I just had dinner there this evening and I would have to say it was one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had. The service was good -but the food was way over priced and did not deliver as stated on the menu. First and foremost, the first 3 bottles of wine I requested on the menu was currently not available. I finally settled on the Steven Kent Cab, which was exceptionally good but that was my fourth choice. Second, we found hair in the fried calamari, which was sent back for a new batch. Third, on the second attempt of the fried calamari, I bit into a piece of plastic –seriously! At this point I contemplated walking out altogether. The waiter was sincere and apologetic. The manager did come by to offer to pay for dinner –he took care of half of the bill. We were all turned off by the calamari and were afraid to eat anything else but, I was hungry. My main entrée was the bay shrimp salad, which again for the price was not worth it. Also it came with the bacon when I requested no bacon...so, unfortunately that went back to the kitchen. Things just could not go right tonight and this has never happened to me before. The waiter was as accommodating as possible but, it is not a restaurant I would ever visit again. I can get better quality food and service and so can you! We left still hungry.

My friend and I dined at this location and the food was good and the service was nice. Nothing stood out to me about this restaurant but my friend and I still had a nice time. We split the bill and each tipped our server $4.00 (total with tip came to $30 each) and left. When I saw the transaction come through on my bank account, I was overcharged by $4.00, making it $34! I was confused as to what happened and maybe I had written it down wrong in my checkbook. I called my friend to see what her final bill came to and she said we only paid $30 each but when she checked her bank account, it was also $34! The server took the liberty of giving herself an extra $8.00 tip, totaling $16! We were very upset but when my friend called the restaurant, the manager was very kind. He looked up our receipts, recognized that we were incorrectly charged and said he would reverse the charges. Could not have asked for a more understanding person to talk to. Too bad his servers are not as trust worthy. Moral of the story: Make sure to keep your receipt and check what you are charged!! There is a chance you could be overcharged and paying more than what was on the receipt!

Great restaurant for special occasions or date night. Food is delicious, service was excellent, atmosphere was nice, can get a little loud though if place is packed. Ordered the artichoke heart & gruyere dip & calamari fritti for our appetizers, followed by their rib eye steak and bleu cheese tenderloin medallions, both were served with buttermilk mashed potatoes. It was the best mashed potatoes Ive ever had! It was so rich & creamy! We were so full but couldnt resist to try their dessert menu. So ordered a chocolate salted caramel crater cake and a hot fudge sundae which they served with a cone of hot fudge sauce. Everything was amazingly delicious! Will definitely come back to try the rest of their entrées!

Truly a wonderful experience! The food was outstanding. I had the halibut, it was the best Ive ever had. Our waiter James was wonderful! He was very patient with answering my questions & truly pleasant. He made our dining experience here one of the best we have ever had. We met the manager who was very nice & took the time to talk to us about their new restaurant opening in Brentwood, Ca. He also brought the new chef for the Brentwood Zephyr Bar & Grill over to meet us. Wow what a truly wonderful time we had. Looking forward to dining at their new location opening in June! Thank you all for making my birthday dinner one to remember!

Weve been to Zephyr many times but lately it seems theyve lost a step. Salad was badly overdressed, uneven salting on my app, two rolls for a table of three, and the normally magnificent meatloaf was a bit dry. The fries were excellent as usual. The red wine was beyond warm; I had to let it sit most of the meal to cool down to a serving temperature. Our server was very good, making up for an awkward host. Overall it was still good but for the price...

Its good, but not amazing. I enjoyed the prime rib but felt underwhelmed in general. The prices add up quick but I wasnt paying so thats a plus. Nobody had complaints at the table, but the compliments were minimal as well. That being said, I definitely think its a good try. They had a lot going for their menu and all 8 of the people at the table enjoyed their food so this place definitely has a nice consistent taste going for it.

I had a nice peppersteak, done perfectly to order. The sauce was mediocre and the sweet potatoes were not quite done, but the fingerling potatoes were great . . . My husband had the spaghetti, he said it was "pretty good" but that the parmesean garlic toast was Really Good. My martini was generous and done well. points for originality on the mint chocolate brownie bites at the end of the meal . . . that rocked.

Food is quiet pricey. Appetizers were amazing! Dinner options (especially New York and Tenderloins) were not very good. Fish options were very flavorful. Prime rib had lots of flavor. When ordering meat options order 1 step down from what you would normally. If you want Medium, order Medium Rare. Staff is amazing and very attentive. Atmosphere is very quaint and cozy! Bar menu is great!

Weve eaten here twice recently and both times received excellent service. The food is amazing! Yesterday I had the Baja tacos and my husband had the popcorn shrimp with a grilled pear salad - every bite was perfection! Both times the manager stopped by to make sure we were ok. Zephyr is going to become one of our favorite places to eat in Livermore!

I used to think the food was good here. The last two times have been very disappointing. Dont order the filet of sole (tilapia I think). It was fried in old tasting oil and was like leather around the edges. The salad was fine, the drink was fine, the roll was as hard as a rock. The cost was ridiculous. Sorry but I wont be going here anymore.

Their staff stole my iphone off the table in the time it took me to walk to my car and turn around and walk back in! No one else was in the back room when my group left so it had to be staff. Management didnt even get up from the bar to help me when I went back in asking for it. I am going to file a police report. Dont go here!

Burgers are half price at happy hour (bar only), so they end up costing what they should. The burgers used to be pretty good, but the last time we went there they were tasteless and dry. They changed the patty, seems like theyre using a lot of filler now. The fries are excellent. The bartenders are barely mediocre.
