the service was authentic, one of the waiters doesnt even know english so its like being in japan. I called in at 6pm to make a reservation, and said any time is fine, i heard the lady go ask what anytime means. when i got there at 8 pm with my party of 8 they had no idea about my reservation. eventually we got seated, the server just nods when people say things to her then walks away. I noticed this with other tables too, i asked her he we could order she nodded and apparently never came back. The waiters/servers walk around on a mission drop stuff off and run away, They dont even bother looking around if a table needs anything. we waited 20 minutes and two requests to order before we could order. there was a backlog with the sushi because for some reason they only had one sushi chief working. So everyone who didnt order sushi got their food in 10 minutes, and people didnt get sushi until after those people finished eating. They didnt even bother bringing out the appetizer soup and salad for the people who ordered bento boxes until we asked for it. The sashimi looked not fresh, and some of the sushi on top of the rolls looked not so fresh. We intended to stay for an hour but because of the slow service we didnt get out until 945.

Pretty Bad. Service & Food. Quite a change from the last 10 years weve been coming and its changed hands a few times to pretty bad management. This is unfortunate because it has been our go-to sushi place. My current favorite roll (The 49er) was changed and it came to the table really wrong & the server didnt say anything about the modification. But new management kept the same name. Hubby ordered a roll that came out too big and looked unappetizing. Order the Chicken Karage, there was less than before and the sauce has been watered down. Aside from all of this, the food came out at different times and when it did come the server slammed it down on the table and ran off. Time to find a new place unfortunately. Will not be returning here.

Last time I went here a few days ago I noticed the under new management sign. Honestly, I never felt anything wrong with the previous management (have been going there for years since its pretty close to where I work). The food is still good. I usually order the nigiri set to see whether a Japanese sushi restaurant is legit or not, and I can say what theyre serving is pretty good. The fish was fresh and without much toppings (cant stand those), just what good nigiri is supposed to be. Price isnt the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for. I might not frequent this place, but Ill definitely swing by once in a while.

The whole experience was awesome. This is literally the corner sushi place, but everything was 5 star. Service was so great -- we never had to ask for anything; they had perfect timing on food service, water refills, etc. Sashimi was perfectly cut, the miso was perfectly flavored, not overly salty. My somewhat picky 8-year-old enjoyed a kids meal with chicken teriyaki and perfectly crispy tempura, and even had some salad. He polished off most of the complimentary edamame as well. He pronounced it all "thumbs up" and I agree. Best of all, this means sushi will now be on our family dining out list... as long as we come here!

Its better than most sushi places with good prices, a nice atmosphere, and helpful staff. What really makes this place stand out is that they often give out free appetisers, soup, and grilled samples -- especially when things are not that busy. They have a good Japanese menu and things other than Sushi. My girlfriend doesnt like sushi, but loves this place due to the assortment of other dishes that they offer. This is one of our favorite restaurants in San Leandro.

I dont normally write reviews but this place stands out. Very nice atmosphere with plenty of room and very well lit. Excellent service. At the sushi bar free hot tea, edamame, and seaweed salad. Sushi bar chef was very tentative and made excellent rolls. Great selection of sushi specials and traditional rolls. Make sure and save room for the tempura green tea ice cream! Will definitely return when passing through in my travels.

Good food, socially awkward service. They seemed to misunderstand the basics of server communication. One server would ask, "may I take your order?" to which I would reply, in a few minutes, we just sat down. Then another server and another server would ask the same thing within one minute of each other. And it wasnt busy!

Very good rolls, from the usaul fancy sauced mash ups to very simple yet elegant one to three item rolls (my new.favorite is the rose blossom) Update: Watch out for substitutions, I ordered a 49ers roll, and "krab meat" was subbed for the salmon. Good customer service, it was taken off the bill. Ill be back.

The worst sushi place in east bay. Sticky table, rude server, you have to ask for ginger they dont bring it with sushi. Tempura was cold! And its the priciest place in San Leandro! And dont order Incredible. You will be incredibly disappointed.

Sticky tables. Bento box is good and cheap for 2 items. Charged 5$ extra for tobiko on the side. Plastic string in my water. Chair had rip on surface. Table was wobbly. Some bowls had cracks in them. Bonus for free Edamame.
