The place: its tiny, I was sitting right in front of the oven. The menu: several choices for pizza and desserts, but very limited choices for appetizers (2) and beer (3, only Italian brands). The pizza: I ordered a capricciosa. Ingredients were good and the pizza itself was very rich. Too bad they barely put any mozzarella on it, but just what appeared to me to be parmigiano. The crust of the pizza was a little harder than I expected. The dessert: tiramisu was quite good. The service: the place was busy and they also accept take away, which makes that tiny place even more crowded. You may expect delays in the service, but waitresses seem quite professional and friendly. The price: quite high, considering the area (in a plaza right on El Camino) and the place, which has really nothing fancy. As for many other "Italian" restaurants, you pay for "authentic italian" food. However, there were only 4 authentic Italian things in that place: the beer, the pizza names on the menu, the hat of the pizzaiolo (Napoli Soccer Club) and myself. The verdict: in my opinion there are other places not far away which offer a cozier environment and a slightly superior pizza for the same price. Im not sure Ill go back. I havent find yet the best pizza overall in the Peninsula, but my quest continues

The amazing smell that greets you when you walk in the door is only a preview of the delicious pizza. Went with a friend of mine that is from Naples, Italy. For him, Neapolitan style pizza is an art form and this place serves up the Michelangelo of pizzas! We arrived for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, early. As such, we were able to score the best seats in the house! Seated at the bar, right in front of the authentic brick pizza oven. This thing was shipped over brick by brick from Naples. They maintain a wood fire in there with a steady temp of 600 degrees. Super fun to watch them hand toss the dough and the pizza cook in literal minutes. Many of the toppings are added AFTER the pizza comes out. Fresh arugula, prosciutto and a drizzle of olive oil. YUM!!! WARNING..the pizza cooks in less than 5 minutes in the wood fired oven. If you call in an order, it will likely be cold when you get it home. That will be on you! They dont use warmers because that ruins the delicious crust. Do yourself and your mouth a favor, EAT THERE! Get a spot at the bar and watch them make the pizza. Its a magical experience! #ReviewLocal

The humble facade of this restaurant hides a cozy oasis of Italian authenticity. Soft jazz and candlelight set the mood for an unpretentious and comfortable meal. Weve enjoyed three margarita pizzas here and every one has been incredible. True to Italy, the flavors do not immediately assail the senses; they creep up and win your admiration. The sauce on this pizza is so good! Sweet and salty in one bite. The salad was beautifully prepared and the pasta bolognese was also authentic (based on our memories of eating throughout Italy). The service was extremely cordial and professional: big smiles and prompt service. Even the pizza chef returned my nod of appreciation. This is a solid restaurant and a good choice for a low-key night.

This is what an Italian place is supposed to be: tiny, can see the cooks character, moderately priced, semi-tacky decor and food that goes great with conversation and wine. Food was pretty good. The pizza sauce was a little flat on the margarita, but you can get garlic and other toppings. Get more toppings if you cant appreciate a good bread. 80% of a pizza should be rated by the dough/crust anyway and this had a flaky outer crust with a flavorful, cooked dough. Exactly like I imagine a Napoletana pizza to be. The cinnamon-y cannaloni and espresso macchiato (actually mixed with a little milk like a real Italian macchiato) were a perfect cap to the meal.

The place was pleasant, service nice but the pizza and calezone was terrible. Calezone described as: Fresh mozzarella, ricotta, salami (inside) tomato sauce, basil, and extra virgin olive oil (outside).....NOT A CHANCE...it was a piece of pizza dough folded in half with only cheese (tasteless), some sauce put on top with (2) leaves of basil!! The pizza...so undercooked you could not pick it up even with a fork without losing the (again) tasteless sausage with at least 10 pieces of mushrooms (not fresh either) falling all over the place. Again, some cheese and (2) pieces of leaf basil. A total waste of $36....never will go back!!!

Stern.

Surely the best pizzeria in Mountain View for an Italian, although that doesnt mean that this place is something to write home about. The Neapolitan-style dough comes from Caputo flour, and is reasonably good. What I found not extraordinary was the quality of the other ingredients, particularly the mozzarella, the sausages and the tomato sauce. Still, from an Italian point of view, the rest of the Mountain View offer in terms of pizza is so appalling that this place wins hands down, and Ill be back.

The place is very small. It could easily be charming but it was severely let down by uncaring service - we were very disappointed since the place had been recommended and we queued for it. The food was average overall - one nice pizza and another rather bland one sadly, neither of which struck me as hugely authentic. The wines were nice, probably the best part, and they do have a wood fired oven. I would recommend Doppio Zero on Castro st nearby (by car) for a better meal on my view.

Quiet little place, but great wood-fired pizzas which they can make very quickly (in just a few minutes) in front of you. Went there early Janurary 2014 when I had a hangover (not common for me) and the waitress recommended the "salciccia". Not the cheapest pizza ever but quite delicious and filled me up. :) Interestingly, is a little tricky to find on Google maps - you have to type "pizzeria" and not "pizza". Doh!

This is the best, most authentic Neopolitan-style pizza on the Peninsula, rivaling any of SFs best offerings. While the pizza is the star of the show, the appetizer menu has a surprisingly good calamari. Come here for an authentic, certified VPN experience. My wife and I come here often when we want to relive our Italian honeymoon. Napoletana Pizzeria is an under-appreciated, misunderstood gem!

Ive been here numerous times across a couple years. they never disappoint. the owner is always there and is dedicated to perfecting his craft. the staff is quite good. large portions of salad and the carbonara, in addition to the amazing pizza for which they are rightly known, is a welcome surprise. wine selection pairs very well with all the dishes. a hidden gem that non-locals will easily miss.

Best pizza around MTV. The portion is large so I usually order one pizza and one pasta, and share with 3. The portion of the salads is really large too. You cant book in advance and there is usually a wait around 30 min so I usually kill time at the supermarket next to it. The pizza is tasty even on the next day after you microwave so doggy bag is a good option if you cannot finish your dishes.
