El Capitan is one of my favorite restaurants Ive been going to since I was a teen. Their super nachos are a smorgasbord of delight--crispy chips, gooey melted cheese, spicy jalapenos, sizzling meat and pure joy. I cant get over their sauces and salsa--muy delicioso. The Castaneda family runs this restaurant and they treat each of their customers like family--this restaurant is not just a neighborhood establishment but a truly cherished joint. You wont be disappointed!

Ive worked practically across the street for 9 months, and have been meaning to try this place the whole time. But I almost always bring food from home to save money. Boy was I making a huge mistake. Both the Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos I ordered were generous portions, and the chips come with 2 different salsas. The owner is incredibly friendly to boot. I will absolutely be returning, regularly, in an effort to try everything on the menu.

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in SR. The burritos are huge and EXCELLENT! They have a ton of menu choices and everyone is really friendly. We have eaten in the restaurant with our 1 year old and they always treat us like family. My daughter loves to wave and play peek-a-boo with the staff. Great food, great family environment!

Just wanted two simple gilled chicken tacos and these were amazing! Reasonably priced (hard to come by these days) and so tasty. Service was outstanding as well. I ordered ahead and the sweet gal behind the counter came around (as there was already a customer checking out) handed me my food , took my payment and I was on my way. Excellent :)

I personally have been to El Capitan numerous times and every time I have been there the food has NEVER disappointed. The food is relatively cheap and is worth the money. It has a beautiful interior and the staff are very friendly. I would also recommend everything on the menu and this place is worth going to.

el capitan is right down the street from my work. theyve got the best salsa and chips (which come free with your order). try the mini me burrito, its their super burrito but smaller. its great that you can get everything in a burrito for under $7 and their carnitas is especially tasty.

El Capital has the best Chile Verde in town! I drive all the way from San Francisco because I cant find any other location with such amazing Chile Verde as El Capitan. Also, its a family owned business and they are extremely friendly and provide exceptional service.

Great food, fish tacos were to die for, and the super nachos had me drooling. But the best part about this pace is the owner at the front. She is so sweet and attentive, you can tell she really cares about her customers. I cant wait to try the breakfast burritos!

I could tell you how good it was, how my mouth drop and ate everything on the plate and felt fat after having one of the best meals from a Mexican restaurant.... but I say try it, and feel the love this small family is offering in the way of awesome food!!

This place rocks. The man working the front of the house is one of the nicest people Ive ever met (the kind who you know would give you a hug). The food is great (try the Chile Verde). If youre in the area, stop by. You wont regret it.

El Capitan vegetarian burrito very, very good and the guacamole was to die for. The Chile Verde was the best I have ever had, and I have had it in New Mexico. Attention to detail and quality ingredients.

Carne Asada or Carnitas ask for it "Doradita" or "browned." There is a lot of good Mexican Food in Santa Rosa, this is some of the best! Downtown too, get your burritos and head to Courthouse Square.

They offer some of the best Mexican food in SR. The owners are gracious and always happy to serve you. Try their chili Verde Burritos or plate dish. Carnitas are succulent and mouth watering.
