Have been going to Fumi Sushi since it opened and liked it. But recently started noticing that portions are becoming really skimpy. Order a salmon bowl and typical contents are 85% rice, 10% veggies and 5% small skimpy piece of salmon. That is really not cool and I would rather pay the extra dollar or two they want bu I hate being cheated on the description of the menu item. It is a rice bowl, not a salmon bowl. Others will catch on soon and they will notice their business down. Too many restaurants start of great but dont understand how they feel they can take the customer for a ride.

Took my girl out to eat here on our 9 months. It was our first time here and although there were a lot of people there during the night, it brought out a great atmosphere. Everyone was enjoying their own time and so did we. We were very excited to try out this new and undiscovered place. Although each dish was on the pricey side, we still both enjoyed the ones we chose and they were well deliciously made. We would love to go here again and try out the new dishes they offer. The customer service here were friendly and are willing to help out any time.

Im not a fan of sushi so I cant review that BUT we had a teriyaki steak dinner plate, 2 teriyaki chicken bowls, and full order or vegetable tempura....AMAZING!!!! They serve lots of food and they are quick to refill your drink. Three of us ate delicious food and had plenty left over for just under 50.00! It was clean and waitress was very nice. The only drawback for me is a man (likely owner or manager) that kept circling around us and the whole restaurant while we were eating. He must of walked by us over 15 times. Other than that...amazing!

Was disappointed in the quality of the food as this was highly recommended. The best dish was the Calamari Appitizer. I had a sashimi salad and the fish was quality is poor and slimy and certainly didnt taste fresh. The other dish ordered was a dinner that we found the Calamari steak was over cooked and tough and however the salmon was cooked fine.

Its definitely Americanized sushi, but its the best in town. The fish is always fresh, the menu is full of plenty of tasty selections and variety. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And their take-out is also top notch. Quick Tip: The menu states that sashimi is chefs choice, but you can call it if you like for a small extra charge.

It was pretty good food. Service was ok. The one thing I notice when I go out to eat now is the waiters and waitresses dont really have a social personality. Pretty bland and to the point. The hostess is usually the only person who seems happy. That lasts about 5 seconds then they are gone. Good restraunt overall. Probably go back.

This is the only Sushi place we go to in Modesto... we absolutely love it. Service is always great, if they make a mistake they are eager to please. Food is fresh and delicious! Last couple times sushi was kind of stringy? Idk whats up with that... but wont stop my family from going there. Thanks Red!

If youre in Modesto and want an awesome roll, The OMG Volcano has your name written all over it. The Fumi Roll is good also. Ive been there a few times and Ive never had bad food. Service and atmosphere is decent. The food makes up for any short comings elsewhere in the restaurant.

Loved the quality of sushi here. It was very high quality and prepared fresh from the freshest ingredients. One thing I might add, do not come here if you are in a hurry. They prepare the dish from scratch so it will take a bit. I loved the Iron Man - would recommend it again!

Fumi Sushi is my favorite sushi restaurant in Modesto. The staff is friendly and the rolls are fresh. My favorite seat is the sushi bar up front where you can see the rolls being made right in front of you. The Sweet 16 and the Iron Man are two of my favorite rolls.

Food is great. Service was good, but sat at the sushi bar and the two guys making the sushi were very unfriendly. Would not make any conversation whatsoever. Made the whole experience very awkward. I guess I should have just sat at a table. Probably will not return.
