Wow, I cant believe it took me this long to finally come here, considering I live some five blocks away. Under renovation when I first moved in to the neighborhood, these folks finally re-opened earlier this year, with a new look thats still very befitting the saloon namesake - theres even a piano towards the back! But, contrary to what I expected, they serve up a pretty solid menu of fancy cocktails, with... well, a lot of liquors I hadnt even heard of before. I ended up trying their Grey Whale, which was okay, and their Whiskey Snap, which was fantastic. So, hey. Fancy $10 cocktails (the price is right), dog-friendly, and within walking distance of my home, so I can stumble back in a drunken haze? AWESOME. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Ive never seen this place super packed, so, given that, the venue is spacious enough that it shouldnt be too hard to get around. Most of their seating is either counter seating, or couch seating, so those of us in wheelchairs can just slide in to the sides that dont have any seating at all. The bar itself, of course, is the usual counter height, so youll face the usual difficulties there. Bathroom - Didnt check them out.

When I first came here, they had jazz and the drinks were cheaper. When I came here the 2nd time, there was an older douche that hit on my date, and the drinks were ace still. The 3rd time I came here, I asked if they had happy hour, the bar tender said, " no " Rudely and there was a Cameron Diaz look a like bird that came in, and she was asking about some job or something. Whats more, they had fried chicken. For an upfront bar, with jazz and a rogue gallery of hot, drab, and fugly customers, this place aint too shabby. All it needs is some rare import ales from England or Europe ( LECH or Belhaven ), and itd be a saloon of heaven!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon pub crawl and the bartender was more than accommodating to our rowdy group that took over the whole bar. She even offered to put snacks out for us if we called ahead next time. Ive been back since and unfortunately I have to take them down to 3 stars (from 4). First, they dont sell pitchers. (Really? This is a saloon, not a night club.) Second, the jukebox stays silent unless you crank money into it. The silence can be particularly awkward when youre sitting there on a weeknight with the regulars. Good thing theyre still relatively cheap.

Dog friendly with a great drink menu. A former divey blues bar, the Saloon has been upgraded while maintaining a very unpretentious ambiance. Wood finishes, arched windows and old style mosaic tile flooring, make you feel right at home. With a great selection of local beers, their taps and deep spirits selection will sate any thirsty craving. Staff is top notch. Locals are too. Three TVs and games are always on, but its not a sports bar. Its a very comfortable, local watering hole.

While I never visited the previous version of this laid-back cocktail bar in Dogpatch, I like the current version plenty. The bar has a refined "dustiness" which pays tribute to the bars 100 year old history. The cocktail list is varied and inventive, there are lot of places to sit, and the bar-goers were plenty friendly and down-to-earth. I recommend the Last Frontier with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Amaro Averna, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, Regan’s and orange peel.

This is the cutest bar! It has a lot of natural light from the windows that wrap around both sides of the building that face the corner. The antique details in the woodwork and fixtures brings a warmth to the place. The liquor bottles are beautifully displayed to catch even more light and create a well stocked bar. They always seem to have new exotic craft beers on tap. Its my co-workers choice for after work drinks.

Awful place do not go. The bartender had such an attitude. Tried to get a second drink and pointed to glass and ask for 2 more and he went crazy and dont treat him like a stripper. Trust me he is no stripper and not sure why he reacted like that. Went across the street to Smokestack. They were great!

The bar was all right. I have to say that it was super dim for me and my eyes were not having it. My boyfriend and I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was an all right drink. I love it when bars serve it copper cups! Seating was a bit difficult too so you may have to stand up for a bit to find a seat.

I also discovered this spot on a tour. This whole general area is rad. This bar is no exception. has a cool interior, friendly staff and some cool places to sit and lounge with your mates. I would and plan on coming back here soon.

Friendly local neighborhood bar where everyone seems to know each other. The cocktail I had was citrus-y and not too sweet. they allowed us to bring in pizza so its a good place to chill and also watch the Warriors on TV.

Great beer selection (at amazing prices) and interesting cocktails. I love the vibe here since the renovation, its airy and open while keeping the dark wood and detailed finishes.

Great, affordable neighborhood bar. The Dogpatch can feel off the beaten path at times but this place feels like walking into the bar from Cheers. Good selection of beers on tap.

Went with a large group, which was well accomidated. There were dogs at the bar- so that was great and it was fairly clean. Bought a $4 ginger ale...seems high...but its a bar.

Went here so a friend could come out with her dog. Was nice she could bring her dog in. If it wasnt for the dog, Id find somewhere else to go. The staff was friendly though.

Filthy. Shopping carts have all been stolen by the homeless. Half of the items in the store are under lock and key. There are always enormous lines at the checkouts.

I went there today and was disappointed in beer selection and bad attitude from the guy behind the bar. What happened to bar tenders who actually tend the bar?

I always feel like Im walking into Cheers here, everybody knows your name. Even as the Dogpatch neighborhood gets trendier, this bar remains like family.

Happy to see this joint survive the new owner unscathed. Its a public house more than a bar: simple, social, and cozy.
