I was very disappointed with the food. After reading all the positive reviews. I decided to take my family to this place for a nice new years eve dinner, but... NEVER AGAIN! !, even though our waitress was nice (reason for my one star) our overall experience was TERRIBLE. I ordered "the house special" steak and lobster, a $35.00 dollar plate, and let me tell you it was Nasty!! my lobster was overcooked and mushy , it had no flavor at all. I just couldnt eat it. My garlic mashed potatoes was runny, my steak was dry and had no flavor. Also my husband ordered the New York Steak ( a $20 something plate), it got him feeling sick. The steak was covered in this nasty brown mushrooms sauce, also his mashed potatoe was watery and disgusting. My girls ordered the lasagna, they couldnt eat it because they said it tasted like bagle bites, (and they like bagle bites, but NOT a lasagna to taste like cheap bagel bites). I am so very disappointed, we spend so much money and was very disgusted with the food. We are never coming back to this place. I certainly DONT recommend it.

With the Liberty Hotel gone, there just wasnt anyplace in East County that combined excellent cuisine, fine dining, service beyond compare and an atmosphere appropriate for such a venue...... that is, until La Veranda opened on Railroad Avenue. Give it try, you wont be sorry! The food is to die for and you can spend $50/plate or $20/plate depending on what you order. But please people, show some class. If your going to wear jeans and/or shorts or you want to get loud and rude in a bar, please go to the Olive Garden nearby or, head over to Caps in Brentwood in your camo hunting attire and leave those of us who truly enjoy a fine restaurant to savor the only one with the right combination of amenities in East County. We loved the Liberty Hotel when the Santosos ran it. We even held our wedding there. We were sorry to see it go. Furious to see it turned into a brew pub. La Veranda is sure to garner the same status as the Liberty Hotel once did. Pittsburg has a jewel there!

We went to this restaraunt for lunch on Valentines day, were seated and began looking at the menu. The waitress came to our table with a platter of bread and olive oil and 2 glasses of water. She asked me how I wad and then dropped the water and olive oil all over me. Soaked in freezing water and my dress ruined by the oil, the waitress says sorry and asks if we would like another table. We decided to just leave since I was soaked and now cold. On the way out, we were offered a free dessert if we stayed, which in my opinion, did nothing to resolve the problem or make me feel better. We left and I called to speak to the manager about this incident and all he said was "I dont know what to tell you besides it is the girls first day of training." Awful customer service!! This was our first experience here, and will definitely be our last. If you choose to eat here, I suggest you wear a raincoat.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant last weekend and our experience was just...ok. The atmosphere was nice but you can tell that the service staff is a little inexperienced. Theres no indication that you have to wait to be seated so people just waltz in expecting to find a table only to find themselves being sent back to the couch to wait. The portions are small. I ordered the chicken picatta w/ the mashed potatoes and literally got 3 chicken nugget-sized portions of chicken and 3 bites worth of mashed potatoes. We did get a complimentary dessert for being first-timers. All in all, it would have been a better experience had we gotten more food and if they had a podium for the hostess so people do not assume self-serve seating.

I love this place and take all my clients and special engagements here. This is the nicest, classiest place in Pittsburg and a sure bet for quality, Italian food, great ambiance, great location and parking and good prices. Located downtown in the rapidly reborn-renovated historic area of town...its exciting to see such a quality restaurant lead the way for other eating establishments, that are opening up in this cool part of town. This is much better than anything in Antioch or Central Concord. Worth the trip if you want to impress and save money.

I came a few years ago on my birthday. And the waitress was very sweet and friendly. Food was good, not many options like Olive garden. But its authentic Italian food. And Im forever grateful to her since she introduced me to one of my fav drink a white wine spritzer!! Its any kind of white wine with sprite. And I loved their cheesecake with raspberry sauce at the end. And it has nice ambience and lighting. And in the summer the outdoor seating is really nice!

I was pleased to learn there is an upscale Italian restaurant in Pittsburg. The ambiance of this restaurant is very nice for the area. The menu was even impressive - a thorough selection of Italian cuisine. However, the food was below par. I ordered the chicken piccata and my chicken came out burnt. The polenta was less than tasty, unfortunately. I did find my carpaccio appetizer good. They also have a good selection of wine.

Its one of my favorite Restaurants at the Marina in Pittsburg CA. Mr. Johnny Kalilieh greats you then his staff interact with you, making you feel relax, welcome and mellow. Have a TV where you can enjoy watching your favorite Sports teams. Food is outstanding! My favorite Dish is Fruta Di Mare and a glass of prosseco. I Recommend it 100%. You will never regret it! I believe its located at 444 Railroad Ave, Pittsburg, CA. Enjoy!

Reason for score (based on one visit) Quality of food: 4 - bread, salad and pasta were all tasty and plentiful, wine list pretty limited (but generous pours!) Atmosphere: 5 - very comfortable, quiet, homey. I felt very at ease. Service: 4 - Very friendly and reasonably attentive Value: 5 - Prices were very reasonable given quality of food and portions. Bottom line: I would definitely go back if I were in the area.

Fantastic food, super friendly staff, and warm homey atmosphere. My Italian hubby has dragged me all over California for an italian meal that compared to his grandmas. We have been searching for over 9 years, and tonight we found it! !! Very gracious owner, and family owned and run to boot. Fell in love with this charming restaurant immediately.

As my wife and I continue to try out the restaurants in Old Town Pittsburg, we came here where they had a solid wine selection, and during happy hour we ended up ordering four of their $5 half order "appetizers" which were great and ended up being our our dinner we were so full. We had the Calamari, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Clams and mixed greens salad.

One of Pittsburgs Finest! Delicious, Welcoming, Fast Service, and always a pleasurable experience. The taste of fresh ingredients and food cooked to order is the best part. Its difficult to find great restaurants that still cook this way and dont outsource to the cheaper garbage packaged stuff. Did I mention the food is delicious!?!
