I have a friend visiting from the Philippines and we had lunch together with my wife. I opted to try something different this time from the usual barbecue chicken or ribs typical of Thai restaurant. I was very pleased with the service. Tada (our server) was very professional, had a cheerful demeanor but if you dont pay attention, you might get overwhelmed with choices you get from her. But she was very patient with us. We started with fried calamari for our appetizer. The rice vermicelli with fish ball in green curry was great. Tada was gracious enough to mix it for us. Seafood fried rice was very generous in size and we have to bring almost half of it home. It has squid, mussels, scallops, shrimps, crab pieces. Tom Yung Kung was served in a bowl good for three people so were good. We were pampered during our lunch so I could only speak for my own experience. I was focused on our conversation that I forgot to take pictures of the interior. There are patio dining but we went lunch time, and L.A. is having a heat wave this time so we dined inside.

Saladang was just alright - my main feeling was that everything tasted very heavy. Thai food is supposed to be flavorful and light. We had Tom Yum Goong, Tom Kha Gai, Pad Thai. It tasted as if many substitutes were used for ingredients. Lemongrass is a key ingredient to many Thai dishes but I didnt see any lemongrass in any of the dishes we ordered. Instead everything tasted overly sour as if lime was used in substitute, whereas lemongrass provides a subtle sour flavor. The Pad Thai was also unusually thick and I can only describe the flavor as "ketchupy" as if that was the main ingredient used for the sauce and flavor. Overall, I wouldnt visit again. This is only the second Thai restaurant Ive tried in LA so there are many more to try. Side note: The staff were very courteous and friendly!

Shrimp Pad Thai with one shrimp? I get to go orders here about once a month. I enjoy the food and tip well. I got an order with just one shrimp so I called them up. They could care less that their Shrimp Pad Thai only had one shrimp in it. In fact, they told me they usually only have two pieces of shrimp in the dish. Wrong, I eat this regularly and generally get a nice portion of shrimp. For your cheapness, your fired Saladang.

Easily the best Thai in Southern California. The red curry noodle is so rich and creamy. The Pad Thai is cute with an egg blanket on top, and even the kids have delicious fried rices to choose from. Highly recommended. Front parking is tough during busy times, so expect to park in the back lot or pay for street meters. Come in the late afternoons and evenings for outdoor seating in a tranquil garden.

This is a great restaurant if you want to impress a date or try some very interesting thai plates. I especially love the apple salad, coconut fried shrimp and corn fritters. The best feature is the ethereal outdoor patio with high walls. If you come here for the sunset you can see it peeping through the carvings in the wall and for a moment you feel like you are in thailand.

We sat outside on a brutally hot day, but the Thai tea and the incredible food made you forget the gruelling weather. The location of this place probably hurts it, but once people try it out, they will be dying to come back for more! I want more right now but alas it is to far for me to go. I cant wait til my next trip to LA to have more or this awesome Thai food!!

Best Thai Food. The food here is wonderful and well presented. The prices are amazing. The staff is polite and see you coming before you get inside. The most beautiful Thai restaurant I have ever visited. Great place for a date! I recommend the green curry, but I dont think you can go wrong with anything here.

There are two restaurants across the parking lot - same name. The food was good. Pad Thai was wrapped insdie an egg, which was interesting. Curry dish was good. Green papaya salad was good and thats alot to say for someone who only likes meat.

Shocking overcooked seafood platter with rubbery squid and hard shrimps bathed in grease for all of $22 per plate. Advised management who didnt even offer to comp the awful dish. Please avoid this shocking tourist trap.

Great Thai food in Pasadena a short walk from Huntington Hospital. The little sister to the main Saladang restaurant next door. A more casual, laid back, experience (with a smaller menu) than the main location.

Decent food, smaller portions than what at least Im used to for family style Thai food. Decor is nice but the high ceiling with the industrial look makes this place really loud with only a few people in it.

The quality of the food is nothing like it used to be. The decor has not been updated since the last time I came here over 10 years ago. Service is still good.

This place is a few dollars more expensive than nine and nine, but not quite as good. However, the outdoor seating area is really nice.

Delicious Thai food. There was a little bit of confusion on our order, but I cant lay any blame on the staff for that.
