Tucked away amongst modern highrise buildings, this little gem of a restaurant is a blast from the past with their greasy spoon comfort foods and atmosphere... Our waitress Ellen is relatively new but her smile and confidence showed through her newness as she listed off the daily specials and told us a bit of history of the restaurant... The steak, eggs, and burger were cooked perfectly medium... Their biscuits and gravy is thick and hearty... The wait staff is surprisingly efficient and they demonstrate teamwork very well... This place is clean and bright and well maintained... The pricing is very reasonable despite being in the greater downtown area... Will most definitely return...

Best place to go to for comfort food. My family has been coming here for almost 20 years and it is all our favorite place to eat. The people there are super nice and always remember their old customers They always give large portions which my family and I loooove (We eat ALOT). Theres many options on the menu, and even though I have been coming here ever since I was a baby, I still have a hard time choosing because everything is so good. The beach is also really close so its nice to have a great meal and go walk along the beach right after. Great service and awesome food!! You wont be disappointed. (-:

Looks like an old outdated cafe. We waited & waited for someone to take our order. When we got our food my daughters order was wrong told the waitress, did correct it but she didnt seem too happy. The food was warm not hot. My husband ordered a french dip which the slices of meat were a little too think and he said the meat tasted like they had been put in the microwave. I ordered a BLT w/ avocado...the sandwich was okay. when we visit Long Beach again wont be returning to eat at Long Beach Cafe thats for sure!!!

Such a great place to go for breakfast. The service is always great. The food is always amazing. The coffee arrives within seconds of sitting down and is never allowed to cool (they come around with fresh coffee quite frequently, its awesome) There is rarely ever a wait but always crowded. The best breakfast youll have anywhere within 100 miles easy. Large free parking area. Clean well kept facility. Breakfasts are amazing and the rest of the menu is good too. Im all about the Corn Beef Hash.

This place is great if you want a big plate of food and its perfect as an iconic diner. I dont recommend eating dinner, the food is a little fresher in the morning. I took some friends in for dinner and the food tasted like dry frozen meat and boxed mash potatoes with canned gravy. Its like a Dennys in that sense. Breakfast on the other hand is huge and uses fresh eggs and fresh vegetables. I prefer Pot holders cafe 2 for breakfast if you want unique flavors and big breakfast.

This place has amazing portions, good service and damn good food. This cafe is the model that Dennys has tried to emulate but always falls short. The prices are extremely reasonable and they have quite a variety i.e. Greek food, Mexican, American, etc. I absolutely recommend this place at any time for any craving. The ONE thing I do not recommend are the Multi-grain pancakes, but if you order something you dont much like, the servers are happy to accommade.

I am from Kentucky and I rarely find a restaurant that had that southern hospitality I have back home. Long Beach Cafe, or LBC, is the best cafe for travelers. They certainly make you feel at home. Kathy, the manager, is such a sweetie, and made the whole table feel welcome! The food is absolutely spectacular. Their portions are beyond enormous, and the service is speedy fast! Defs coming back!!

Big Food, good service-unusual menu items-the COBB burger and omlette are both too big for one person-good specials-very fair prices-friendly staff-another local place that remember customers and treats you like family (maybe better)-good sized parking lot-another go to place for American food at fair prices-they also offer some delicious GREEK specialties and Mexican dishes

I love this place, its got everything you may want from a diner and a little more. I just wish their coffee wasnt as watered down but other than that this is my go-to spot and a short walk from home. The service is excellent, way better than some fine dining restaurant Ive been to. TRY THEIR NACHOS!!! (You wont be disappointed, theyre the best nachos Ive ever had)

I stayed nearby on a recent sojourn to Long Beach, and stumbled across the diner on my first morning of walking. The food was good and filling, and they do give you HUGE portions... (hard to push away when you are really enjoying what you are eating) Simple food, large selection. Overall, was good enough that I went back several times to enjoy.

I moved to Long Beach 2 year ago this August. Breakfast is my favorite meal out and after trying several different breakfast only places I came across this place and lived it! Everyone is very nice, service is good and as everyone else has stated, the portions are big. I rarely go home without a container for lunch or breakfast the next day.

This is the worst restaurant in Long Beach. The food is mediocre at best and the staff is hit or miss. Our waitress never came to take our order after us having been seated for over 25 minutes when the hostess finally came around and took care of us. The bussers and the hostesses seem to be working twice as hard as the servers in this joint.

Dinner one night, then breakfast in the morning. Good, fast, friendly, reasonably priced (actually cheap) food in a cozy diner. Mostly comfortable booths, some counter seating. Staff is super attentive and professional. Menu is huge, something for everyone. And lots of free parking in a congested downtown area. Dont miss it!

This place serves you a lot of food with big plates of it too and everything is: "Oh, so good!" I have been going here since it was called the: Copper Penny for those of you who remember that... Nick & his staff will make things right the first time and you will not be disappointed.

Overpriced, lack of seasoning, my potatoes ( house fries ) were super hard at least some of them, from a day before maybe, and the cup of my coffee had a funky smell, and as we were leaving on a couple of tables potatoes looked awesome, like I said maybe I got really bad luck

The food here is excellent and very abundant! Our food came quickly after the extremely pleasant staff took our orders. The menu is huge so be prepared to take a couple of minutes to decide on what you want, but once you do, you definitely wont be disappointed.

I got a turkey burger with turkey bacon, feta cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My side was fruit. The portion was average. The fruit was a small cup. The burger was good (not amazing though), just not really filling. I will probably not be returning.
