I have been going to this restaurant for a long time before its remodeling and I was really looking forward to having my celebration at the buffet. I made a reservation for 15 people well in advance and was expecting the same great service that I had experienced on numerous times before the remodeling. The biggest problem lies not with the staff but with the Ann Lin the new owner. When we arrived, the tables were set in such a way that most of my guests could not get up and good get food unless everyone else got up. When I mentioned this to Ms. Lin, she basically said, we dont have room for 15 people. This place is huge, there is room, there is no proper planning. When I insisted that the tables be moved around and 1 table be removed so that my party could sit and get up, she said there is no place to move the extra table. In addition, she raised her voice to me and the guests started to look at us and it was very embarrassing. to become the center of attention among all of these people. At the register, it took me about 20 minutes (and there were only 2 others in front of me) for me to pay the bill. The credit card machine had broken and I had to wait and luckily, I had my check book to be able to do so. Ms. Lin did give me 10% off for the inconvenience. I then told her that we had 6 seniors and I wanted the senior price that they are entitled to and she blasted back that she already gave me a discount and the she begrudgingly gave me a $1.00 off and as I understood as to their pricing, it should have been $2.00 dollars off of each senior ticket. Her behavior and attitude affected the whole group and the atmosphere. This was a $275.00 ticket and this may not be a lot for 15 people but the aggravation and upset was not worth it.

A year ago I would have given this place a 5/5 stars. However, in the last 8 months they remodeled the place to make it look more contemporary and in the process increased the price by around 25% Do not expect fantastic food, but expect a wide variety of options. Sushi, Traditional Chinese, American, etc. There is lots to eat here and most of it is decent or even good. Their coconut shrimp are quite frankly amazing, and the sushi is really good too. Its not nearly as affordable as it once was, and the food quality did not improve significantly with the price hike. I used to go to this place two or three times a month with the family, but for the price we might as well spend an extra $10 and go to a nicer place like Black Angus or Outback. I only come to this restaurant when I have a craving for cheap Chinese food alongside a slice of steak. But know this, there is better American and Chinese food to be found all over San Diego county at a much lower price. You just wont be able to find both in one place.

Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Absolutely no one smiles and absolutely no one says HELLO or goodbye when you leave. SPECIALLY THE YOUNG GUY INCHARGE. Have not seen anyone that speaks English that much. They had food and gum (That’s right “GUM”) Stuck to the clean dishes. Twice in one visit. Also the young guy in charge started a loud fight with a several well dressed customers right in front of the restaurant using profanity OVER A CUP OF WATER. The service got worse when he came back. Improvements: I would like to see a complete change of management. And an etiquette school for the entire staff and a cleaner environment especially in the kitchen.. Other: there is an old Chinese proverb that says: “A man that does not smile should not start a business”. Food is good the first couple of time you eat there, but soon you find that not much satisfies. It’s good for young uncaring crowed that just want to fill their stomach with what ever, fast and cheep. You get what you pay for..

Despite the fact that It was really crowded when we went and some of the most sought after items were not readily available, but there were quite a few other items to select from. They get downgraded to 3 stars only because: 1 - The bathrooms were beyond nasty. They need to do a much better job monitoring and maintaining them. 2 - Some of the staff could use some serious customer service training. One of the Asian waitresses was despicable with a nasty attitude. You know how you can tell which one she is. Shes the ugliest one out of all of them. I got an idea why dont u put her in charge of the restrooms (where she belongs). That would be a great job for her instead of having her around customers with her nasty attitude. Win win situation: clean bathrooms and happier customers.

This buffet is cheap, $16.49 for dinner on Sunday, weekdays and lunch time are even cheaper. But the food quality is so-so. They use a lot of crab imitation in rolls, no real crab at all. Too much starch in Orange chicken (about 80%), everything looks too greasy. Their desserts dont look good, I didnt even want to try them. And canned pears and peaches at summer, in the middle of a season! My husband tried some fruits with chocolate from the chocolate fountain (fondue), and that chocolate doesnt taste good as well (they add something to it, as it hardens in about 10 seconds). Weve tried it, but it doesnt feel we want to try it again. I would pay 5 dollars more for a better quality buffet and get what I want to get. Cheap place and cheap food.

I wish I could give this place no stars!! We went on a Saturday night and it was horrible!! On google it says they are open until 10:30 so we went at 8:45 and when we got there they had stopped putting out fresh food. And by 9:20 they started pulling up all the food! And turned off the ice cream machine. They was coming to our table telling us to go get plats of the food that was left over if we wanted it, and saying we hey are closing soon. So we ate what was left , and they brought us our bill. And they changed us full price when we was not able to even get over half of the food they should have had out. So for two people out bill was $37!!! So I will never go back!

I enjoy going here when Im starving and looking to punish my stomach. They have a good assortment of sushi, salad, and entrees. I wouldnt recommend going right before they close because they dont restock (which is no surprise). I personally like the salmon sushi, milk rolls, vegetables, and salad. There are some people that go solo, so you shouldnt feel left out. I have to admit Im a fatty sometimes and go by myself and eat like 7 plates of food. Meals also come with a free drink (tea, soda, etc) Id definitely recommend going for lunch as its pretty reasonably priced. Dinner and weekends is a bit more expensive at 12.99

Amazing variety. Only two things wrong: the freshness of the fruit and the old lobster roll (not a sushi roll) I tried. Everything else was delicious, including the sushi. I was blown away by the quality of sushi for a chinese buffet. The sushi chefs are right there preparing the sushi as it dwindles down from hungry guests. They even had a stir fry section where they cook your selection in front of you. I had to skip this because the line was too long. I will definitely be coming back.
