See 2nd review below the first. The first review, from last week, was quite poor. See below for a new review from today... 1st review: 01/19/2014 * _ _ _ _ _Didnt even get to a menu. Time was 6:45, Sun 01/19/2014: I was in the lobby, signed in their little pad to be seated. No one else was in the lobby waiting, no ones name was on the list ahead of me that hasnt been seated. I sat there for 5 minutes, completely unacknowledged, then I moved to a different bench in the lobby where I would be more visable. Ive seen people paying their bills and leaving, employees came in and out past me, not a single person acknowledged my existance. If this is how poor the service was before being seated I can only guess how bad it would have been if I placed an order. I left after about 10 minutes of total time. If I wanted to be invisible I would not have made such an effort to go to a restaurant and sign in to be seated for a meal. 2nd review: 02/02/2014 * * * * _ So much better than last week. I went in today to give my neighborhood diner a 2nd chance. And I am glad I did. Perhaps because today is the Super Bowl there werent very busy and they had available tables & booths. I was greeted at the inner lobby and was immediately seated. The hostess and the servers were quite attentive to in assuring my satisfaction (ie Time to check out the menu, taking my order promptly, etc) and the food was very good. I cant guess as to why last weeks service was so much different but I am hoping the service I received today is more to their norm and that last weeks service had other circumstances. Regardless, I am much more happy with the service today. I am glad to be able to add them to my options for my neighborhood restaurants.

I used to eat there a couple times a month. Had not been there in a while and me and a friend decided to stop by this morning for breakfast. My food so ok at best but my friend could not even finish his it was so bad. Let the waiter know and got no reply...not even an "Im Sorry". Also there was a customer waiting for a carry-out order and while he waited...his dog walked all over the store...at one point started walking into food prep area before my friend finally said something. Even after that...management did nothing. Needless to say we...along with most of the customers were not pleased. Dont think I will be going back anytime soon....R

I recently went their for lunch and seen a customer being assaulted by a man coming from the back of the cafe,he rush him from behind and grab him by the throat ,while threatening him.As the people pulled him off the young guy.The manager(red hair) women said I dont understand he never acts this way??(so if this guy is a regular?)and she doesnt think its a big deal"her words to the police.I think that my wife and I dont need to come back to a place that allows this activity for there customers.I will never go back because the manger didnt ask that guy to leave,unsafe I feel.. what else is acceptable there??

We love Park Pantry! Ive been going here since I moved to Long Beach in 1982 to marry my husband, and Park Pantry has been our go-to breakfast and lunch place ever since. The food is always good and reliable, and the service is so friendly. The Pantry has a lot of regular customers, and they treat us all like family. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Im vegetarian, so I like the wide range of choices, and my husband loves their fish and hamburgers.

Food is always great, from the salads, and sandwiches to full dinners. My wife loves the pull-a- part french toast! The service is generally outstanding (once in a while we all have bad days). One can sit in the enclosed, covered patio and read or write while, still being offered great service OR sit inside with traditional restaurant seating. I will be enjoying Park Pantry for years to come.

My daughter didnt like the chicken noodle. It was atiny cup. The manager touched me on the shoukder and said she wouldnt Exchange it because thed have to throw it away. (Asked me what was wrong with the soup) Well I dont want to put you out :/. It is pride weekend after all I know how busy you are. I didnt see the big deal of giving us a new cupid soup.

The service is so good and the food so wholesome that I think of this like Home Cooking! No matter what I get, I always add the side salad because it is so perfect. Their breakfasts are on point, and their dinner specials will make you wonder what holiday it is because they are so special! Can get crowded on Weekend mornings but worth the wait.

When my mom comes to visit she always insists on going here for breakfast. Its not just because I live close by though. Their pancakes and their orange muffins are so perfect and the customer service is great. Its also got a really good fish sandwich for dinner. Plus if you are lucky you can get a seat outside overlooking Bixby Park

Cozy and casual, you can tell this is a local favorite the minute you walk in. And its obvious why, food is amazing, price quite fair, the waitress Cindy was very attentive, friendly and knew her regulars. What else can I say, I highly recommend stopping in and seeing why this place is a local fixture!

This is the "go to" spot whenever I dont know what I want to eat for breakfast. They have a friendly staff and comfortable seating but parking can be chancy depending on the time of day and day of the week since it is all on the street parking. It is worth it if you want a good meal at a fair price.

Service is like something out of the twilight zone. The severs are friendly and helpful but the way the the kitchen tuns is a little strange. That being said the food is really good. I recommend the fried chicken and mozzerela sticks. Chicken fried steak was good too. Definately worth going here.

Waitress was very polite and nice. As she exchanged our dinner. The fish and chips are not recommended as it seems like it was frozen fish fillets. The burger was not much better. The nachos were decent. It seems people like breakfast here but as for dinners they dont seem good quality.

Omg hands down soooo good!!!! Came here one day to get a good meal and it was amazing!! Nothing I have ever had at any other restaurant, burgers are amazing!!! The workers are soooo nice youll never get bad attitude here! There food is just amazing! Definitely coming back!

Stroller parking or even just getting it in was difficult Wait staff was a little rude on my first trip and not very helpful as I was alone with 3 small kids for lunch and no one offered a hand with the stroller food is good for the price but could have been better

Love Park Pantry! Favorites are the food selection and the wait staff. I do NOT like the female managers however. They speak very rudely to the staff and make a ton of mistakes themselves. Best to go there in the evening when its just the servers and PM manager.
