This is the best banh mi sandwich in San Diego. Dont be put off by the outside or the modest interior. My favorite is the barbecued pork sandwich---it has the refinement of Vietnams long association with France. The Readers Tin Fork review got me here years ago, and I agree with Ed Bedford that with their French influence, they do barbecue better than anybody else. Of course it is not the pulled pork sandwich of America. But for my money it is better. Loads of flavor. Delicate, and with a zip if you keep all the jalapeño slices on it. Great. The restaurant is very clean and the owner who takes your order is really a nice person. I have been going there for years. It is so inexpensive. Definitely the best buy in San Diego sandwiches. And, I will add that I owned restaurants for twenty years, so I take food very seriously.

This a true hole-in-the-wall best Vietnamese sandwich in San Diego. Dont be deceived by the the decor, it make look run down but they make the best sandwiches. Packed with meat, and veggies. Other Vietnamese sandwich places give you some weak served sandwiches, not this place. Plus if you buy 5, you get one free! Wish the place would get more credit but its easy to miss on the main road

Definitely the best Bale sandwich in San Diego! Too bad the parking spot is soooooo small but the food is always worth the wait.
