I had some time to kill and saw "ice cream" on the Barlow map. I was bombarded by questions when I walked in. I didnt know I needed help ordering ice cream but ok what? "have you been here before?" nope I just want some ice cream "well let me tell you how we do things here" "ok you dont just serve Ice CREAM?" "You start with your base......then add a flavor and you get one add-in" OMG.. ok they use Liquid Nitrogen to instantly freeze the milk and flavorings to make ice-cream. It tasted good but melted faster than normal. I dont know what the advantage is over regular ice cream other than its a gimmick. I would not go back. I also hated the Barlow. FAKE old timey warehouse district.

First of all, the ice cream is amazing! Best Ive ever tasted. I would give it 5 stars.. but I recently went here and the service was very poor. I kindly said hello and good morning and one of the servers just stared at me, waiting for my order, not a word said. I completely understand that it can be a tiring job, but seriously? Brighten up a bit why dont you? I continued with my order and they wrote it down and said nothing to me, just waiting for me to speak and then told me how much it was going to cost. Its a shame, because the first couple of times I went the servers were very nice, but this last time was like biting into a sour apple. Ill choose a different ice cream place next time.

My friend and I both tried Sub Zero for the first time yesterday. AWFUL. To begin, the tables were all filthy. Of course the girls behind the counter never thought to even check, as they were busy chatting about their lives. They could have done with one adult on shift. The ice cream is not good. Its got a weird texture and the flavors are muted and odd. Most importantly though, it burns the roof of your mouth. We both had one bite, tossed the rest and went to Mimis which had a long line but was worth it. My mouth still feels rough today. Definitely never going back. Oh, and of note, the bill for two ice creams at SubZero was around $11. Mimis was $5

I was skeptical at first, but now Im sad I live so far away. I came here with a few friends and we each got something from the Sensations menu, which gives you a good idea of how things work if the DIY menu is too daunting. I opted for the birthday cake capacitor while my friends tried the mass mocha madness and strawberry sigma. We were all very satisfied with our selections and while I usually get a sweet tooth for froyo, I want that birthday cake capacitor again! Would love to see this chain take off and open up shop in the Tri-Valley.

Good ice cream. They do stir it up with add-ins in a novel way. I had the lemon poppy seed which was very nice. However, priced higher than high-quality gelato and it isnt there. Also, really annoying that the prices are actually higher than they show on their board. And the daily specials are marked up even more and their price isnt shown anywhere before you order. From how the employees sell it, the price of the daily specials is the same as the regular. Nice concept but they need some work to get it right.

Went there on a friends recommendation. The ice cream was not creamy at all. The texture left us wanting. Had much better ice cream at a local home made ice cream place in Santa Rosa last week. Reading other reviews, one possibility is that they didnt make our ice cream properly. I would have preferred even a dove bar to what I got here! Disappointed. Edit: We ordered 2 ice creams with the premium cream base and 1 with the organic premium cream base.

Best Ice Cream in the area, hands down. Staff is friendly and the combinations are endless (get the French custard base). Its always fun to see your ice cream frozen right in front of you. Plus, they have Matcha which is a very hard flavor to find. Cheesecake bites are a family favorite as a mix in. Be sure to come by on Mondays for 3 free mix ins!

My family and I travel 55 mins just to go here. The ice cream is creamy and we always have great experiences with the staff. The website said they were closed today 12-19-15 Saturday, dont know why? But, we called and they were open!! Pls fix your site. We almost didnt go! Great place!

The ice cream was a bit too sweet for my taste. Also they dont have any fruit toppings although there are plenty pictures of berries in the store. On the bright side, I like how they prepare the ice cream in front of the customer and mix in the topings really well.

I had an awesome ice cream. It was delicious. However it is very often busy here on nice days so expect a line. And there is lots of outside seating that is shared with the restaurant next door. Price was higher than a normal scoop at the other shops.

Great tasting ice cream with organic options. I tried the custard with chai and cinnamon grumbles on top and my daughter had the cream base with cotton candy flavor and sprinkles. Both tasted fantastic

Very unique way to enjoy some ice cream. Its pretty cool watching them make the ice cream and with plenty of options. Plus theres other shops around so you can enjoy a nice little walk with ice cream.
