Lights out, time to go Executive chef from Newport Seafood is the star man who started Boston lobster. Looks like he didnt want to extend his stay at Newport so he took some of the working staff and took off. Lucky for me, my main waiter came along too who speaks Vietnamese and now theres a shorter wait for the same exact menu as Newport! Heres an all-star cast if its your first time - house slecial lobster - basil clams - bo luc lac - kung pao chicken (really though, its no Panda Express) - salty pork chop - walnut shrimp - salt and pepper crab - pea sprouts - steamed fish Try to avoid: - Canh chua (if your vietnamese youll be disappoint that its not the right flavor) - anything with sweet and sour sauce - seafood sizzling plates (lacks flavor) Why not 5 stars? If you have been to Newport, youd know that the restaurant is done very well with well designed layout and decorations, side rooms for private families, big beautiful display tanks to showcase the massive crabs and lobsters. This place lacks all of that. It is a congested restaurant with nothing on the walls. The layout feels really tight because its a lot smaller space. It just doesnt feel as clean. Parking lot wars There hasnt been a time when Ive came into this lot without witnessing someone do something extremely stupid. A fairy must have sprinkled dumb dust all over this lot. Do youself a favor and street park it or park in another lot.

Boston Lobster originated from the Chef from Newport Seafood from what Ive heard. I bought to go meal for my family and service there was pretty good but the portions are pretty small. They have a great lunch menu that I would recommend. Parking is tight since its in a small plaza in the corner of Valley and San Gabriel. The Lobster House Special Sauce ( Market price was $15/lb) of course was the best dish with noodles ($5 extra). My family and I enjoyed the dish. It was probably heavy on the oil side but it was very tasty. Shrimp Fried Rice was excellent - I felt like they had some thing that made it more flavorful than most fried rice Ive tried (hopefully not msg). Highly recommended! :) Clams with Basil Sauce - Clams were not as tasty and it was a bit small. Satay Beef (Bo buc lac) - It was pretty good with pepper sauce. Chow Fun with Beef - This wasnt the best dish. It was a bit dry on the soy sauce side. Canh Chua (Sweet & Sour Cat Fish Soup) - This was the least flavorful dish that we had. It needed more tamarind, add okra, and need more cat fish in the soup. Ong choy with Garlic - This one needed more salt or garlic because it was bland. Overall, it was a good first time experience but I think Newport would still be my go to place for this type of food. We wanted to try this place out to see if we would like it.

This is as good as you can get with chinese style lobster in the area. Not exactly sure how it compares to Newport Seafood (heard the Newport Chef came here), but they seem fairly similar in their offerings and style. Both require long wait times. My family says this one seems better than Newport so there ya have it. We did have a less than optimal experience when we ordered extra noodles to go w/ the lobster and did make mention of it to the wait staff. He candor about why that mightve been the case was refreshing. Said it mightve been the fact that w/ the large order of noodle it was not as easy to apply the flavorings and cooking as evenly as a single order and to order multiple individual ones rather than a large one to have more assurances of quality. After we boxed it up, he did offer to recook the noodles which was thoughtful of them. My family thought it tasted much better afterwards.

The food is always soo delicious here and the service is exceptional. I dont even like seafood but I can eat some shrimp or some fish dishes here. Their lobster was magnificent! But for people who do not eat seafood at all, they cook delicious vegetable dishes and dishes with beef or other land animals that I eat (also very very tasty). We went to celebrate my sisters birthday and forgot the candles and lighter. Within seconds of seeing that we had cake, our waiter offered to keep it in the fridge for us and when he brought it out, he saw that the we didnt have the candle n lighter so he gave us a candle and lighter to use. This was above and beyond the wonderful job that they normally do anyway. They made my sisters bday meal delicious and very memorable. This place gets packed and you may have to wait, but the food and service are top notch!

Great Service! I am surprise even to write "great service" and 5 stars for a Asian restaurant located off of Valley!? Parking may be difficult but if your looking for a family style dinner that serves lobsters and Crab than this is the place to be! Our waiter was incredibly helpful and friendly...almost unheard of, can you tell Im still shocked?! He took more than one group photo for us and even got into another person table just to get everyone in the photo..now that is service! He gave us great suggestions on what would make a dish more delicious and what would help us save more money! Oh and the food was cook to perfection and may beat Capital Seafood any single day! Prices are also not comparable..we had 8 people eating so it came out to be about $35 per person plus 18% tip!

I have been here on several occasions, and each time, there was a ginormous line outside of the restaurant! Why is there such a long line outside you ask? One word: LOBSTER! The lobster here is very decently priced, but more importantly, it is very savory and comes out hot and fresh. You can see the steam rising up from the individual lobster pieces when the lobster gets delivered to your table! The other food is also great, but most people come here for the lobster :) I suggest sending one person from your group early to the restaurant to grab a number, and then wait while the rest of your party arrives.

We drove 40 minutes, waited to get in for 2 hours and finished eating in 30 minutes, but it was so worth it! The most popular lobster with noodles dish didnt disappoint. Other delicious items: fried tofu was made to perfection, veggies, and the beef cubes. Service was excellent even though they were super busy. The waiter even stopped what he was doing to take a picture for us. Thank you! Parking lot is small. If you dont want to wait, go early (specially on weekends). But if you dont mind the wait, theres a massage parlor next to it.

This is the spot to go if you are feeling like getting Asian stir fried lobster. This fad initially started with newport Tang cang but supposedly one of the chefs didnt like the fact that they were charging so much for the food at the restaurant and opened up Boston lobster. The food is just as good if not better than Newport and make sure to get noodles with your house special lobster. The service here is also amazing and friendly which really sets it apart. Definitely a top restaurant in the SGV.
