My wife and I visited this restaurant on Dec. 28 for dinner with our two daughters. My wife is Brazilian and it was recommended to us by an acquaintance at her church that had apparently worked with the owner in the past. We love Brazilian Rodizio and have tried all of the restaurants in the Bay Area. I have to say that I cannot understand how people are giving this restaurant 5 stars. The only explanation my wife and I have is that the majority of the people do not really know what the experience should really be like. We were offered 3 cuts of beef, 1 of lamb, 1 sausage and 1 drum stick. The meats offered at their website are: Sirloin Steak Garlic Sirloin File Mignon Top Sirloin Flap Steak Ribeye steak Beef Ribs Pork Ribs Pork Loin with Parmesan cheese Pork Sausage Chicken Legs Chicken breast wrapped in bacon Filet mignon wrapped in bacon Lamb. We received no ribs, ribeye, garlic sirloin or any other type of meat as we should have. After waiting 10-15 minutes between cuts of meat they brought a horrible basically raw filet mignon. The Picanha was very tough and chewy. The salad bar was nothing special and the Brazilian potato salad is not Brazilian at all, it is the basic potato salad you find at Costco. I have never felt so cheated and scammed. This is a cheap and basic restaurant trying to pass for something it is not. We stopped going to Espetus after the quality fell but we will never return here. At this point the only alternative is Fogo de Chao, while not on par with other Rodizios in the USA it is as close as you are going to get in the Bay Area. This place is ridiculous. In a Rodizio restaurant you should receive the different cuts of meat withing 2-3 minutes of each other. This restaurant purposely slows the process to force you to eat from the salad bar and at $50 a plate you are better off going to a nice steak house. This restaurant is not worth it you are being ripped off. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Stay away! The owner places his own fake 5 star reviews here and in Yelp. The majority of the reviews are not real. For every negative review an immediate 5 star review follows posted by his network of fake reviewers.

I had a 9:00pm reservation on Saturday. First, the waiter tried to serve is when we still had our buffet plates and our cards were red. He seemed confused why we didnt want it. Then, when we started the meat portion of our dinner, the waiter kept trying to give us the last burnt pieces of meat. I finally had to ask for a fresh Picanha. The waiter kept asking if we wanted to meat which confused me because our cards were flipped to the green side and Ive been to many Brazilian steakhouses and have never been asked that. I thought he was asking if we wanted more of that cut which is a normal question. In the end, we only received about half of the meat options and when I asked for the other cuts I was told it would take 20-30 minutes. I realized that we jmustve had one of the last reservations because we were one of two tables still there when we left and that the staff wanted to go home. For $50 a person I was extremely disappointed. Definitely not coming back. You guys should go to Espetus in San Francisco to see how a Brazilian steakhouse should be run

I am from New York and we have some great churrascarias there but the quality and service at Galeto are impeccable. The staff is very professional as well as inviting and the proprietor actually walks around his restaurant making sure the guests are well taken care of. The ambiance is great for large groups as well as an intimate date nights. The lighting is flattering for some great selfies. :) Also, do not be afraid to bring your vegetarian friends because the salad bar is amazing and the food is just so fresh. As for the cuts of meat, each one was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The top sirloin steak was my personal favorite as well as the bacon-wrapped chicken. Great quality for each category of meat. The desserts were also excellent and not too rich. Excellent food and service. I will be going back in April when my parents visit.

4/24/17 My family and boyfriend celebrated my dads birthday here last Friday and we were not at all disappointed by the delicious food and wonderful service. Brad and I found parking in the Marriott parking garage a couple of doors down (BIG mistake - $25 for less than 3 hours!!) Our table was served by several different people on the staff. Everyone provided excellent service and the food at the "salad" bar (which included so much more than salad) and all the meat being brought on hot skewers was so so good. Honestly I have no suggestions for improvement. Everything was on-point! Staff sang happy birthday to dad and gave him a free flan for dessert! This $50/plate dinner is a great idea for a place to bring family from out of town, friends youre celebrating with, or just because you feel like treating yourself to a fabulous meal!

Delicious selection of meat and a variety of salad options as well. Greeted & seated with a smile with a plate of appetizers served (including cheesy bread, fried bananas, etc) while you peruse the drink menu. Their salad bar has many fresh options as well as hot plates of rice, beans & other warm options. My favorite salads include a mango salad, cracked corn salad & jicama salad. Then the meat comes along. By far my favs are the sirloin and top sirloin. Juicy and salty and so delicious. Some other great tastes are the bacon wrapped chicken, the garlic steak, the flank, and the linguica sausage. All delicious choices and youll end up with a happy stomach and a nice food baby to take home.

Was I in heaven? Brazilian servers heading to our table every few minutes with all kinds of savory, succulent rotisserie meats grilled to perfection. That’s right, perfection. These guys got the timing down; not too rare and not too overcooked. This place is an absolute MUST for meat lovers. The salad bar was equally amazing with the melts-in-your-mouth baked salmon, steamed mussels, Quinoa salad, Caprese salad with mozzarella, tomatoes, and green basil. For dessert, I shared the Crème Brulee with my husband. Deeeelightful! Just describing my experience makes me want to go back to Oakland this weekend. They call it Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse. I call it BACK TO OAKLAND.

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The salmon was so good it melted in my mouth and the fresh salad was delicious. I also liked the fresh assortment of choices to add to your salad such as the beets and mango. I enjoyed the Brazilian breads that complement the meal. The real treat though was the sumptuous variety of meats that are served right at your table by very attentive waiters. My personal favorite was the top sirloin. Plan to pace your consumption so you can leave room for the elegant desserts. If you like the taste of fine meat and the ambiance of Brazilian culture this restaurant should be on your list to check out.

Oakland has, at last, a Brazilian steakhouse it deserves! Galeto Steakhouse House is a perfect fit for the vibrant night life downtown Oaklands has turned into. It is casual yet sophisticated! If you are a meat lover then this restaurant should be on the top of your list of places to go. The full course menu will take you to heaven, no joke. For the customers that does not crave for meat so much the salad bar will also be delightful. The restaurant doe not have a "full bar" instead is has a Tavern bar that still carrys a selection that would score a 9 out of 10! I will return to the restaurant for sure and refer it to everyone I know.
