we were dealing with, and he was not polite when we returned our order. He heaved a big sigh and his attitude seemed to be that he should charge us double for having to cook us a second dish of cheese-free pasta. We were pretty astonished by this attitude, when it was his staff that had made the mistake. Really, making your customers feel as though theyre to blame for the sake of venting your frustration is hardly going to be worth the few pennies you might save in not replacing a meal. He did replace the pasta for us, but it was done with a bad grace and that was the last time we ate at The Red Grape. Its a pity, because their food is good but they lack sympathy and care in taking care of vegetarian patrons, so we dont recommend them to friends anymore.

My wife and I have been to The Red Grape many times over the last 10 years. The food &service has always been excellent in fact on a few occaisions the owner came by our table for a chat after recognizing us as regulars. On our last visit something had gone terribly wrong. My favorite dish, the Margherita Pizza, went from fresh tomatoes, fresh mozz, extra virgin olive oil and basil to canned tomatoes, regular grated mozz and no basil or xvoo. The wait staff was all new people who hurried us along but that was okay with us for we were only to happey to oblige them. I hope some one out there can inform us as to what happened to the wonderful resteraunt we once knew.

Every year I come to Red Grape and have pizza to celebrate my birthday...I love LOVE the super thin crust, the excellent pepperoni, mushroom and black olive. We ALWAYS feel happy here, welcome and comfortable. Our granddaughters still color the kids menus even though they are 12 and 15 now...ok, yes, we do too! The courtyard is wonderful and the salads and other entrees are plentiful and delish. People of all ages really respond to this great place. Come and see!

Careful all you out of towners, dont stumble in here expecting to find some trendy Uber California cuisine oh so cute cafe. This is hearty solid food at great prices. From salads to burgers to pizza its all good. But then there is greatness in the former of truffle onion rings. You heard me right, truffle onion rings. They arrive at the table piled high on a plate and moments later they have magically disappeared. Oh yeah they are that good.

This restaurant is one of the best italian restaurants in the area. We had lunch and dinner here. We had pizza and onion rings for lunch, and bruschetta and pasta for dinner. We were satisfied both times. They seriously have amazing food. And the service is amazing ad well. We will definitely come back here if we are in the area. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy such delicious food and service.

Second or third visit, this time inside: kind of a cold and sterile feel. Not very nice service when I remembered after I ordered to request dressing on the side. Was told "sorry, its just been mixed up" which was really shortly after wed ordered. This was just a side green salad so I thought for the prices, that giving me a new one wouldnt be unreasonable, but I didnt press. Wine was good...

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to carbo-load during your next trip to Sonoma, look no further. The Red Grape is BYO, so make use of the wine you just purchased from the vineyards and order a pizza or pasta to soak up the alcohol. The interior has a 1950’s diner vibe, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Sometimes it’s nice to avoid the price tag of a well-known place!

Went there today with my 88 year old mother-in-law... she lives nearby and loves it. I ordered a BLT. Best, best BLT Ive ever had in a restaurant! I do make them at home. Thick, meaty... crispy bacon and lots of it on a thin, tasty blanket of sourdough bread. I chose the house salad as my side. Fantastic. Price... 9 bucks. Ill be back...

I hate nothing more than when a restaurant (even when empty) place a family with young children in the back of the restaurant, next to the wait station and bathrooms! The food was average, the service poor. We had to ask them to add a few additional pieces of chicken to my daughters plate...it was all fries!

We ordered "the works" as a takeout pizza and were thoroughly pleased with the result. It was ready in ~10 minutes and they didnt skimp on the toppings. They also used quality ingredients. A great meal that we enjoyed back at our resort with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Outstanding patio, great location, super food but disinterested service. The servers were not rude but you felt processed and it appeared that they just wanted to turn the table over for the next client. Much too eager to clean your plate.

Best caesar salad Ive had in years - could even see bits of the anchovies. Fresh and generous, plus tasty (non-processed) chicken breast meat. Cant wait to go back and experience the other interesting options Ive read so much about!!

I live this place. The food is good but its the beautiful outdoor patio that always brings me back. Wait staff is average and could use a little polish as this is not a round table pizza joint but it wont stop me from being a regular.

My husband and I grabbed a pizza (The Works) to go. It was prepared quickly and good for a light lunch for two. The meat was great and the peppers were fresh. The pizza is thin crust and crunchy but the topping choices are delicious.

this place is more than just a pizza parlor. They have great salads and other entree dishes. The restaurant is clean and modern. Service is better than expected. Prices are reasonable especially for a tourist area.

Great place for a pizza and a bottle of wine. I usually sit on the patio. The inside is usually overrun with kids. Pizza is hard to find in Sonoma, but this is the best by far. Great thin crust with fresh toppings.
