Full disclosure, I do not drink alcohol. But, I am told that people enjoy their alcoholic beverages, and the people at the bar seemed to be enjoying themselves. The lady bartender seemed to be in tune with the bar patrons and friendly. I went with my family to eat before a concert at Golden One Center. I had a cheeseburger, fries and a Coke. The cheeseburger had all of the trimmings. The server was very good and offered refills without prompting. The cheeseburger was nice and juicy, and their beer battered Rubicon Fries were great. The food was served hot off of the grill, and I appreciate that attention to service. The Rubicon Brewing Company is a casual bar and food establishment. It seems obvious that it is a community establishment will a loyal customer base. But, as a first time patron, I felt right at home. It has the feel of an industrial brewery and was clean. It is kid friendly too as the bar area is separated by a short pony wall. Customers were not made to wait unattended on arrival; they were greeted promptly on arrival and made to feel as guests. As we departed, we were thanked for our patronage of their business. I absolutely would be a return customer and urge people to enjoy what they have to offer.

My wife and I were here tonight. The beer and food were average; we’ve had better and worse. The service was actually quite good given the conditions. The place was crowded and noisy to the point of making this an unpleasant experience. We had the misfortune of being at the table closest to the entrance. Our table and my wife’s chair were constantly being bumped by someone trying to maneuver through the dining area. I also realized that there were far more occupants in the place than allowed; the posted occupant load is 99. I wonder if the fire marshal is aware of this? The manager obviously does not care. There seemed to be many regulars here as well as a tour bicycle group, all of whom added to the general chaos. But when looking at the other seated diners it was obvious that we were not the only ones who regretted eating here. The also allow smoking and dogs on the dining patio. We will not return.

My Husband and I came here last Saturday for the first time. I previously had their Monkey Knife Fight Pale ale and thought it was pretty good. We thought it would be nice to come here for an afternoon lunch on a nice day. Unfortunately we had very poor service. The sign says seat yourself, but it took 20 minutes for anyone to notice we were there. We ordered a few beers and the chicken sandwich. The food service was very slow and my husband had to wait over 20 minutes for a refill on his beer. When we finally got our food they messed up our order. They took the beers we had off our bill to make up for the long wait, but I would have much rather paid for everything and had better service. I think it might have just been an under staffed day and will consider returning again to give them a second chance.

I have never written a review, but after a truly horrible service experience at Rubicon, I feel compelled to share. I have never been treated so horrible at any restaurant, let alone at a brewery. Our server was not only rude but down right angry, confrontational and scary. After being a regular, I have decreased my visits substantially. However, I love almost all of their seasonal beers and just can stay away, but now sit at the bar because it seems a little safer there. I guess their business is good enough they dont have to hire or train skilled servers with any customer service experience. If you go in with a combat attitude, you wont be disappointed.

I would have to say 5 stars for the beer, 1 star for food service. My boyfriend likes this place because they have 1/2 price beers on Tuesdays. It seems to be pretty popular with the beer loving crowd in Sacramento. However, the last time my boyfriend took me there it was like the servers didnt want to take food orders from people. It took so long for the waitress to bring us a menu, to come back and check what we wanted, and even longer for her bring our food. I guess if I was drunk the time would have passed faster, but alas, I was not.

A favorite spot of mine to frequent in Midtown. While living near by in Midtown I quickly came to love Rubicons brews and meals. Their Czech Pilsner is one of the best pilsners brewed in the Sacramento area. Rubicons menu has downsized in the past couple of years, but they still make great burgers and serve up some awesome fish n chips. Come visit on Wednesdays for a burger & brew special or all-you-can-eat fish n chips. Thursdays have a special firkin (cask) release each week.

I like that this place is local, and its been around for a long time. However, the foods a pretty mediocre version of pub fare—lots of fried things and a few sandwiches, and the beer is kind of hit and miss. For a while they had a good grapefruit IPA, and a good Czech-style Pilsner. Their Monkey Knife Fight IPA never seemed very good to me. And its crowded. And the clientele in the bar area seems to be a bunch of rowdy frat boys.

Заказали пиво без горечи, принесли обычный эль, официант не разбирается в пиве. Куриные крылышки на гриле оказались просто в соусе гриль.Ни какой интересной фишки в этом месте не обнаружил.

The beer is good enough to make me overlook the bad food but our waitress was rude and snarky. To top things off we had to ask three times for our check so we could leave. Her snarky comments and rude attitude left us all feeling very uncomfortable. If youre looking for a good place to enjoy some brews. Keep looking, there are other bars in Sacramento that serve Rubicon Brewing Co beers without the attitude.

This joint always comes through. In a busy part of town I can always count on this place to deliver. Fresh beer,(ask the bartender whats good right now) easy going crowd, always a seat at the bar among friendly regulars and neighborhood peeps and patio space for those outdoor chilling kind of days. Not to mention, satisfying reasonably priced eats. The wings are fantastic, if youre into that type of thing.

Love this place. Local brewery serving a small selection of better than decent beers at a lower cost than most of their competitors. The food is standard pub fare but, it is good pub fare. The bacon and bleu cheese burger or the fish and chips paired with their Hopsauce Double IPA are my kryptonite. One of my favorite spots in Sac is their patio on summer evening with a Hopsauce in hand.

Just an okay experience. Went there to hit it before it closes forever. Maybe the employees are over it already. I dont know. They were friendly enough, but it didnt seem like many were going to miss being there. And that came though in the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Beer was more of the same. Nothing spectacular. Sorry I missed out in this place in its heyday.
