This place used to be naan n curry being the only bang for your buck indian place around. When new owner took over, I ate there once only. Well, not necessarily went there because I ordered for delivery to Nob Hill. This past week, I had a meet up with potential client from India. Just so by chance they asked if I know of any place around the FiDi. I had no choice, but Raavi. We ordered several dishes to share and it was presented as expected. Everything was fresh and tasty and endless free naan made a whole of difference. I usually dont eat Indian food around noon due to intestinal problems after. Today, I passed my own test. No mild sweaty scalp or burping issues. Will definitely try again.

I found found this place looking for some good Indian food near my hotel. Ive had Indian food, mostly biryani and vindaloo, in various places around the US, so that is my basis. The vindaloo here was pretty delicious. It may not be the greatest youll have, but its in my top 5. Its heavier on the cardamom side I would say. Their rice was very good as well, not too dry like many places. The only disappointment was the garlic naan which was very bready and didnt have the fresh garlic taste of some places Ive been. Its a small place with sparse atmospheric treatment, but as other reviews have said, the service is very good and combined with very palatable food makes it a place worth dining in.

Raavi was a nice little place. We visited late about half an hour from closure, and we ordered a few things frlm the counter and then took a table and took our cutlery from the shelves. Daal, lamb curry, chicken biryani. I got a garlic Naan and a regular Naan. It was plenty for 3 people. Both naan were great, they disappeared quickly! The lamb curry was good too, there could have been more meat but the sauce was great to scoop up with naan. The Daal was satisfying as well. My only letdown was the chicken biryani, it wasnt great, mostly yellow rice with some spices and a few small pieces of chicken (and a drumstick) thrown in. I would definitely go back, but not for the biryani.

Family style dining, rice dies not come with main dish order separately. For two, ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, plain basmati rice and 1 order of naan. The tikka masala was pretty good, vindaloo is spicy (I like spicy) delivered on spice, not on taste. It is a self-service dining where you gather your own plates, utensils and water. If youre looking for clean place to eat this place is mom&pop type of place that could use updates. All in all didnt feel for price it was worth it.

Tikka masala isnt that good. Ive had much better. The meat stuffed naan breads are poor for the price, stick with regular. But the butter chicken is simply amazing. With a side of rice, one of the most filling and delicious meals Ive eaten in the area. Rarely theres an annoying bone in the chicken but it really doesnt detract from the dish. Service was good and very quick. For the butter chicken, and the price, 5. stars. PS the korma is also top notch

Got there to pick up a to-go order which wasnt ready yet and the guy told me two minutes, 20 minutes later after watching five or six other people pick up their food and walk right out I realized he had lied to me and just didnt want to tell me they forgot to make my order. very disrespectful, just be honest if you make a mistake.

It isnt a fashionable restaurant but their food is good enough to compete with others. I dont know if their Tikka Masala is authentic but it is very delicious as well as Biriyani and Naan. Try their tea with milk while waiting your order, you will be surprised if you havent tried that before.

Good spot for low price Indian food. This isnt the type of Indian restaurant that has a buffet but it does have seating and they play coke studio on the TV which I enjoy. Heads up though if you order chicken tikka masala online it does not come with rice youll have to order it separately

Went here recently for dinner. In the food department, they were just about alright and I had no serious complaints. Thr place was really grubby though. Seems like a bulk of their business is take out, so there interiors and upkeep of it are neglected. Affordable Indian place in FiDi.

This restaurant is perhaps the Indian eatery on the west coast. The chicken is always juicy and tasty. The service is always friendly and attentive. A most have for all transplants looking for authenticity and great service. Parking kinda sucks but thats the only draw back.

Some of the best Indian Ive ever tasted and Ive been to India. Great price, friendly staff :) Its not normal self or counter serve. You order and pay at the register, you pick up the plates and forks yourself, they cook it and bring out the dishes to you :)

Amazing Indian food! This is a regular spot for me and my co workers. Prices are not very expensive when compared to few other restaurants in the area and the food is delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for Indian food.

Quantity and quality of food were very good. One rice, one Naan and one entree was enough for two people. Price was also very reasonable. I especially liked their dal goat and butter chicken. Also try their tea for 1 dollar.

Great food. Had the Lamb Tikka Masala and a piece of Naan. It was under $10 and I am stuffed. It was delicious and came with complementary chai tea. I will be back for sure. Cant wait to share this place with friends.

Favorite Indian food in SF. I order on Uber eats (too often) and have been in once. My go-to: chicken Tikka masala, samosas, rice. The chicken biryani is great too. Portions are great for the price.

Food isnt tasty at all, tastes as if boiled veggies have been put into gravy n served. Even garlic naan had no flavor, ambience is ok. Over priced for the kind of food they provide.

Indian food with above average taste, compare to other hotels in San Francisco down town. Affordable price. This is very next to a reserved car parking in Jackson Street.
