Thai food??? In Morgan Hill??? Those were our first thoughts when my wife (then girlfriend) and I came across Siam Thai in an online restaurant search back in 2007. Little did we know that this seemingly out-of-place restaurant in Downtown Morgan Hill would turn out to be THE most amazing Thai food weve ever tasted! Since our first visit, we’ve taken numerous family and friends to this restaurant. We even had our engagement dinner here back in December of 2008. Even though we moved to Mountain View after we got married, we still make the drive down to Morgan Hill if we want Thai. I’ll admit, we’ve tried to find other Thai restaurants that are closer to home, but none of them even come close to this one. Siam Thai is phenomenal! Most Thai restaurants use a generic batter-fried meat and pour different synthetic sauces over each dish to define the different “flavors”, NOT Siam Thai. At Siam Thai, each and every dish has a unique, one-of-a-kind flavor and is prepared from fresh ingredients. We’ve tried most of the chicken, pork, and beef items on the menu and have yet to find something we don’t like. Our personal favorites are the basil beef (mild), crazy beef (medium), and cashew chicken (medium) with a side of sticky rice and a glass of Thai iced tea. Try this place. You will not regret it!

This use to be my favorite restaurant in town but i have huge issues with the new management. I would always go here for lunch because your meal came with a nice simple vegetable soup and some salad, but they have recently discontinued this to my disappointment. When trying to find out why they no longer offered this lunch deal, the servers were very uninformed and were not only confused, but also a bit rude. Although this is annoying it isnt that big of a deal. The reason this is a 1 star review is because of the meal I received today. I ordered takeout, my usual of seafood pad tai. Being pescetarian I do not eat meat, but i do occasionally eat fish and eggs. Because of this I was extremely bothered when I came home to eat my meal and realized that my meal had bits of chicken in it. The meal was correctly filled having seafood, but it was obviously not made with care and was contaminated by chicken from other meals they had made. This to me is unacceptable and I am sad to know that my once favorite restaurant is no longer a place fit to eat at.

I am a pretty easy-going person, but tonights experience was really bad. The waitress showed up once to take my order. I received a dish I did not order, but did not notice it until later. Just chucked it off to bad cooking (sometimes its hard to determine whether you eat chicken or fish). Waving her or another staff member down did not work. Problem resolution, forget it. One of THE worst dining experiences in a long time. The place was not busy when I arrived, but started filling up quickly. Seems to be a local fav. I hope you have more luck eating there than I did. As for me, this was the third strike.

We discovered this restaurant a little over two years ago and have been regulars there. The staff and owners have always been very courteous. We simply love it. We love their pineapple fried rice the most. Other dishes are also delicious, all prepared with fresh ingredients. The chicken and sea-food is cooked just right - so succulent it almost melts in your mouth. We dont eat red meat, so cannot comment on that. When my wife was pregnant, we ordered out from this restaurant almost every weekend. The decor is nice with Thai art all around. The back room and the back entrance could use an upgrade though.

While its kind of awkward walking into the main seating area and not really knowing what to do. The food and service is anything but awkward. The seating is cozy and convenient in that you get to look at everyone elses food and see what youll want to get next time. Everything we had here was fabulous! But my favorite thing was that I asked one of the servers what a dish that had just been served to one of our "neighbors", and he not only chatted with me about it the dish, but later brought out a sample of it with some delicious fried bread to try it..and we had already ordered. Just great all around!

Huge disappointment. Have been going here for years in groups/parties of 2 or 3. Service and food have always been outstanding even when busy. Went with a party of 5 and the place only had 4 customers when we arrived and our service was terrible. Watched 4 customers come in after us, get their food before us, half our food came out then 10 minutes later the rest came out. Then the check came and it became very obvious, 18% gratuity added. Guess you can provide bad service when you know your getting 18%. This was the last time I will visit and will never refer anyone else there. Sad day indeed.

My absolutely favorite place to get Thai food! Siam Thai is a small almost hole-in-the-wall place. Its a house converted into a restaurant so the place has a lot of personality. Its a family run restaurant so its fitting that its in a house. Not to mention the food! They make the BEST yellow curry! The pad thai and Chicken Satay are also amazing. The prices are also very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I almost always come home with leftovers...almost a second meal! I highly recommend this place and I dont think Ill find a Thai place to compare.

Im very picky about my food and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Thai cuisine served at Siam Thai. The quality of the food was outstanding and the staff paid attention and gave me the degree of spiciness that was requested - in my experience most places dont believe it when very spicy is asked for. The restaurant was clean, the ambience great, the service was quite good. For the cost I have to say that you get your moneys worth here so overall Siam Thai gets five stars from me. If Im ever in town again Ill be sure to go there.

As long as theres only one Thai restaurant in beautiful Morgan Hill, Im very happy that its a good one. Its a funky converted house right on Monterey. My wife and I have eaten in the living room, dining room and back bedroom. :-) Im fond of the Angry Chicken, which I try to order as "Angry Bird". The service is friendly and prompt. The prices are acceptable and the place is sometimes packed with diners, people waiting for tables and people waiting for togo orders.

We have always enjoyed this wonderful little restaurant, but tonight we sat outside on the newly decorated front patio and it was the best experience! Wonderful food (long song chicken and crazy beef), great weather, and the new owner paid us a little visit and was very kind and welcoming. If youre in the mood for great Thai food and relaxing environment, look no further! Visit House of Siam!

Hands down the best Thai food I have tasted in all of bay area!! Its like home made Thai food, (not that I would know, in a sense its NOT like food that looks great but taste awful) you wont be disappointed! Plus as a small bonus if you are a frequent diner and you have bought 12 entrees you get the 13th free. (they give you a "frequent diners card" where you keep track of your entrees)
