The waitress was attentive and flexed her skills by memorizing our orders. Everything we ordered arrived although we had to remove the tomatoes which we had asked to be left off. Our margaritas barely had any slush or alcohol to them. More like 2/3s ice and 1/3 syrup at the bottom. No salt on the rim and the glass was garnished with a slice of orange (cheap looking imo). My $14 combo platter consisted of a 4oz steak, a taquito, and an enchilada with plain rice and runny beans. My steak was the hardest piece of meat Ive eaten in years. I labored just to cut through it with the knife. Chewing did little to relieve the rubbery texture. For my other dishes, I should have ordered the chicken. I ordered beef. It was exactly identical to Taco Bell beef which I guiltily enjoy but its not something I want to pay a restaurant price for. 2 Dinners and 2 drinks totaled $47 for sub-par food which felt like it should have stayed on the bar side of the restaurant. In short, do not go here for the food. There are many other great Mexican restaurants, Mexican fast food, and Mexican taco trucks which beat this place hands down.

We stopped by last evening for an early dinner and were VERY impressed. Although the restaurant is tucked humbly into a strip mall type setting, we really enjoyed our dinner. Servers and other workers greeted us in a very friendly manner, service was excellent, and the food was the freshest Mexican food weve had in ages. I had the spinach enchiladas with black beans and rice; my husband had the veggie enchiladas with black beans and rice. It was such a treat to actually SEE the tortillas, since the meal did NOT come covered / as in slathered with cheese and sauce. The veggies and spinach were freshly cut and not frozen or canned. The place is a bit small and a bit noisy, but well worth it. Well definitely return! A definite CROWN to La Carona!

Having lived in cities bordering Mexico most of my life (El Paso, TX and San Diego, CA), I consider myself to be somewhat of a Mexican cuisine snob. I did not expect to find anything comparable in Kirkland, WA! Boy was I pleasantly surprised when a business colleague referred me to La Corona -- its literally minutes from my house. The food is always fresh and delicious. A couple of my favorites are their spinach enchiladas and the carne asada plate. The entire staff is very friendly and the service is always great. They are like family. La Corona has become a regular place to dine, especially on Fridays, after a hard week at work.

So sad to say my girls had a bad time at this place last night. I worked with the owner years ago at La Playa. The service was terrible. It took a very long time to get a drink and we had to search for the bartender when our drink was empty. No one ever serviced our table in a prompt manner, the bartender was not very attentive and did not remember our order half of the time. She was not the friendliest to us either to say the least. The food was great, but it took a very long time to receive a menu. I do not think we will be going there any time soon or reccommending this place to very many people due to the service and the way we were treated.

Neighborhood family owned Mexican restaurant. Its so nice to see 3 generations working and running this place. The owners are so sweet and accommodating! Been coming here for years. They have the best Pico de gallo they serve with the chips & salsa... Chunky and hand made... Not the typical canned liquidy salsa (picante sauce) one gets at other Mexican restaurants. The food is fresh & tasty... The refried and black beans are vegetarian... Their rice is made with chicken powder/stock. Lots of good choices for vegetarians. The service was poor. My water was never refilled even after I asked for it to be. My friend and I both had taco salad with chicken. She wasnt impressed with it, I thought it was ok once I added alot of salsa for flavor. However a found a bone in my chicken which I had actually bit into. When I told the server about it she said "oh". I never even received an apology. We both decided after our meal we would never return for food again, maybe a drink but thats it.

I just moved to WA from Chicago, IL and ordered carryout from La Corona- got a beef taco and a cheese burrito a la carte - cost $10 came with hot and mild salsa with chips- loved the hot - mild was thick - ok though. The taco was pretty tasty and the cheese burrito was huge and tasted wonderful- the bags of chips was big too - enough to feed two people - cant wait to go back to try the fajitas!

No stars if possible. Food lately have been awful. Few weeks ago found a long hair mixed in the food. Todays order for bacon covered shrimp was so dry and chewy and the color was dark brown to black. Called the manager to complain and he said he knew it was dry yet he still served it to us. Hung up on me twice. Awful service and lately food has been awful. Will not return.

Tell you the truth I am not big fan of Mexican food, however eating at this simple place made me to be a Mexican food LOVER! Food tastes soooooooo good, yumy, fresh and authentic in here as if t is made in Mexico, it self! I think, partly because the entire Kitchen staff and even serves are all Mexican. My most favorite dish is Gordo Plato, which is huge & delicious dish.

Low quality, flavorless, absolutely some of the lowest quality Mexican food I have ever had!... would never go back there again!… Overpriced! Just poor quality! The beef fajitas was were almost too tough to chew!...16.25 for this?...not even!...save yourself the disappointment!...my girlfriend and I said as we left we would have rather eaten at McDonalds

Went there for the first time a couple nights ago with a group of friends. Ordered steak fajitas. Delicious food, one of the best fajitas ive ever had. The staff was very nice and seemed happy. Will be going here again! Edit: went there a bunch more times and a great experience every time.

We have been going here for the last several years and its nice to see the same friendly faces. The food is great and the prices are right. The wait time for a table is minimal if any. We look forward to seeing you for several more years. Great job La Corona

The service is some of the best I have ever had at a mexican restaurant. We were getting our chips and water filled instantaneously after we had finished them. Some of their food is a miss but most of it is absolutely delicious. Their Salsa is amazing!
