It went here for the first time for dinner last night. It was a bit too loud for my tastes but the food was decent so I decided to go back today for lunch. This was the worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. As soon as I arrived I could see that the man I presume to be the manager was angry and was taking it out on his staff, some of whom also seemed angry. My server, however, was very sweet and cheerful. At lunch time it was even louder than it had been the night before. There were tables full of loud people on both sides of me and the acoustics there seem to really amplify the noise. It was hard to have a conversation at times. Around the time I finished eating, everyone seemed to start yelling and turning to face the back of the restaurant. I turned to see what they were looking at and saw 2 customers attacking a waitress. Literally backing her into a corner and punching her. One of the male staff pulled the most violent customer away toward the front of the restaurant and when he let go, she fell to the ground. Then mass chaos ensued. A few more fights broke out. Lots of people were trying to hit each other and others were trying to break it up. Someones apron was thrown across the room. I had to call 911. The dispatchers said that others had already called and police were on their way. I headed out as quickly as possible once my bill was paid. On the way out I saw at least 18 police cars had come and police were putting someone into one of them. I will never eat here again.

Our dance group went to eat breakfast this morning, we were about 8 adults and two kids. We added our names to the waiting list and waited for 30 minutes, as we waited we spot a table for about 6 people and next to it was another small table for 3 people that was empty, I asked the waiter if we could sit there and just wait for the bit table as it was almost 40 minutes of wait, she WAS VERY RUDE AND LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS CRAZY, THEN SAID " do not rush these people ( the people of the big table) I said very politely, that I was not even talking to them, and I explained to her my intentions to wait for the big table. She told the people of the big table, just take your time and do not rush.. I just sat down with my kid and waited, and waited, then my other friends came to us and the manager went to us and yelled at us saying that we were all over the place ( this waiting are is very small) and some other non sense or logical things, we just got up and left. THESE EMPLOYEES NEED TO BE TRAINED AND BE NICE TO CUSTOMERS, WE WAITED FOR 40 MINUTES AND NO TABLE OR RECEIVED A NICE TREATMENT. I KNOW IT GETS HECTIC WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE WAITING, BUT AS A MANAGER THAT IS YOUR JOB AND SHOULD BE TRAINED TO BE A MANAGER.. NEVER WILL GO BACK !!

I dont usually post reviews, but Flames deserves one. I recently used Door Dash to place an order. I mentioned in the comments that I was diabetic, so please sub out the rice for cole slaw. I received my food, and found that they put the salmon dressing in a separate container AND left the salad dressing off of the salad for me, because of the comment. However, they forgot to actually replace the rice with the cole slaw. I called them up and explained the accident, as well as being thankful for the other extra steps they took. The woman I spoke to was apologetic and offered me anything else I wanted as an apology, and I told them nothing was necessary. Door Dash then delivered the cole slaw... but in addition came the rest of my order as a complete replacement and a note saying "Im Sorry" taped to it. The days we live in, it can be difficult to remember that everyones human and everyones different. It takes a LOT for a company to go above that and go the extra mile to be supportive and kind. As a side note, the salmon was to die for, the roasted vegetables were perfectly flavored and went well together, and the cole slaw was worth the wait. Peppered nicely, not too heavy or sweet.

Ummm....hello!! They have Happy hour 7 days a week AND bottomless mimosas on Sundays!! Looking for a place to grab a few drinks on a tight budget but still enjoy a day or night out in SJ? I suggest to catch their early or late night Happy Hour. 3pm-6pm and 9pm-midnight DAILY! Appetizers and specialty drinks are half off. Well drinks, house wine, and beer come out to $3! Sure theres better alternatives such as a dive bar or a crowded club but you cant beat this place with all the late night munchies! Gets really busy during the weekends, but thats the reason why you go a little early before 10:30pm to beat the rowdiness. A lot of people like to trickle their way in after awhile when the night wears on, keep that in mind! Service is a little slow but their staff are quite upbeat and friendly no matter what time you come in. Food comes incredibly huge in portion, so sharing is no problem. Order their sampler plate during their happy hour. Its quite a steal! Everyone can easily split it amongst each other. For food quality...its not superb but its a bargain nonetheless! I would definitely come back when Im out and about in downtown SJ!

Great atmosphere, especially on the weekends for brunch. It can be a bit loud Saturday/Sunday mornings between football, college students and bottomless mimosas, so if youre looking for a quiet, relaxing place, this is not it. Ive only had breakfast and sandwiches there, so I cant speak for any of the entrees. Im partial to the scrambles, the New Orleans benedict and the cinnamon roll french toast, all of which are good and about what youd expect. Everything Ive had there has been well-executed, though, if nothing overly creative. Ive tried the bread pudding French Toast, but as another reviewer also mentioned, it is unbelievably sweet (too much so for my tastes). All the drinks Ive had have been good and didnt tasted watered down (except the bottomless mimosas, sometimes, but I kind of expect that). Service is mostly good; Ive hit a few waiters that havent been great, but not many, and the managers have always been more than helpful. They validate parking, too, which means free parking in the 4th St. garage on the weekends.

Ive come here about 4 times (and only when a group is already set). The food is not really high quality, lacks depth of taste and quality fresh ingredients. The menu is way too large and scattered in style which begs the question... what is your focus/what are you great at? But my biggest issue here is the service. On multiple occasions they have forgotten items (even after reminding them), seem to be understaffed at peak lunch hours on a busy dt San José street, and almost never come by after they serve the food to ask "how is everything/how does it taste" Today I was more then unimpressed with the meat lovers pizza (which our server Puanani never returned to ask about); the dough was blah and seemed like a pre-packaged item; the sausage was clearly breakfast links cut up... really on a pizza? In the past Ive had lack luster experiences with there salads, and the french toast.
