An obnoxious place! I would never go back EVER again! I dont usually write bad reviews for a place but this time I really feel like I have to say something. On Veterans Day, I originally planned to study in the Mountain View Public Library which is a block away from this cafe. Unfortunately the library was closed. In search of a place to study, I walked to the lobby of the Performing Art Center which is attached to this cafe and was delighted to find out several small tables and chairs there. As soon as I sat down, this obnoxious guy from the Cafe came up and told me I was not allowed to study there. So I had no choice but to leave the lobby and walked into the cafe. It was small and noisy, decor was mediocre, not an ideal place to study and read. But I decided to give it a try. I picked a table and sat down. As soon as I opened my laptop, the same obnoxious guy immediately came up and told me in a very rude way that "this cafe is for customers only". I felt deeply OFFENDED by it! 2/3 of the cafe was empty, and he couldnt allow someone to sit here for a while before buying a coffee? It wasnt like I was going to sit there the whole day without buying anything; I would definitely buy something, and I just wanted to sit down for a bit and reply to some emails first before I do that. In retrospect, that obnoxious and ugly-looking guy had the full intention of kicking me out of the lobby and forcing me into their cafe. Whats wrong with a young woman sitting quietly in the lobby and studying/reading by herself? People working at this cafe do not care about customers at all and are rude to customers. All they care about is how to make money from you, and theyre very short-sighted: they have already lost a customer forever!

Small, simple, friendly, tasty. And next to the MV arts plaza fountain, a nice place to people watch. Their appropriately gritty milkshake with ground espresso beans is decadently delicious (and very energizing!) and their fresh watermelon drink is especially perfect for warm summer days! I recently tried their chicken cordon bleu and it was delightfully tasty -- the chicken was baked, not fried or breaded, and the sandwich was very flavorful without being greasy. It also came with a tasty side of salad with vinaigrette dressing. Downside? It was a bit pricey ($7.50) for the amount of food :(. $7.50 for lunch can almost get you a full all-you-can-eat buffet down the street, and I was still pretty hungry after this sandwich and salad. Next time, I think Ill stick to Bean Scene for light snacks, not a meal.

Be careful I bought an ice tea and it was very old and another time I bought a muffin and when I got back to my office half of it was covered in mold, this was a few years ago but I could never bring myself to go back because Im concerned about their food handling practices

sort of off the beaten path, while still close proximity to Castro St., its small and quiet, with a decent selection of things to eat. Not as big, or as much of a selection as the (unrelated?) Bean Scene Cafe in downtown Sunnyvale.

When I worked in this area I came all the time because the coffee is bad, so few people go there. the paninis are meh too. But that means theres usually a chair either outside in the nice plaza or inside.

Bean Scene Cafe was just OK. They dont have an overly good representation of what they serve and the bagel sand which I got was sub par. Also just OK on the atmosphere and feel. How I feel about it, meh.

Some times a little bit burned coffee (latte...) but mostly OK. If ther is a lot of people avoid it since they are usually quite short of staff... good access to free Google wifi...

The time I went, the barista was not giving proper service and made me wait to give order for like 15 min. I wasnt too happy about that.

We go there every Saturday morning so that kids can play. Owners are very nice, and food is good (crepes with Nutella, or ham)

If youre looking for a quiet spot to read or work, its very convenient. Its kind of hidden, but worth checking it out.

Ok for coffee but not much else. I ordered a veggie panini and it was super soggy.
