The people seem nice... too nice! The place is absolutely discusting. The counter where you pay is filthy and the restaurant just seems dingy. A dingy thrift store? Okay, you can wash the clothes. But I dont think they are washing the "food" before adding it to the kung pao. Everything was gross and way over priced. If you going to be using bottom of the barrel entres and not bother to pay for the cleaning products to maintain your restaurant, then you would think you would see the savings in your dinner bill. Stay away or suffer the bathroom aftermath.

Rudest service experience Ive had in LA. The owner is a horror. And, no, Im not a competitor, just a peeved customer. I asked for chopsticks with my order and was refused. I was told Id "only" ordered the lunch special. I hadnt spent enough money to merit a two-cent pair of chopsticks. I thought the owner was joking. She wasnt. The food is beyond bland. The location is central -- but its not worth this ridiculously rude service. I will not be back. Save yourself the trip.

These portion sizes are enormous. The shrimp fried rice and sauteed veggies were absolutely amazing. Both staff who served us were extremely friendly. Id definately recommend this place to anyone. Im visiting from Australia and having experienced some pretty bad service/food around I left Hunan feeling very happy with all ascepts of my dining experience.

We eat there 2-3 times a week (along with most of Hollywood) and its stellar. If youre rude, impatient, or just ultra-western, maybe this 70 year old couple arent the restaurateurs for you. They dont really suffer fools, nor should they. Excellent food. Amazing people. We love Hunan Cafe!

I absolutely love the food at Hunan, and can highly recommend the Beef and Broccoli and General Tsaou. Once the owner gets to know you trust me you will get the best service. Dont let other review put you off this place!

Great little place, massive portions. We had two rice between six which was more than enough. Food was amazing, get the spicy orange beef..lush.
