My husband & I along with our 2 adults kids made reservations for Sunday brunch at the coliseum. It was busy which is fine but the flow of traffic when you walk in is like the LA freeway during rush hour. There were people who had just visited the buffet with plates full of food pardoning themselves & bumping into folks checking into the buffet to get back to their tables. The buffet table was against a long wall in an L shape in a narrow rectangle room. In the center of this narrow room was a long & fairly wide rectangle table with a party of about 20-25 people that filled the space making it difficult to get to the buffet without bumping the back of someones chair, it was nearly impossible to walk around someone getting food. The orange juice batch that I tried was a bit sour & they couldnt keep up with the food demands. When I went through the line they were out of salmon & cream cheese & there were no bakery items left. I did see an attendant bringing a tray of bakery items but by the time I squeezed pass the buffet table they were gone. Our server was kind & polite so we were happy with her. They did have a glazed, baked grapefruit that was good but I would not go back for the price we paid to feel like you have to squeeze your way to & from the buffet bar. Recommend to re-evaluate the set up & flow of traffic. They have lovely grounds but this restaurant is least to be desired.

Being tourists, my hubby and I were brought here by a friend because he told us that the sunset was absolutely amazing here. And was he ever right!!! It was a quieter night when we dropped by for dinner. Service was impeccable, food came in a timely manner, and was also very delicious. We requested to be seated outside so we can enjoy the sunset, not realizing how cold it was going to get this week. I was a little chilly, and the server instantly grabbed me a blanket and turned the heaters on for me. What service! We shared the Calamari, Tempura, Casear Salad, Thai Fettucine Pasta, and Beef Filet. Everything was super tasty. The Calamari was Tempura were my favourite. They had a unique sauce for each of them that is not normally served with them. The Thai Fettuccine Pasta was also extremely good, but Im not very good with spice so I couldnt eat too much. I absolutely loved it here and the price is not bad for the view that you get!

We enjoyed a fabulous evening at the Coliseum Pool and Grill yesterday. My husband hosted a birthday party for me. They set up a round table in a cabana...like they have done for my last 2 birthdays. It was just perfect for the 10 of us. Our waiter, Stephen, was probably the best waiter we have ever had the pleasure of having in any restaurant. He was available when we needed him...but, never rushed us..and was so very kind. My husband brought a cake in from one of my favorite bakeries...He kept it cold...then brought it out on a lovely platter with candles. Then removed it and served it with berries to each guest. All of the entrees were elegantly platted and not over priced. The atmosphere was perfect. Watched the sunset...and actually stayed almost 4 hours...with no one rushing us or making us feel uncomfortable. Even the valet was so helpful...and friendly. Cant wait to go back!

My wife and I had just had a wonderful round of golf on the North course, and we just wanted to have a drink and a snack at the Coliseum. We ordered drinks and a barbeque chicken pizza. We then waited for around 45 minutes. During that time, the lovely British family at the table next to us got their drinks and appetizer, and they were just getting their meals when we realized that the server had given them OUR pizza as an appetizer, and it was now gone. We had not seen our waiter since placing our order, so I found the hostess to get the manager. After a little prompting from me, she comped our entire meal and drinks, which was the smart and appropriate thing to do. The pizza that we finally got was good.

One of the most magnificent places I have been. Service is impeccable! Everyone was just so friendly and nice. Only complaint are the bushes in the Northwest/West side of the pool have an enormous population of bees/hornets that are just unbearable at times. This is more evident when you order sweet alcoholic drinks or food poolside. These pests must go before the guests go! Also I must complement the musical pool entertainer. He was wonderful and played a wide variety of music for all ages and genres. I would highly recommend surrending time at this lovely spot at Pelican Hill Resort. *****

Went here for Newport Beach Restaurant Week. First time entering all the way into the Pelican Hill resort past Pelican Grill. Great customer service. Food was delicious! Food did take a little long to initially come out though. But eventually forgot about that after tasting the Lobster Bisque, Braised Short Ribs (very tender) and then the White Chocolate Panna Cotta. Didnt valet my car and just bypassed the valet stand and turned left into one of the unmarked parking spaces in front of the resort units where guests stay.

Terrible experience. My brother and wife were visiting from out of state and I took them here for breakfast yesterday after bragging about what a beautiful place it is. It was not crowded and there were plenty of open tables. The service was beyond atrocious and embarrassing. After about 45 minutes I had to flag down a waiter who took our order. We sat there again for a good 45 minutes and I finally had to flag down the waiter again to tell him the service was horrible and that we were leaving, Unbelievable!

Food was good, great view, nice location, decent service. Came here one evening to take advantage of the Newport restaurant week special dinner. We got a seat on the outside patio overlooking the giant circular pool, very beautiful. Our waiter was very nice and gave us recommendations. The food was very good and definitely well presented and made with quality ingredients. Valet parking at the resort only. Good spot for a romantic date.

Beautiful view of the coastline, excellent steak quesadillas and yummy pee wee potatoes. My family enjoyed Christmas dinner here but it was so cold with all of the doors open. They didnt want to close the doors so no one wanted to sit at the table across from us. We were across the hall from the hostess station on the bar side

Environment is awesome but service and customer service is terrible. I waited for 20 min until some one showed up to take our orders and after serving the food he vanished until i wanted to pay my bill. Not a good hospitalization for such this famous place manager should attention more!
