The bakery makes both sweet and savory treats - custard tarts, small sandwiches and buns stuffed with cheeses and meats. All items are $1-3 each. Its a great place to stop for a quick bite and relax, or load up on treats while youre in Chinatown. UPDATE - This place is newly renovated & very clean. It has plenty of indoor seating. They recently added boba teas to the menu. Cash only.

Alice Street Bakery is a locally owned bakery, with a friendly owner and almost all of the traditional baked goods that youll find at any Chinese bakery. The goods are good, the staff is great, and the location is next to the park. Grab some goods, and enjoy it on a bench across the street, or better yet, get to Lake Merritt.

Food is good a bit more expensive than some of the other bakeries in the area. The location is nice that it is near the park but some of the staff is so rude its not worth going there. Walk a few blocks to one of the many other bakeries nicer staff better prices.

Yummy pork buns. Usually not crowded and easy to park in the area.
