I liked the food for the most part. Good sauces and sides. This was my second time and i was really hoping to like it better this time. I went there tonight on a date with my wife. It was busy and it seemed like they must have been understaffed. The front staff were nice and got us in a little early. We were seated and waited for 20 minutes to order. We ordered the fondu appetizers, the filet and the scallops. It is pretty expensive. Around $30 a plate. After about 15 minutes bread came. Water ran dry but no fill up until a busser came by about 30 minutes later and asked if we wanted water and bread. After more than an hour after we ordered the meals arrived. I asked about our appetizers and they said surprised, "Didnt you get that? I can go get it if you still want it". We said yes and it took about 10 minutes. The waitress said that she yelled at the kitchen staff and they got in a fight because it shouldnt take an hour and a half for the appetizer especially fondu. It was weird. The food was really good but the water cups are so small and the water never came. We finished eating and we were asked if we wanted dessert. We said no but she said I am going to get you some spoons and will get you a dessert on us. We reluctantly agreed and waited for her to come back with the menu, but she disappeared for 35 minutes and until she brought out a dried out cream puff with ice cream, which, by the way, is a third of the normal dessert because ordered it last time. It was ok but at least there was an effort I thought. When we finally got the bill I saw she put it in as a birthday dessert. Oh well. I tried to pay with the the remaining $15 or $20 we had on a giftcard and my debit card. They said they couldnt take the gift card because it was demagnetized and they were too busy to call corporate. They said they might call me on Tuesday or Wednesday when they have extra time to play around with it. Really? Tuesday is a little late dont you think? So I put it all on my debit card. I did like the food quite a bit, but the experience was overall very poor and took over 2 hours to get out of there. Thats crazy. It doesnt help that the chairs are so uncomfortable and my wifes back was aching after all that time. I felt like they were understaffed, uncaring, and inconsiderate. They could have at least comped the appetizer. We dont plan to return. I will try anything twice but I dont think they get a third chance.

Well, after coming to La Provence for many years, actually since the beginning we have finally had it. What a shame, such a lovely place and with mediocre to bad food. We spent Christmas eve there and were disappointed for the last time. We didnt care about the price, $45.00/person. We understand what it takes to open on such a popular home celebrated evening, but come on, the food was terrible. The entre was under-seasoned or over seasoned depending on what you ordered. My wife ordered a virgin margarita, which was so sour that it was undrinkable. They were sorry and offered a strawberry daiquori in its place, which was also sour and undrinkable. Wow, a bartender that cant make a margarita! The Prime rib was served cold and unseasoned, no taste. I made the big mistake of ordering the agniotti, which are small cheese stuffed raviolis. The plate was the size of one of those small olive plates about 8" long with about 7-8 quarter sized raviolis served over a bed of vegetable puree. Totally tasteless.....no salt or other flavors. The cheese stuffing was non-existent in most of them. The puree was like mashed parsnips, but no salt or other seasoning, and they call this farm to fork, come on. I believe the ravioli dough was oriental wraps off the shelf, very thin and so overcooked that what little cheese that was inside fell out when you tried to pick them up with a fork. Wow, what a mess. The manager pretty much comped our entire meal. That is not what we were looking for. The owner is really missing the boat with this place. Great ambiance, good location, decent servers but are not motivated. Please, please get some quality control in the kitchen and bar. All you need is good quality food and consistency, it all starts there. Price is not a problem. The place was packed with well dressed people obviously willing to pay a good price for good food. My suggestion is, DO IT or SELL TO SOMEONE WHO CAN AND WANTS TO........Last time for us under this style of management and ownership

Ill never eat at La Provence again. They ruined my 2016 Valentines day dinner with my wife. We booked a reservation online via my iPhone. LA PROVENCE FAILED TO MAKE ANY EFFORT TO COMMUNICATE IN A NOTICEABLE WAY THAT THEIR USUAL MENU WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE. We have a couple favorites there. "Should we get the smoked goat cheese appetizer or artichoke dip?" my wife was asking me as we drove there. When we got there, they handed us a "Valentines Day Menu" that was completely different. THERE ONLY ONE COURSE AVAILABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF $80 PER PERSON! I asked if we could still order off the regular menu and the waitress said no. I was thinking, this is horrible. Should we leave? Were can you get a good Valentines dinner without any reservation at 5:30PM on the day of Valentines Day? NOWHERE. I came prepared to spend $80-90. But there was no way in hell I was going to spend $160. BY FAILING TO CLEARLY COMMUNICATE THIS CHANGE IN MENU, LA PROVENCE PRECLUDED US FROM CHOOSING A RESTAURANT THAT WE WOULD LIKE AT A PRICE THAT WE WERE COMFORTABLE WITH. They profited by deceit. They tricked us. They were also deliberately price-gouging on Valentines day. In the end, because we knew it would be impossible to get in at a different restaurant by that point, my wife ordered and I ate nothing. I walked away hungry and got pinched $100. Im about to sue them in small claims over this, even if I lose, Ill at least get to make my grievance clearly known to the owner.

4 of us went for Sunday brunch a couple months ago when it was warm. The advertised jazz music was not there, but some instruments were there. No musician, though. There is lots of outside seating, but its all on dirt, as if you just killed all the weeds and grass and said "okay this will work". The service was quick and good except Im not a big fan of servers trying to convince me how great everything is "Isnt that coffee just to die for?" etc. Okay so now for the food. Several of us had a variety of eggs benedict, and the food was hot and the sauce was good, but one of us had the yolk already broken and running all over the plate - how hard is it to poach another egg, especially for a $14 selection? And what kind of server says "Ahhh, theyll probably never notice."?Another had a chef salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was dried out, probably from yesterday. We also had a fresh fruit cup and while the fruit was certainly not from a can, it was also not fresh. You know how cut melons get after they sit in the fridge a few days? But heres the coup de gras - we also had lescargot, and they were fine, but no bread. I asked for bread because the blueberry muffins didnt seem like the the right medium to soak up the garlic butter. Finally the servier apologetically returned with stale baguette from the day before. A French restaurant with no French bread. Thats just not good.
