Poor service. Sitting at the sushi bar was like being forgotten in a dark corner. Experienced April 6, 2015. There was only two people in my party, my girlfriend and myself. The restaurant had only three tables of patrons, and two parties at the sushi bar. My group of two, and a group of three (Father and two children). So you forgot both our dishes came with soup and salad... things happen. After the group to my right ordered, (the Father and two children), he was immediately served their soups and salads. I would not care, but we had already ordered 30 minutes prior to them even sitting down. We both ordered the EXACT same thing. Sashimi and Sushi special, substitute California roll with a specialty roll. My girlfriend was served after the three to our right were served. A little rude, but oh well. Notice I said my girlfriend was served. My plate was not ready. We ordered the same thing. You had both items on the order, and all the fish was in front of you. She slowly consumed her plate urging me to have some. No no mine is coming... I think. The chef proceeded to fill two more orders THEN he began to put my plate together. Why do two people go to dinner together? SO WE CAN EAT TOGETHER! Very rude! The flavor was great, but then the bill came. Granted the difference in the rolls we upgraded were $7 more on the menu. I expected to pay some more. However looking around the rolls are about 14" long when ordered by themselves. Ours were about 8". My extra fee? $20 to upgrade the rolls. UNLIVABLE! I will make plenty of recommendations to people about Oka. I recommend to avoid Oka. I recommend the Taco Bell across the street! Really Poor service. Really Poor value. For my experience anyway.

Oka serves up some of the best sushi Ive ever had, and I love trying out sushi bars everywhere I go. I was surprised that a little restaurant way up in the mountains would have such great, fresh sushi and sashimi. Their sushi rolls come in some varied and imaginative assortments, along with more standard fare. The atmosphere is great, and the service is always friendly. My favorite has to be the Ozzy Roll, though I love many of rolls. It isnt always easy to find a place that serves up delicious eel. Too often I have found eel at other sushi bars to be on the dry side (if not inedible). Oka does it better than most anyone. Delicious! Just writing this is making me hungry.

This was the worst Japanese Restaurant Ive ever been to. First off they have one tepanyaki table so unless you make a reservation you wont get to eat tepanyaki but they dont tell you that over the phone. Second the waitress forgot my water which didnt bug me so much until they got my order wrong. Worst part is I ordered chicken fried rice, got steamed rice she replaced it with regular fried rice. Then when we get our check I was charged for the chicken fried rice. Food was so average Panda express has the same food and you dont have to pay $97 dollars for it. I will never eat there again.

Ive gotten crazy in Okas several times with no complaints. Crazy meaning, tempura veggies and addamae for appetizers, hot soup, and then the Vegas Roll and Lets do it Roll (youll see when you read the menu) accompanied by hot sakki and Sapparo. Dont forget the tempura banana with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Tepp tables are available on weekends, and I have not tried them. Good atmosphere, music, ambiance, sushi bar, friendly but quieter staff. Enjoy!

those other reviews listed for this restaurant are fake, probably written by the employees there. the menu for this place is weird and confusing. it is very overpriced. there are no real combos that you can order, you have to create your own combo for a very high price. they really dont serve anything here other than sushi. if you enjoy a weird atmosphere, overpriced bad food, and idiot servers, then this is the place for you.

Huele más a comida china que Japonés, pero vale la pena, mucho mejor que segur comiendo comida " basura " y hamburguesas. Lo cogimos para llevar y comer en el hotel. Me pareció más agradable.

Im a local who hasnt visited Oka in a few years. I ordered to go sushi rolls. All 3 had distinct flavor...to die for! Everything was so fresh tasting and didnt fall apart on my short drive home. I highly recommend this long time local Japanese restaurant. Hostess Sarina was awesome at explaining each sushi roll to me over the phone. That was so helpful when you dont have a menu to browse over.

Best place around for sushi and Japanese food. The food is very light and doesnt make you feel guilty after eating, unlike Chinese around Oakhurst which is very greasy. I highly recommend eating here for a date, a fun family dinner, a special occasion or any time you decide to go out for dinner or lunch. There is great service too, I hope I can work there soon because I absolutely LOVE OKAS!

Io non ho mai visto del tonno fucsia, servito sul ghiaccio e degli spaghetti DOLCI (giuro, sapevano di fragola). A quanto pare alla gente del posto piace ma se siete italiani non venite qui

As far as sushi goes, there are better places for it out there. But, within Oakhurst this is the best youll find. Im not saying its bad, by any stretch: the sushi is fresh and enjoyable, its just not as good as something youd find in San Francisco. If you go in with that understanding, youll enjoy this place.

This restaurant is 5 stars. The portions are HUGE and delicious. The price was fair, service was great. Being in the "wilderness" just outside of Yosemite finding a nice sushi restaurant was a great discovery. We were extremely satisfied with Oka, and will definitely return when we are visiting Yosemite.

Sushi is very good here. The quality of fish exceeded my expectations for a town that far from the ocean. They have a lot of very tasty rolls. Rainbow, dragon, and Lets do it rolls were awesome. Staff was friendly and we got a spot at the sushi bar for 6 people on a Friday night. Not bad.

Fast and friendly staff/service. Really good food! Beer, sake, teriyaki...all great! Will definitely eat here again. (Also...most restaurants up in the mountains here have a little bit higher prices, but for a sushi/Japanese place, it was super comparable to other places Ive eaten.)

good food but I come out smelling like the place. They just need a better hood in the kitchen. I always go only if i have no where else to go afterwards. Because people can tell you just went by the smell. OTHER than that, Its awesome love the staff and the food.

Very delicious food in a mellow setting. Portion size was outstanding. Our server was very courteous and attentive. I had the "Spicy Seafood" and it was tasty. Not really spicy, but thats what the wasabi is for. It may be a tad pricey, but overall well worth it.

Was seaTed right away. Customer service was wonderful, friendly, helpful, thoughtful, but the food was less desire able. Orange chicken was hard, over done. Wasabi was beyond disgusting. Only one find of tea offered and that was undrinkable.
