Personally I love a good ceviche on a hot day with a cerveza. Normally I make my own. Shrimp, scallops, onions, lime juice, lemon juice, cilantro, avocado, tomato, white sea bass, jalapeno, Serrano chillies, garlic, parsley, the rest is secret. Although not as varied, or complex as my own I do appreciate their ceviche because they do add tomato, onion, avocado, but I also have to agree its simplicity may turn people off and others onto. They do give you a healthy amount. They do daily lunch specials which are the catch because they change daily, have no schedule and to me Ive had my best dishes from there. Siete Mares or the Mexican version of Italian Cioppino is great on cold days, so much depth, a hefty bounty of squid, clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels, but mostly shrimp. I cant recall what else. I find it a little too cocktail like and less soup like. Most Mexican soups besides tortilla are heavy, such is the case here. I wasnt a fan of their oysters. I prefer places like Shuck that specialize in them. Not that they werent good. I just wish they plated them better, kept some brine in there, had a variety and were a tad fresher, but for the price its hard to beat. In fact the whole place has great prices, private lot, beer and wine. Its not a bad spot to check out if you work in the area and dont feel like going to these more yuppy places on a hot day.

I had a huge craving for ceviche and this was nearby so had to try it! Shrimp Ceviche Tostada - $8 - Pile of onions, tomatoes, shrimp, avocado, on a tostada. They give a full basket of saltine crackers for you to eat the ceviche with but their homemade house chips make a much better accompaniment! Ask for the house chips instead! Fish Filet with Ranchero Sauce - $12 Large portion of fish covered in ranchero sauce which was pretty good! Comes with salad and pilaf. Pilaf?? Yea. House Chips & Salsa - I liked that the salsa wasnt tongue-searing hot. It was quite mild actually, so if you like yours hotter, you can request some extra spiciness. Overall a quiet mom & pop shop. Their other shrimp dishes look great so going to have to come back and try!

This was my first time visiting Clemente Seafood and was not impressed. I asked the gentleman which lunch special was the most popular. He suggested the garlic butter shrimp. So, I ordered the garlic butter shrimp with rice and beans. Here is a reference to the movie Fight Club with a twist, "I am Jacks unsatisfied tongue." The flavor of the rice, beans, and shrimp was unnoticeable. The potential for a great plate was there but they failed to execute especially for the price I paid of $10.79. For the same price I would rather go to Rubios and get the grilled shrimp bowl. I work near by and will give Clemente Seafood a second chance. Look for an updated review.

Simply delicious. I tried this based on all the other 5 star ratings and must agree, its still a 5. Yes, this is a hole in the wall and not the typical restaurant I would normally choose on a business trip. I tried the Camarones a La Diabla (think thats correct). Its the standard shrimp on their menu with the red sauce. Every mouthful was a treat. You would easily pay $17+ for this at a fancy restaurant but this dish is around $8. I will add this to my dinner list every time I am in the Santa Ana area.

The owner does not want service dogs in his reasturant. He accually stated "I dont like dogs here" and my wife asked if he wanted us to leave and he stated yes. We will be reporting him to the ADA. He is lucky we are not one of those people out there that are sue happy. Someday he will come across one and be sorry. He lost out on business from us and whom ever we can tell.

The food was good but not great. We had the shrimp ceviche and a shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was soft and plenty of food for the order it was just a little bland for my taste. It might be fine for other people but I felt like it was missing a little something. Service was excellent and you should definitely give it shot, maybe my taste buds were off that day.

Always a great place for the family to stop and grab a filling bite to eat. From their chips and salsa to their octopus ceviche and wet burritos. This place is delicious and serves cold beer. Also located next to OLE Deli, one of the best Spanish delis in orange county. Clementes is a great place to drop by for a good Spanish meal!

Went today at 11:45am. there was only one other customer. By 12 noon, I was the only one there. That should have told me something. I ordered the Hot Fish, #5, and it was mediocre, bland, nothing great, and expensive for such a modest dish. For That money, I can go almost anywhere and get a better meal.

I recently started working in an office building right down the road. I found this place on Google and just had to try it out. It was VERY good. I had a "torta" which was a fish sandwich. Very tasty, nice bread. Homemade chips for the chips and salsa. Mexican Coke in a tall bottle. Nice folks too!

Been going here for more than 10 years. My favorite is the shrimp in garlic butter with rice. So good and highly recommended if you like garlic! Shrimp or fish tacos are delicious as well. Chips and salsa is very good as well. It can get busy at lunch time so get there early.

Best ceviche ever! Fresh and delicious seafood at affordable prices. Service is fantastic. Complimentary chips and salsa with free refills for dine in customers. Also try the wet shrimp burrito with red sauce as well as the shrimp plate with diablo sauce.

Just ate here for lunch and had the hot shrimp (#2) combo. The food was excellent for the price, the salsa was great and the beans were as near to homemade as you can get eating out. Highly recommended for people who like real Mexican food.
