tl;dr: -Free Parking: Across Raymond -Great Chinese food in OTP -Friendly Service -Nice beer, wine, and sake list -Good for casual date (modern interior) Quality Chinese food without fighting the battle that is Valley Blvd? Count me in. PARKING: Across Raymond in 90-minute free structure. Enter heading east bound on Green St (one way) for easiest access. FOOD: -Sukiyaki: Okay yes I ordered a Japanese dish at a Chinese restaurant, but thats only bc the dineLA instagram account posted a nicely filtered photo of it. Generous portion of beef and veggies served in a hot pot (note no fire included so the temperature isnt sustained). The wild rice substitution is a must order as I loved the QQ-ness and texture of the rice. Dont forget about the glass noodles on the bottom of the hot pot! -Hainan Chicken: Portion size of this dish is a bit on the small side, but chicken was cooked well. Side sauces add nice compliments to the dish, but if I were craving hainan chicken, I wouldnt come here specifically for this dish. SERVICE: Very prompt and friendly. Our server checked on us often and was proactive in refilling our water glasses (always a plus bc my boyfriend is basically a sponge).

Rubber Beef If organic means that beef turns to rubber, please sign me up for beef with toxins because I like my beef tender and chewable. The Satay Beef & Enoki Pot had beef that was literally like eating the sole of my running shoes. Almost 80% of the beef was inedible and needed to spit it out, which is a shame because the broth that its in is really good. The pieces were either rock hard, too chewy or all fat. Sign me up for Non-organic beef next time. 411: Organics vs. MSG (The Wiki-pedia Match Up) Organic foods are foods produced by organic farming. Synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers are not allowed. In general, organic foods are also not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or synthetic food additives. MSG (Monosodium glutamate) is used in the food industry as a flavor enhancer with an umami taste that intensifies the meaty, savory flavor of food, as naturally occurring glutamate does in foods such as stews and meat soups. MSG as a flavor enhancer balances, blends, and rounds the perception of other tastes.

Was pleasantly surprised at the food choices and taste. This was my first time here. I had eyed this place before but wasnt quite sure how it would turn out. Somehow the name made me think it was vegetarian. Nice fusion cuisine, Asian style mostly. I ordered the buckwheat noodle soup since it was a very rainy day, and seemed appropriate. Was not disappointed. Also got the turmeric ginger tea which was delicious too. The teas are pricey!

Prawn Tofu Wraps yum. That is what I get when I eat here. This is a casual place and nice to have a meal. Try their Steamed Chive Gyoza, different but I enjoyed the flavors on my tongue and the warmth in my belly. I also placed an order to go and took home their Vegetarian Egg Roll. Big hit with my wife.

Good organic food with a nice selection. I think they are most famous for the Hainan chicken. This is a new location compared to the one on Valley Blvd in San Gabriel. The staff here is courteous and helpful.

Casual asian dining using organic ingredients with such dishes like Hainan chicken. Good for Pasadena, but pales in comparison to the better Asian food found in other parts of the San Gabriel Valley.

Great service, great food. My favorite dish: The Beef Sukiyaki. Its just so delicious. I always eat every bit of it. The manager (John) is a great person too and very attentive and remembered us.

Had the vegetable noodle soup. Amazingly flavorful given its just a mushroom broth. More options than the one at San Gabriel. Not as many wait staff so getting to pay the bill was a bit slow.

Good attempt at elevating Chinese food. Dumpling soup is definitely one of the best in town. Salmon triangle is also worth a try.
