This was referred to us by our hotel/spa. We got seated quickly as staff was nice. Had the shrimp and grits and pork belly appetizers. Staff and shrimp and grits got them any stars from me. Otherwise I would have loved to give negative stars. The pork belly was covered with something very similar to BBQ sauce which took all the flavor away. If I wanted BBQ we would have gone to a different spot. Then the main meal comes. I had the chicken linguine pasta and wife had the paella. Pasta dish was very bland and unseasoned. As if it was made for a nursing home with seasoning or salt restrictions. The paella was even worst. I think they tried to reheat an old dish because the rice at the top was so crunchy you could hear the crunch when you ate. The dish was very bland and the seafood tasted/smelled as if it had turned. The manager was kind to offer replacement meals and took the bad ones off our bill but we didnt want to risk getting food poisoning so we left. After spending $40 just fit appetizers we were annoyed as just cant ever see returning. All I can say is maybe the chef had a bad night or maybe not. Just know youre taking a risk eating there.

We came to El Dorado because it was recommended to us, but I must say it was very disappointing overall. The service was outrageous. We ordered a carafe of Sirah that seemed very off, so we wanted to ask the sommelier for his opinion, but all he did was recommend us getting a different kind of wine as apparently we werent really up for his Sirah. When he finally came up with a new carafe that he poured from another bottle (which was a lot better then), he didnt apologise once, but made us feel as if were being really difficult guests. The waitress never checked in with us during the meal but instead brought us the check when we were still only half way through our $42 carafe of wine. Both of us ordered the steak - one of us went for a medium/rare, one of us for a medium. The waitress bringing the food didnt really know which steak was which, but in the end it turned out that it really didnt matter as both steaks were rare anyway. We spent $130 in total for the two of us, which was supposed to be a treat, but it just ended up being a huge disappointment. The food & wine were really nice and of great quality, but I wouldnt go back here again.

Food was nice, service was unfortunately worse than at a fast food chain...rarely give bad and low star reviews but I havent experienced so poor service all year long. We spent $130 for 2 which is OK considering it is one of the nicer restaurants in Sonoma. It was suppose to be a treat for the two of us but the 2 waiters we had prohibited we could enjoy our visit by being rude, letting us wait for extraordinary long times and when we made them aware that the bottle of wine we ordered tasted corked made us feel as we were unreasonable... Even we were super nice, as this can happen though shouldnt...

My boyfriend and I stopped in here late Sunday night to satisfy a sweet tooth (so this review is only relevant to dessert). The restaurant was pretty empty as it was near closing time, but our server was patient and nice. We started out picking 3 cheeses for our cheese plate, along with a carafe of wine. No complaints there. Next, we had the gooey chocolate cake and WOW, that was incredible! Perfectly cooked, with warm chocolate goodness oozing out as you cut into it. It was served with a few scoops of ice cream. Must order if you love chocolate!

We had a late lunch and it was not busy but the service was very poor. Dont expect a soda refill with your meal, let alone a drink before your meal arrives. They must have been low on ketchup because we had to ask 3 times. Wine came nearly at the end of our lunch. The appetizers; egg pizza, onion pizza and truffle fries were overall very good. However, the Reuben sandwich was very dry. You also have to ask for appetizer plates because they wont bring it out to you. If you have a lot of time and are patient with poor service, this is your place.

We had never been to Sonoma, and definitely made the right choice for a hotel. Its right on the Sonoma town square, and is by far the coolest place to stay in Sonoma. If you are a resort person this is not for you, but if you appreciate style and small, stylish boutique hotels you wont be disappointed. The front desk was also very helpful when it came to suggesting wineries and restaurants. They also shared free winery passes with us which was unexpected and really great. When we go back to Sonoma there is no doubt this is where we will be staying!

Food was alright but not spectacular. Someone went overboard on the "branding" - EDK was on everything including the butter. The service, unfortunately, was horrible. The wait staff have mastered the art of only looking at their own tables and not noticing anything else. We sat at an outside table for 15 minutes after being seated and waited for water, a waiter, some recognition at all. Trying to politely get the attention of 2 waiters who were serving 2 tables each (it was not busy) failed. There are many better choices in Sonoma.

Amazing. Thats the only word to describe this place. Doesnt seem like much when you first walk in. Wasnt packed but it was a weekday. Mimosa and latte were delicious. As well as the breakfast smoothie. Then we ordered: eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito, and valley breakfast. The eggs Benedict had a slight twist to the hollandaise sauce that was subtle but delicious. And the eggs were poached perfectly. I had the valley breakfast with over easy eggs and sausage. Amazing. Every bite just got better.

Had a great experience at El Dorado Kitchen for a late, long lunch. We came here after wine tasting, were seated quickly and had great service. The menu is simple and local and everything Ive had here is excellent. Being in Sonoma, the wine menu is excellent and extensive but dont count out the cocktails - they do a good job here too. A bit pricey but inline with what you get in terms of quality and experience. It does get crowded and loud in the dining room.

Soap not in room. Had to ask for it. Used towels left to remain on ground all around the pool area - all afternoon and into the night, even had to see this the next morning which is making me suspicious. Is this is just a bad day or the way this place works? Their web site looks better then it seems. The free internet does not work well at all.....not a hugh thing but all this together starts to add up.

This place is really special and best food so far in Sonoma this trip. Restaurant is energetic, but they dont rush you around. Cocktails at bar were delicious and great banter with bartender. Appetizers of shrimp grits, truffle fries were really good - interesting comfort food. Paella and pork tenderloin entres were high quality, beautifully prepared and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
