We made reservations here for a party of 12 for my sisters bridal shower/brunch. The reviews seemed a little mixed so I kept my expectations in check. Luckily everything was far beyond my expectations. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food took a bit of time to come out, but that is completely expected for a group of 12. But all food was brought out at almost the same time. Only one error on the orders, again, not too bad for the large group. But most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the fried chicken Benedict, which wasnt on the menu, but the waitress suggested it and it was incredible. The biscuit it came with was heavenly and the fried chicken perfectly seasoned and cooked. From others, the French toast was "the best they ever had". The corned beef hash was also a hit. Luckily it wasnt crowded and so it allowed for us to really take our time, we didnt feel rushed or pressured to leave. A small group of us stayed afterwards at our table and the waitress politely checked on us every once in a while to see if we needed anything. Randomly, we had to go back to that same area for birthday drinks for a friend and ended up going to Revival for dinner the same day. Again, was really impressed. Great evening ambiance, way more crowded than the morning, but service was still friendly, and the food was fantastic. I had the canneolini, which was really flavorful and the perfect serving size. It wasnt as heavy as I was concerned it might be. I would absolutely recommend this place and come back again!

Im so disappointed! The ambiance here looked so inviting: lots of people; delicious smells; interesting menu and great decor. But then I sat down at the bar. After a couple hours of "playing tourist" in Berkeley, I was looking forward to sitting and enjoying dinner. I placed my bag and camera on the bar. Before I even had time to take my jacket off, the bartender was trying to control my behavior: "Sir, world you please not point that camera at me?" I wasnt pointing it at anything. I simply set it down. She then went on to lecture me about her need to set boundaries. So, I set my own boundaries and decided to give my money to a wonderful Himilayan restaurant instead that is more interested in my patronage versus their boundaries. Unbelievable!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley for a "special dinner," normally to celebrate a birthday or holiday, but definitely too spendy to be in the weekly rotation. That being said, the food is lovely, as is the decor. Theres a wonderful tent-like area in the center of the restaurant (which I will be installing in my future dream apartment), and wonderful lighting and ambiance. They also make perhaps the BEST Moscow Mule I have ever had. Its a must-order every time I come. The food menu changes regularly, but Ive had the most luck here with the pork. Either the charcuterie platter or any main dish (I believe once I had a pork sampler, with four different kinds—AMAZING). Theres also a fantastic beet salad that is not to be missed.

Food Over Priced, Poor Service and Long Wait for the food This was my wife and I first time and last time to visit Revival Bar & Kitchen. The food was over priced with small portions and the food took a long time to arrive to our table. And our waiter wasn’t very good either. I had looked online at their menu early that same day to see what I would like to eat but at the restaurant the menu was different then what was online. They didn’t have the dish I had seen earlier. The swordfish was salty/dry and very small piece and the lamb dish was overcooked. $9 Vanilla ice scream was one scoop and it is just not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. They need to up their game.

Revivals menu can be really, really good, or just good. It kinda depends. They do a great job of rotating the selection based on the availability of food, but it can be really disappointing visiting and seeing your favorite selections missing from the menu. Revival focuses on butchery, and their entrees tend to focus on particular butcher experiences. Youll get things like a duck plate with thigh, breast, leg, confit hash, that sort of thing. They have some usual animals, like goat, but everything is cooked and served very well. Its high quality brasserie/charcuterie type stuff. They also have a great wine selection (not so much on the beer).

I love the food at Revival and have enjoyed myself there many times. Last night though, the service was not good. We arrived early, at 6:15 so the restaurant was not crowded, yet we waited too long for our waiter and by the time he arrived we had already been through the menu and decided on our dinner. We ordered drinks and food. Unfortunately, our food arrived before our drinks, so we sat with our salads in front of us quite a while. Our waiter, when asked why it was taking so long for the drinks, said it was because the bar was so busy. These seem like small concerns, and as I said, the food and drinks are great, but service is just as important.

Revival is a beautiful restaurant with a great location, but a bit pricey for Berkeley. I had The Cotillion cocktail (botanical vodka, vermouth) and it was very strong. Tasted a bit medicinal to me. The sweet potato tempura fritters were amazing, I definitely recommend that as an appetizer! For my main dish, I got the Risotto, which was good but underwhelming. The second best part of the meal was the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich (chocolate orange ice cream). Overall, I would not return because they only had one vegetarian option as a main course (it is a meat heavy menu - they are a butchery).

Located downtown Berkeley, near a bart exit. Revival Bar & Kitchen had a very cool interior. Started off with some good cocktails, they were made well and stiff. Dishes: Had the Revival Mix Grill. Was really good with 3 variety of meat options. Surprisingly ate it all, and was still hungry. Sweet Potato Tempura Fritters. Really good, probably the best part of the meal. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich. Great, wasnt too sweet. That was eaten very quickly. Its a bit pricey, but the ambience is a big reason why. I would definitely come back if not just for the bar.

We dined here before a performance at the university. The staff was aware of us needing to make a show because that was the first question they had for us, but service was really slow. Thankfully we had allocated 2 hours for dinner because we needed it! The food was delicious, but once our food came, our server never came back in to check on us. We had to flag someone else down who eventually got our server. Also, VERY slow behind the bar. While the food and drinks were good, I dont know if Id come back for dinner because of the slow service.

This place is totally fine. Typically, it is pretentious simply for pretensions sake. I wouldnt go there for the food as its overpriced and simply average by the local standard. The restaurant fills up early with theater goers and is empty later on. The bar is always busy though and its a lively and interesting crowd at the bar. They make wonderful cocktails. I would definitely recommend it as a bar with nibbles n bites and good/cool service
