Happy buffet is one of those places you go to when you think to yourself, "I am so hungry I could eat a horse". And most likely, thats what youll be eating (not literally). Upon entrance of this establishment the layout looks plentiful. Your hunger buds tell you this is going to be wonderful. You build that first plate, sit down and begin to masticate said fare. The oddness of the flavors hit you at once, but youre hungry and dont care that its a little off on the flavor profile. You finish your first plate and think, "This is a buffet, gotta get more". After beginning your second plate you realize, it was much better when I was starving. This second plate is a little more like a train wreck. But you want to believe there is something decent on the menu. And thats when it hits you, they had fruit, its kind of hard to mess that up. You throw on some honeydew and cantaloupe. The first bite of honeydew is wonderful then you reach for the cantaloupe and it tastes like it had been frozen and thawed. In short, I would NOT recommend this place to a starving homeless diabetic about to enter a coma if he doesnt get his blood sugar up. Id tell this person, "I think the coma is a better option. At least if you wake up the hospital food will be better".

If I could I would give this place a -5 star!!! 1. food was not fresh and very cold. 2. The food tasted horrible I still have a nasty after taste in my mouth.... 3. Store bought cookies really!!! Well they were the best thing I had there all night!!! 4. Instead of sitting and chatting too each other check on your customers not just too take the food but ask them if they are enjoying their meal and offer refills on drinks!!! When the waitress walked too my table 3 times without offering I got up and had too ask!!! In the last 10 yrs I have never been too a worse restaurant!!!! Thank you but no thank you and the sign for grand opening has been up for over 2 months take it down already!!! I wish I was able too ask for my money back was not worth even a dollar a plate!!!! O one more thing the fortune cookie from the 99 cent store not cool!!! I so wish for my anniversary I went too Panda at least they are decent and always have fresh food!!! O I forgot to mention I am now very ill!!!

For the price you really cant expect much more than what they offer, $7.99 for lunch is about the same price as getting a 2 item combo at a fast food Chinese restaurant and no one dictates the portions but you. Plenty of choices sushi and desserts so if you are in a hurry and dont want too much to pay then try this place out. As far as dinner i would consider the new buffet just across on Bristol its called Santa Buffet and grill.. Happy Buffet and China Olive doesnt come close to the new competition i just hope they could keep the consistency but at the same it all depends if customers continue to go also.

I was in here a second time, it still only gets three stars in my book. Nothing too spectacular still. Kinda surprised about all the negative reviews too. Dining room was in fair condition. Front entrance was clean yet had a bad smell. Chicken tasted horrible. It was undercooked. Noodles werent too great. Rest of the food was ok. Service was so-so, one guy was rude other guy was really nice. Might return but its definitely not my first choice. Wouldnt swear this place off either. Highly recommend China Star Buffet over on Beach & Chapman instead, much much better. Happy Buffet is still ok too

Okay let me start off by saying NASTY!!! I got sick after the first bight and had to run to the bathroom to throw up.. and someone was in there trowing up too!! My son couldnt eat anything but the rice and my husband also got sick from the chicken.. we didnt even eat a plate per person ans when we complained they said it was the first time anyone ever said anything(yeah right) and the bussers lied and said we finished like 4 plates (we didnt eat 1 plate combined) WORST FOOD EVER!!! I RECOMMEND ANY CAFE CHINA BUFFETS ! THEY ACTUALLY ROCK! SO GOOGLE THEM INSTEAD OF THIS JUNK OF A PLACE!

The food was dry and scarce, what food there was it was cold or dry. Most trays were empty and were not filled quickly. The servers had to be tracked down instead of tending to the customers. The tables lasted for awhile with dirty plates and I had to ask for the tables to be cleared as well as for refills. I was really hopeful when I saw this location because I had wonderful experiences in other Happy Buffet locations I just wouldnt recommend this location at all.

i just went on sunday, with my family.let me just tell u guys before u go eat there again, i got up to get desert after i was eating and i was looking around to see whats good and guess what? i saw a bunch of baby maggets,u know before they become maggets a pile of them it was so nasty it killed my appetite.i showed the owner and he just took the plate of my hands and threw it away.i just walked out.that place needs to be shut down.....

I am not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from. I am a professional Chef and this was what you would expect for a Chinese Buffet, the quality was no better or worse then any other Chinese Buffet. Additionally I found the place to be clean and sanitary. People need to get over themselves because for the price $9.00 you pretty much get what you are paying for.

Do not stop. Do not eat. Save yourself the headache of poor customer service or the waiter talking in Chinese to a waitress about the customers. The food is below average. Go across the street next to the 99 cent store if you want a brand new buffet that is good. Its called Santa Buffet & Grill. You will be a lot happier with the quality of food.

Service was very fast, but the restaurant was filthy, food all over the floor, and the quality of the food was pretty disgusting. The employees were unfriendly almost to the point of being hostile. Price was moderate at $12.99 (drink not included). But this is one of those places that even "free" would be overpriced.

Place is busy. Food is pretty good. Some interesting choices like ube buns and stewed celery in wasabi. The place itself us a bit run down and the bathrooms needed some clean up. Service was quick and friendly. Plates were never sitting at the table very long and refills for drinks were brought quickly.
