Immediate impression upon walking in is positive. Mini lights will do that to you. I gave the food a star for taste but thats all the overall experience warrants. The cocktails were lackluster despite the bartenders annoyingly banging the cocktail shakers and animatedly shaking them to death. The live music is a buzzkill to anyone in the entire place who is trying to have a conversation. The worst for me (and what caused me to ultimately write this review and likely not return) was the random server - not even responsible for our table - walking over in the middle of our conversation and clapping her hands between our faces telling us to be quiet and aggressively pointing across the room...WAYYYYYY across the room to where some guy had walked in off the street and was proposing to a girl wearing a bathrobe under a mini lit tree. First of all, what would ever give this server the idea she had the right to interrupt and disrespect any paying guest like that? Second of all, why should we care? We didnt. Third, Im paying to have a decent meal not to placate people who walk in off the street for head pats. The best part: the newly engaged couple wasnt even eating in the restaurant. They werent even paying guests. They literally made a scene and left. The entire experience was utterly ridiculous.

I have loved going to Roe before its closed for a while, but now it has come back. All the best wishes to the owner and operator that the expansion into a full blown restaurant works out soon. Food wise, I have enjoyed their fisherman stew, its a warming dish filled with bright seafood flavors without any overpowering fishiness. I have also tried the fish platter and sandwich. Oddly, I enjoyed the sandwich more than the platter, as I like how the ciabatta bread is nice toasted, and the slight crunch compliments the fish filet. If there is one critic to note, it is the portion of the fish. Especially on a platter order, the size of the salmon almost look a little sad.

Food is good, the ambiance is nice. However the price tag is exaggerated and most importantly: the accoustics are deafening. There were three of is, and it was impossible to hold a conversation. We were screaming the entire time. We opened a decibel calculator app, and hit 102 db (basically: stay less than 2 hrs or your ears will start bleeding) this was before the band came out. At that point it was simply impossible to talk. At least they were good. All in all, I would rather get the fish at Roe Market next door for half the price and take it home, or go to Panxa on Broadway (same ownership). Perhaps if they work on the accoustics Ill give it another shot.

Everything about Roe is amazing. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and they care. We are so thrilled Roe is back. It was a true Christmas gift because we have been coming to themail since they first opened up and will only continue. We live in Colorado but frequent our home town California often for business and it says a lot to have a favorite. Roe is our favorite and thanks guys for such a great treat! I just revisited this location again and wanted to let everyone know that is my favorite restaurant in So Ca. Ambiance is so fun, food is delish and the service has been so friendly and welcoming.

Absurdly Peculiar
Although the dishes were pricey, they were very delicious and the food tastes fresh! We shared these dishes among 3 people and checked in on Yelp to get free ceviche and chips. The scallops were nice and sweet; the sea bass was nicely seasoned and the peas were sweet; and the seafood chowder was delicious and they didnt skimp on the seafood. I think the chowder would be enough to fill up one person. Next time Id like to come during happy hour! This place has a nice ambience and is decorated nicely. Good place for a date or get together with friends! It is spacious place and cant wait to come back and try more.

Was curious about this place. Came on a Sunday afternoon. Lively with people enjoying brunch but seating available. I sat in the back which was nice as it is slightly raised and gave me a good view of the entire space. Floor plan is open. Has a patio and does a great job if blending indoor and outdoor space. Some places you feel like you are missing out if you choose one over the other. Good fresh seafood, good cocktails, and Roger on the guitar and singing was perfect addition. I will be back.

Looking for something new. Veterans day, and celebrating Bucks retirement.Great ambiance, clean, wait staff efficient, and seem to really care. Jacob, our server, great, manager Brittany, manager, great interaction. The food, excellent, must try the seafood, ceviche, uni, shrimp, and the tomato base sauce with a kick, also the bacon wrapped ono, killer. Overall menu, great variety, something for everyone. Just found a new best restaurant. Keep it up guys!

I will make this short. Delicious food, great service, cool ambience and an overall very enjoyable experience. 3 things to try: kabayaki seasonal fish, bacon wrapped ono, and their sirichatini. Theres plenty of other good things there but those were my favorites and some of their most popular items. Special thanks to Greg and Chase for helping make our night extra special. I strongly suggest this place if you love seafood. :)

Service was terrible. Waited 20 min just to get our drinks. Never came back after the food arrived. Had to ask for salt, pepper and a plate for the crab shells. After taking our plates never returned with the bill. Had to take down another waitress to get our bill. She said she was training a new employee. She should not even be employed let a lone train someone. Food was also over priced for what you get.

The environment is nice. The service is friendly but not trained in the necessary steps for the price point of the menu. Felt like I had to organize my own dining experience. Including getting my own silverware to eat. No one noticed. Chef influenced menu that has possibly but lacks starters and finishers. Price-value perception will be a sustainable problem going forward. Seek some business counseling!

Went on a Saturday night and they had a good band playing. We had a reservation and got seated right away. The yellow tail tostodas were really good. The yellowfin sashimi was excellant. We tried the crunchy role and it was average. The service here is friendly and attentive. Margaritis were also very good.

The quality, freshness and flavor of the fish and the chips is to die for. You cant even call it fsh and chips. Is heaven and heavenlier. The Ceviche tacos are worth traveling long distances for. The calamari fries are fresh and delicious. Nothing from frozen in this house. Foodies delight.

One of my favorite local places. Great, fresh seafood. Excellent fish and chips. Seafood burritos are addicting. Cevichos are so good. Seafood banh mi.. mmmm. The overall hit to miss ratio of their food has gone way up since their food truck days. I love that this place exists.

Love Roe Xpress but super disappointed with the restaurant. Confusing menu - dont know if you are ordering an entre or an app. 8 bucks for bread and butter is rediculous. Small portions . Chef is talented but someone needs to step in and make changes quickly.
