This place serves some of the best homemade soup for you can get outside your own cooking. The hot water corn bread is delicious and served with every order. My personal favorites are the smothered pork chops and oxtails... Sides choice mac n cheese, greens, red beans and rice, and yams. If you have NEVER tried it, you really should. But dont be surprised when you learn that it is owned and operated by a culture other than Black. Its the hands that makes the for great, not who they are. So if you think it wont be good because they are Hispanic, you better think again. I, personally, have never seen a Hispanic person there ordering. ALWAYS NOTHING BUT BLACK FOLK AND ITS ALWAYS QUITE A FEW OF THEN THERE WHEN I ARRIVE. SOME SIT RIGHT OUTSIDE AND EAT BECAUSE THE FOR IS JUST THAT GOOD. CANT WAIT TO GET HOME. ME, I EAT IN MY DRIVE BACK TO THE OC. THATS HOW GOOD IT IS.

I have been passing by this joint for years and always thought to myself Really?? Mexican AND soul food. Until we were on a food mission talking about Soul food and I brought this place up, so off we went. Church folks in line on a Sunday cant be that bad then, plus line was pretty consistent the whole time we were there. Now I was going back and forth with three or four stars so I decided to dissect my experience, because if mood hits I just might come back. Customer Service-4 Smothered chicken-4-very flavorful meat fell off the bone Rice n gravy-4-gravy was tasty Yams-3-taste was ok do not like the big chunks prefer cut up Mac n cheese-2-taste nothing like authentic homemade Cornbread cakes-5-very good flavor like hot water cornbread Exterior-cannot judge a book by its cover so check it out if you want!!

Best soul food yet!!! Ox tails are off the hook! Tonight we had the Hungry Womans Meal. You get 2 meats (I had meat loaf and 2 PCs fried chicken) plus 3 sides (I had man & cheese, green beans, and corn bread dressing) you also get 2 corn bread muffins and a drink. Love It!!!
