Really bad service, the server (Asian lady with glasses) was very rude! Asked her a question about a sushi role that I obviously didnt know what was in it! She was upset over me asking the question, then once she came back she rudely asked "Are you ready yet or not? " I told her we were ready to order, i ordered a shrimp and vegetables combination (stir fry) once I was placing my order she interrupted me asked twice if I was sure thats what I wanted " I asked why would I not be?" she responded " I asking if thats what you want everybody always expects it to be more but it only shrimp in broth " I responded "ok thats fine can u just add more vegetables since your only saying its shrimp in broth and what I ordered clearly says vegetables and shrimp stirfry " she said "Ok more vegetables! More vegetables is more pay ! You got more money for Extra pay! "she was looking at me like I was a Broke dumbass (excuse my language ) I said "yes thats Ok " she responded "ok thats what you want " took her menus and left. I looked at my husband and got up and left. I felt that she was very rude and her comments were not needed ! Never going back ! plus this sushi is not great for what your paying! Ive had better ! So yea thats just my experience hope it helps just for the record that 1 star is only there because its man

I have been going here with my dad since I was about 7. Teddy treats me and most others like family, always tries to stay updated on our lives, and keeps good conversation at the sushi bar. I have tried almost everything on their list and it is all to die for! I have tried to have sushi elsewhere, but it never compares. If you are not big on sushi, I would go with the chicken teriyaki, that was a go to when I was younger! They have had a remodel over the years and what used to be a whole in the wall, is now an up to date beautiful place to have the most amazing sushi in the Bay Area! Cant wait to be back!:) thank you Okawa for making sushi my favorite food at such a young age and sticking around to keep it up throughout my life!:)

Deserves no stars but since Im craving sushi and enjoy this place for years. Its a Sunday night around 6pm. We had an hour drive from Oakley due to road work and traffic but my boyfriend and I agreed the food was worth it. We ordered and I am still sitting outside waiting for over 50 minutes for our $24 order. Which we have checked in with them 3 times so far. Which its about 85 degrees outside, we both are clearly sunburnt and werent even offered seating inside or water while we wait what seems to be like another 20 minutes according to the sushi prep. Rather pay more and get faster survive than cheap and rude inconsiderate servers.

This is definitely going to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants! So far Ive only been here one time and enjoyed it very much! Dont forget to try their Udon soups (chicken my favorite!). So good! Yaay! Service is absolutely fantastic here, no doubt! GO SUSHI! The only problem I found with this place is that it is located in a "hole in the wall" and can be hard to find. Parking is also not too great. Also, it is hard to read or understand the receipt they give you when you pay. You are not sure how much each item you were charged for costs (drinks, tea, refills, etc.).

First off.... the family of this business are so kind and awesome. They gave my one year old son such luv during our dining. He did not want to go home with me after hanging with them in the kitchen ...lol! The sushi and everything that we ordered was so delicious that we ordered seconds. I did not expect my bill to be so small, but it was ..lol. Thank you for your great services and we will definitely be dining more there in the near future. Please do not change your style of customer commitment its unheard-of these days in the Bay Area restaurant industries

Place is clean, friendly and always delicious meals. Only issue I have is that there were three of us. My sons meal came first. About 6 minutes later mine came followed by another 7 to 10 minutes for my sons girlfriends meal to come out. And the waiter as friendly as he was kept reaching over everyones food, when he didnt have to. Plenty of room for him to have come from another angle. But, I still left a 20 dollar tip on an extremly reasonable 75 dollar bill. We also had a few different sushi items. So Id still go back and I still enjoyed the place.

I like how well maintained the salt water fish tank is they have next to the sushi bar and also the decor. The sushi is good, flavorful & they make it in front of you at the bar.good prices. They service is good & the sushi chiefs are hilarious once you get to know them & talk.they like to joke around. Its a cute place for a date. I enjoy eatting & watching the fish in the tank is relaxing

Wooow, the customer service was just beautiful. And the sushi chef even helped an elderly lady to her car, so sweet! Everything was perfect, some places serve miso a little too salty. The miso was perfect and my deep fried Philadelphia roll was to perfection. Yuuuuummy, my new go to place after work or before class :)

“good food great service great Magaritas” The service is off the hook,the food is good and they get to you promptly,nice happy Hour !!!!Plenty of parking easy in easy out,Thursday is the horns and singing little to noisey for me but they still fill the place,nice friendly place !!!

FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER! The food is excellent, the service prompt, friendly, and knowledgable. Atmosphere is genuine. I do not have a bad word to say about Okawa. Teddy is the best sushi chef around and Allen and the other staff members also make my visits a delight =)

everything is wonderful there the staff food you name it all except the price there a little pricey you know footballer rice and little piece of seaweed but I know theyre no different than any of the other sushi restaurants are all expensive

We came here for a birthday celebration and did not even call ahead. They seated us when all of our party got there ,got our order in and had food sitting in front of us even before we finished the chips and salsa.

This place is definitely worth checking out. Good quality sushi at great prices. The service is really good, and everyone is extremely friendly. The Hawaii roll is good and the baked mussels are AMAZING!

They are rude the man that seated us came out with a mouth full of food, they charged 1.50 for for a flat can soda they give u half a cup of ice in the ice tea and theyre slow bringing your food.

Good sushi, friendly waiter and waitress. They often come by to check if your food is okay and if you need to order more and fills your tea, water or soda. Good place to eat sushi.
