Restaurant week event let us choose one appetizer and one entree out of their restricted menu. I had the squash soup for the appetizer, braised short ribs for the entree. The squash soup was good and the short ribs were falling apart from tenderness. It was tender, but I felt that it lacked a bit of flavor. I wished I had my gfs kale and brussel salad with the Jidori chicken. Her dishes were really good. The salad had great sauce, and I loved the kale/brussel combination with their sauce. The jidori chicken was so juicy and flavorful. For desert we had the fruity cake, and this thing was pretty amazing tho. I am not much of a cake/dessert person but this thing got me. The venue was upscale, open kitchen setting. You can see everything the chefs are doing. I wish the weather permitted an outdoor seating because the view was so nice. I hated that we were seated in the booth next to the entrance, when you make reservations try to ask to be seated away from that area. The bathrooms are nice and big. Nature called me and I had to deuce, I felt like I was taking a dump in a big room. Nice thick paper towels to dry my hands to made me feel like a million bucks. Although their bar was super expensive (a bottle of local beer is $9+), you pay for the "luxury" or the view I guess. I probably wont waste money on the beer next time.

This is the absolute worst experience Ive ever had! We had reservations for New Years Eve which was our first mistake! Had reservations for 8:45 and we didnt even get seated until 9:30. And then we just sat. Not a waiter to be seen! Unbelievable... cant believe the price tag for now sitting on the patio because they cant manage to actually sit us in the building while it rains. Never again!!!!! This was our first time here. We had heard so many say we should try it since we were new to California. It was quite disappointing!

Pelican Grill is near Pelican Hills Golf Course which is located in Pelican hill resort. When you sit at the patio, you can see ocean and golf course. Especially, it is very beautiful when you see the sunset. Foods are really delicious and servers are very kind. It has an unhampered view and is decorated with luxurious interior. Try to have lunch or dinner weekend with a beautiful scenery. Menu: P.E.I. MUSSELS, MANILA CLAMS & FRIES, PELICAN GRILL CIOPPINO, KING CRAB LEGS, SHORT RIB, FILET MIGNON,RIBEYE, pizza etc.

As everybody mentioned ,portion of the food is in adequate considering the price ,the whole service was way less professional than expected ,first they brougth the food and we had to actually ask the waiter to bring over the propper set of forks and knives ,and for dessert they brought a spoon which wasnt properly washed ,but the signature dessert was delicious,all in all not what u expect for the sort of money u spend nor the place

We had an excellent experience all around. The staff and the environment were exceptional and although we stuck to lighter fare for dinner (wine, pizza, and salads), we were not disappointed. Props to our waiter, Mark, who was one of the better, more memorable waiters weve ever had! Although this was my first visit to Pelican Grill, I plan to return again on future trips to this area.

The restaurant has great ambiance, nice views of the ocean in the distance from the patio. The starters in the menu are to die for, especially the veg bruschettas. I am jain so I have more food restrictions but they were able to accommodate it with tastes to savor.. highly recommended!

Nice ambiance and good food except for the steak. Very cold inside. People put on sweaters as soon as they come in. Not a very comfortable temperature inside ilunless you like it cold. Otherwise its a good place to dine.

Maybe its the OC but this place is very chill and laid back for being at uppity resort. If you can stomach the $20 drinks, it is actually a comfy place to hang out.
