Food was delicious, however the customer service was horrible (a waitress names ANGELA) . I work in a nearby hospital and placed an order for pickup probably 45 mins - 1 hour in advance. When i called i asked if i could order a specific sandwich without the ham (as i dont eat pork) and they said of course. When i arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order (and 5 other peoples orders) they said ohhh i was going to call but we are so busy!!!!! and we cant actually make that sandwich that way because they are already made and then she walked away and took a customers order and then finally walked back and said did you need to switch that out for something else because its already made? i was shocked at the way she spoke. I ordered a different sandwich and waited an additional 15-20 minutes for the order to be completed. I told the lady i was unhappy with my service and that i should have been contacted well before arriving. her reply??.... oh sorry we get real busy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! this is not the correct answer to keep a customer happy. Her speech, attitude and demeanor was so rude. I think management needs to look at how their employees are handling customer complaints and have a better solution than your busy!! I love the food here but i will definitely be taking a break from the place due to crappy service and so will the office i work with!

I dont know why this place is still so popular. Theres always a long wait and the overall staff and waiters are so rude! Theres just one employee that is really outstanding. I dont know his name, but he seems to be the manager and his staff could learn a thing or two from him. He seems to be the only person hustling to seat people, expediting the food, serving, and taking complaints from customers (and there are plenty). He is actually engaged with the customers whereas the staff are just idiots wandering around refilling coffees that dont even need refilling. All theyre doing is messing up my perfectly creamed and sugared cup of joe. When they return it, its always black again and they never bother giving extra cream. Thats the other thing. Food here is not great. Portions are small for the price and options are limited. Just give me my breakfast with all the fixins! Not, potatoes or this, or fruit or that. Just give me a great breakfast dammit! Im sure the atmosphere used to be cool and eclectic, but now in 2017, this place is dated and in need of a remodel. Im scared to see this place in full light - Im sure its disgusting with its greasy floors and walls. I dare say Dennys is a better choice for breakfast! Go elsewhere people, they dont respect your business here.

Im a little sad that I dont work close to Black Cow Cafe anymore because I dont get to go nearly as often as I used to. I really like their brunch selections but everything else is good as well. On a weekend, the wait time for lunch can be pretty bad. I would recommend arrviing early. They also have Farmers Market on Sundays on Honolulu so you may not want to try to find parking there. There are tons of parking on side streets. Again, everything is delicious but my favorite dish here is the biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits has a kick to it and its so flavorful. I think they put Jalapeno and cheese and bake it right into the biscuits. They also have really delicious omelettes and salads. I heard they also do dinner and its good but I havent had the chance to try it. I may have to come back to give it a shot.

We came in from the back and went to the front to get seated. The host was on the phone for a long time without even signalling anything to us. After he got off the phone he started chatting with his college about nonsense briefly waiving at us to wait. When I finally demanded his attention he told us rather unfriendly we had to wait. Upon request he said it would be a 40 minutes wait. This was the most unfriendly welcome I ever got in a restaurant in the US. We decided not to wait and ordered for takeout instead! The lady that got our order at the counter was super nice and we got food quickly. The food itself was super tasty - eggs are great, cappuccino and breakfast quesadilla are remarkable. Thats why it should be 5 stars if it wasnt for the terrible welcome...

Overpriced. Small portions. Flavorless food. So so service. This place is horrible as far as the food is concerned. The sandwiches have no flavor and came with a Frizen warm fries. The pasta sauce is canned masked with heavy garlic. We Ordered cappuccino and it came in a to go cup, the waitress said they ran out if mugs. The atmosphere is not bad, the service mediocre at best. Extremely overpriced for what they offer. Actually even if the sandwiches were half the price I still say they are overpriced, due to the low quality of food. Food quality D-, the only thing that was decent was the soup. Value F Portions F Service C- Atmosphere B- Will NEVER eat at BC again, and the never are all in caps.

First of all, the food is amazing. If youre not in a rush, and dont mind crowds or loud environments, then this is 100% a good choice for breakfast / lunch with friends. My party and I got a combination of breakfast and lunch items during our visit, and everything was A+ food. The coffee selections are top notch as well. As for the environment, everything I listed above is a symptom of a dining area thats too small to accommodate this places apparent popularity. Dont go here if youre starving and need to eat *now*, and dont go here if you dont like crowds.

This would have been four stars, but we watched a couple walk up and ask for a table and get seated immediately, completely surpassing the list we were patiently waiting on. That was a bummer. The strawberry mimosa was very good (and only $6.95!), and huge. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and they were just okay. The presentation was sorry of thrown together, and the huevos itself was a little bland. My boyfriend got the corned beef skillet, and that excellent! Great flavor and looked amazing.

We have been having lunch at the Black Cow for years. It is wonderful. Victor is the best server ever!!! He remembers what we like including all of the exceptions/substitutions we ask for. Juan is also fabulous. Both remember and call us by name, know what we want to drink. We especially love the Butternut Squash Soup served only on Thursdays. Warning: It will ruin you for any other Butternut Squash Soup!!!

Good food, EVERYONE loved their food. Even my little nephew, who is a picky eater. The bread is Amazing. The lemonade and iced tea are super. The service was exceptional, and all it all a great time. Only improvement I would make, is make the out door seating area a little better, but they are crammed for space outdoors. Other then that you guys should definitely try this place. It is so unique.

A new place for me is no stranger to others as one could easily see by the full restuarant and short line at 1 pm on a weekday. We were greated warmly by the entire staff. They appear to like what they do and who they work for. I had the Salmon Spinach salad which was superb. Our waitress was attentive throughout. This a favorite of the film crowd that live in the Pasadena area.
