Yesterday my husband and I had a business luncheon at OLIVA. We were a party of eleven. I had gone in the week before and spoken with LUIGI, the manager, who suggested I return the day before the event to confirm the number of people in our party and to pre order the food. I returned the day before but LUIGI was "on a break" and I was tended to by our favorite waiter, DON. The following day my husband and I arrived at 2:45PM for our 3PM reservation expecting to be greeted by LUIGI but instead were greeted by DON. He is a WAITER who, apparently, wears the managers hat when LUIGI is unavailable. Our 90 minute meeting went well. After paying the check I asked DON if LUIGI was "still on a break." He said, "No, LUIGI is very busy in the office doing paperwork." Too busy to have come out for 5 minutes at 3PM to greet us and thank us for selecting OLIVA for this business luncheon?? Too busy to come out at 3:30PM to make sure that all is well? Too busy to come out at 4:15PM to ask how the food was, to inspire 10 other people to want to return to OLIVA, to ask how we all came to know of this great place?? Too busy to.............do what he is supposed to do as MANAGER?? His basic concern the day I arranged this event with him (January 22) was, "Is the person who is paying going to be in the party??" After he heard, "Yes," it is obvious that he passed the buck on any further interactions with us on to DON, the WAITER/MANAGER. DON made an attempt to get LUIGI out of the office as we were leaving in an attempt for LUIGI to redeem himself in our eyes. There was no point to that as LUIGI had already made a lasting impression on us. We will not let LUIGIS laid back manner of "managing" discourage us from returning because we know the food is great and DON is there to pick up LUIGIS slack..........Thank you.

Horrible FOOD. Horrible Customer Care!!! The worst restaurant experience ever in my life! We tried prosciutto pizza which was absolutely tasteless, seared tuna on top of salad which was so low quality you could taste the sea but not the tuna. And finally we got the lobster & jumbo shrimp pasta: it tasted very strange and gave me a heartburn after the first bite (maybe it was the effect of the bad tuna, not sure 100%). So we had to send it back! I tried one small piece of lobster and my Mom tried 2 small pieces. We both found it strange and disgusting. The waiter said the owner will approach our table and talk about the bad food. Well, it took the owner 35 minutes to do so! And not only he was not helpful but he was quite offensive. He said he tried our food and it was fine. He said that that dish is one of his favorites and something must be wrong with us for not liking it! He told us since we had eaten all the lobster (despicable lie) he is going to deduct only $10 off the check! This is my first bad review about ANY business. If I can save even 1 person from experiencing this horrible food and customer service with this review I would regret less the wasted time, unpleasant experience and heartburn and disappointment. P. S. When I asked why it took him 35 minutes to approach us he shamelessly said because his good customers were behind us and he didnt want them to know out our experience.

Went to this place last night for the first time and it was AMAZING! Service was so friendly and welcoming. It felt as if you stepped into the home of some real Italians. Accents abound... Menu was large with so many tempting choices. I ended up opting for the Seafood Pasta which came with 1/2 an entire Lobster and mussles and clams and calamari... I asked for it spicy and it was heaven in a bowl! My friends ordered Lasagna (theyve been here before) and a Truffle infused pasta of some sort. I tried both and they were spectacular. Im not just saying spectacular, they were off the charts full of flavor, the lasagna was like no other I have ever had before. so melt in your mouth outstanding! I started with Tomato soup which was very good, fresh, my friends got Burrata and shared it. Probably the freshest, most delicate Burrata that Ive ever had! I had a martini with an olive which was a delicious compliment to the seafood. Well, the server was so attentive and overheard we were there to celebrate my birthday and she actually brought a candle on my tiramisu which was really thoughtful considering we never mentioned it... The tiramisu was the BOMB! My friend shared the cheesecake which was also very good! This is my NEW FAVORITE Place!!! Ill be back!

dont go in large groups because they dont split checks. If you are a large group and need to split the check then do it by the base first and not include the tip put that separate. I had the piccata di pollo and it was about 18. sauce was watered down and couldnt really taste the lemon. chicken was ok but the middle had a hint of rawness, maybe because its a Saturday night. Also tried the penne salsiccia. it was about 15 and it was ok but had a little salty after taste. Wife took our 7m baby to the bathroom and she said the bathroom was disgusting, it was not a baby friendly bathroom (No changing table, u will have to do that in the car). The 3 stars are for people being friendly. service was good. They kept checking to see if we needed refills. Gave us lots of bread a couple of tines and didnt hold back on it. food was there was and warm.

Ive always enjoyed eating here but last week the waiter seemed to have a bit of an attitude. We were a party of 6 celebrating a birthday. I brought a cake from Ralphs and the host put it in the back until we were ready for it. We asked for bread and the waiter said he would bring it only after we ordered. Really? We enjoyed our dinner and when it was time for the cake he brought it to the table and we sang happy birthday. I asked for a knife to cut it and he offered to cut it for me . When we got our bill he charged us $1 per person fee for cutting it. Never once did anyone mention there would be a fee. I was very unhappy with the service.
