The only positive thing i can say about this place was that the staff was friendly. Kind of. There was obviously language issues. We were seated right away and when I told the hostess that the place smelled fantastic (and it did) and asked how the food was, she gave a little noncommittal smile and shrug. We should have left right then but I thought it was a language barrier thing. We didnt know how to pronounce the names of the food and neither did the waitress who finally came to take our order about 15 minutes after being seated. This was much too long since there were only 6 other patrons and they were already seated when we got there. Then we waited forever for the food to come. I ordered something seafood that was suppose to have lobster, shrimp and scallops, my companion ordered chicken, both medium hot and an appetizer of fried bread with fenugreek. Both entrees were supposed to come with rice and mine in particular was supposed to come with saffron basmati. We got one little bowl of plain basmati to share. No saffron and my food had an obvious large chunk of whitefish in it and something that appeared to be crab, oh, and two shrimp with what seemed to be some of the shells still intact. That ended the meal for me. The appetizer came out after the entrees were served. Overall this was a terrible experience and we would never return.

I go to cafe india twice a week!the food is very good over there!!And more over service is excellent the waiters are very helpful with what ever you want!! It is definitely better than any other restaurants in Lynnwood and Seattle area!!! You should give a try at least once during the buffet which is for the whole week from 11:30 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 10:00 for dinner!!!If you go for the dinner try out the Indian platter or chicken pakoras for appetizers, mango lassi or coconut milk shake for drinks,Chicken tikka masala or chicken korma for chicken,Boti kebab masala or Lamb Rogan Josh for lamb, Bombay shrimp curry or Fish curry for fish.Tandoori shrimp salsik or Chicken Tikka for chicken, Cafe pary biryani for two or lamb biryani for Biryani and at last desserts Mango custard, rice pudding ,gulab jamun and Ras mali.Try any of this food and you will come back to cafe india. And more over the prices are very reasonable becase the thing over there are freshly cooked.

First time here, came for dinner. Place was not too busy, but clean. Ordered 2 dishes to share. Ordered the chicken Tikka masala and lamb saag. Both curry dishes was ordered at 3/5 star. Also ordered a garlic prata bread. For drink, I also ordered the mango Lassi. So breakdown of food, taste and portion was great! Definitely worth coming back for again. Meat was tender and flavor was spot on. The spicy level is actually on the more spicy side. Im used to eating spicy food all my life, and when ordering, the waitress was quick to tell me that I should go with a 3 or a 2 for the spicy level since in here its spicier than normal. She was right. The garlic prata was great. Mango Lassi was bomb as well. Next time, I would go with a 2 stars for spiciness and would definitely recommend visiting this place and give it a try. Its a little gem to have a good Indian restaurant in this area!

We moved to Puget Sound last year to retire, leaving behind our favorite Indian eating place in Colorado Springs. We have tried 5 other Indian places up and down I-5 from Bellingham to this one in Lynnwood, looking for a good buffet. This one at Cafe India is the only one that we can speak highly. Nice variety of dishes, tasty, and the staff were pleasant. Cannot speak to non-buffet options but that is why we like indian buffets. You get to control the size of the helping. If a dish is not to your liking, you load up on the ones that do hit the spot. We go at lunch hour and seems to be a decent crowd that likes their food. No waiting with a buffet. We were seated when we walked in and were eating a few minutes later. Decent prices too. Be aware that they stop buffet at 3PM and reopen I believe at 5PM with no buffet.

Weve eaten here twice now, both times for dinner. Both times have been consistently excellent and I have been impressed with everything I have eaten. The naan is fantastic (Ive eaten the plain, garlic, and chicken- which is made with tandoori chicken). The lamb vindaloo is hard to find on the menu because it is listed at the top under the chefs recommendations and not under lamb dishes, but it is out of this world (if you like hot vindaloo, this is it!). The tandoori dishes can be a tiny bit on the salty side, but everything comes together beautifully. The saffron rice is nice long grain and not sticky, papadums are crisp and hot and come with nice sauces, and everything else is great. When I come to Lynwood to visit my sister, I try to come here. I have not tried the lunch buffet so I cannot comment on that.

We were looking for good indian food near the alderwood mall and came across this restaurant. We fell down with nausea next morning after eating their badshahi thaali. The chicken and mutton in the thaali was smelling of the animals sweat. The lamb dish was probably a left over from the lunch buffet. The raita was stinking, the gulaab jaamun had a hard core. The daaal and palak paneer were good though. This place has turned off my taste buds for chicken and muttton forever. Forgot to mention that the papad served at the start of the meal was soggy and the chuney that was served along was again stinking stale. Most of the items in the plate were well below the acceptance scale in authtenicity and flavor.

So we have been here twice now and both times we thought it was great. Now this is no 5 star restaurant so dont go in there expecting a 150 dollar tab and to die for food. With that said the price is right for us normal income type folks and the food for the price tastes great. My whole family loves spicy stuff (tobacco is just sour to us, so we like some serious heat) and this place runs on the upper end of spicy, where a 5 star is making us all sweat where most places we order 5 star and is "meh" spicy to us. So my recommendation, if you like spicy here, start out at 3 and work your way up, dont go all moncho into it on your 1st visit or else you may regrett it.

My partner and I are vegetarian, so we really enjoy going to Indian restaurants because theres a lot of menu items to choose from. Cafe India was no exception. Although the restaurant itself isnt that flashy, the food was excellent and the wait staff friendly. Were going to go back for the lunch special one of these days based on the excellent dinner we had this weekend. One thing is that it was fairly busy the Friday night we went, so the service was a little slower because of that. We werent in a hurry so it was no problem for us, but if you are in a hurry you might want to arrive for a little earlier dinner if going out on a Friday night.
