A Secret Lies Within Whether you enter from the front or thru the back, you will be pleasantly surprised ("thats what she said?") of the cozy decor and amazing outdoor courtyard as you sit beneath lightly covered patio with lights all around you. The ambiance of the space is quite telling of Italy. They were able to capture the italian experience to the T. The Table Bread - Say No More. I wish that could be made into a song. If I had all night I would write about how the table bread changed my life. If it were a cottage, I would buy it, live it forever, keep it so clean, have people over on weekends. So warm, with its crunchy crust and gooey insides. It needs absolutely no olive oil, BUT if you choose to add it, it adds magical depth of flavor. Wow. Threes Company Three dishes we got were the cream of the crop (Why do people use that saying? Weird. Cream doesnt grow on crops. If it did, what kind of cream would it be?). First dish was Magical Mushrooms. I know why they call it Magical Mushrooms, but I cant tell you, youll have to experience that for yourselves. I am always down for a tasty stuffed mushroom dish, although they could have been bigger for the price. Second was meat lasagna. Cant ever go wrong with those babies. Unlike a lot of places that overcook their pasta and cheese, this place cooks it perfectly so there are no burning crusts and hard pasta. Third and best was La Regina. Regina must have been an italian goddess because this dish is absolutely amazing. That is if you arent allergic to shell fish or seafood. If so, please stay away or else you will look like Will Smith in Hitch. The dish had so much flavor and depth. The more you ate the more you got all the flavors of the clams, mussels, squid, scallops, crab, and shrimp at the bottom with the pasta.

The reviews of good food at Old Venice are correct, but they have way too many tables scrunched together which ruined the ambiance. We arrived about 7:00 on a Saturday night and was told of a 15 minute wait. We went over to the bar which is a very spacious area with a fireplace and even a few couches and tables to sit at. Before we could even order a drink, our table was ready (only about 3 minutes not the 15). What a difference. We had to squeeze through tables and chairs and they had to move the table to one side just to let my wife sit on the booth half. All night we could hear the tables next to us easier then our our conversation. They have a good idea with the decor, but have ruined it with the grab for more money with too many tables. I think it would be much better with at least 3-5 less tables in the restaurant. I would give it a 1.5 stars for this. The food started out weak. The provided bread looked buttery and good spices, but was dry and tasteless. The Caprese appetizer had very good mozzarella, but the tomatoes were way too thick (the 3 slices should have been 5 or 6). Finally came out our main course (Chicken Marsala and Chicken Florentine). Both sauces were very good and the chicken was well cooked. If I had any issue, the pasta was just a little overcooked, I like it better al dente. But it was so much food neither of us could finish it. Even with the mis-steps on the bread and tomatoes, I would give it 4 stars for food.

I could not love a place more! The food is delicious, the staff is amazing and the venue is cozy and romantic. It was just perfect for our wedding reception! My husband and I had dined at Old Venice a few times before we decided to have our wedding reception at Old Venice and were never disappointed. We always have a great time when we enjoy an evening at Old Venice. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and we will never forget the memories we shared with our family and friends at Old Venice. We look forward to sharing every anniversary there (we will have to sneak in some carry out)!

Atmosphere was very clean as was the restroom. A bit Above Average lasagna but spaghetti was cold. Didnt get drink we ordered so 20 minutes later canceled drink. Bread was best part of meal. Staff was very friendly. If you are looking for a place to drop $170 for three people for slightly above average Italian meal, then this is the place for you. In all fairness, meal included 3 glasses of wine, a Mai Tai and two desserts. Perhaps next time, well try the Specialty Plates offered.

This place is beautiful and nostalgic! I went on Tuesday for the special and the food was really wonderful. Lots of flavors and fresh. Our waitress came to the table right away! Our waitress had an assistant that brought our drinks and also boxed our leftovers. We had a plane to catch and told the waitress, she had our food out quickly and checked on us often. I am excited to bring my friends here!

The food is amazingly good. The atmosphere is really nice too. We were there to see the band that was playing. People REALLY loved that band. Stoney B Blues. The only thing that I extremely DID NOT LIKE were those stools. They arent sturdy enough to hold bigger people. They tip easily and they are overly uncomfortable.

*Need ability to give fractional stars! This is a 4.5 or 4.6 out of 5* Ambiance is fantastic, making this more of a lunch date (special) than a lunch outing. Very pleasant experience for my wife and I on a impromptu meal out together. The salads are amazing, and the pasta is piping hot - delicious. Cant wait to return.

We had our wedding reception there last year and it was amazing! The serving staff was excellent and the food was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable and space was perfect for our 55 guest wedding. Overall, we were so happy that we chose this restaurant for our dinner reception!

Amazing. Homemade bread, dressing, sauce.... so good. If I could come here everyday I would. Just visiting san diego, but would come back just for this place. Good coffee & espresso too. Beautiful restaurant. Great service. 5 stars all around!

Amazing fresh home made Italian food! The pesto burrata appetizer and chicken florentine are a must try! You will not be disappointed...only been here once so far, but Im already planning to go back!

Great Italian food. I love the pizzas especially and the pastas are great as well. Not that good for anyone on a diet-the foods pretty fat and calorie dense.
