Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like boiled chicken (really tough) in red sauce with very little cream. The naan was very tough and not very tasty. More like eating the bottom of a shoe. It was a bad buffet level of Indian food for the same price as an exceptional Indian restaurant. I actually made chicken tikka masala and wanted to compare theirs. My kids wouldnt even eat the one from this restaurant. As a side note, when I walked in, there was only one person in sight and that one person was dining. Thats 2 major bad signs: no one wants to come and no one who works there expects someone to want to come. My new rule is bolt whenever that happens again. Go places where theyre happy (and waiting) to welcome you into the restaurant...and where you dont feel like the only sucker to not know the place was condemned last week.

My wife and I have been enjoying Natraj for many years--the one off of Alicia Parkway. I believe there are 3 locations but I can only vouch for this one. What I am always looking for in a restaurant is great food prepared and served consistently. Every time weve eaten there weve come away happy and satisfied. There was never a bad experience and there was never any change in how we were treated and served. To me this a blessing. I usually get the chicken curry and one of the things I like about it is that you can choose the heat--1 to 10. I like it hot so I get like a 7. They changed the décor so the atmosphere is even better now. They have discount cards which defray the cost. The prices are reasonable. I also love the condiments served with a crispy flat bread. I have nothing bad to say. Enjoy! Will

Ive had Indian food at two other restaurants back where I lived in Virginia and this did not meet my standards. Ordering the chicken tikka masala for takeout, their packaging was inconvenient and led to easy spillage of my curry and little rice. Naan had too much oil and became soggy. Curry is too salty and not enough cream. The chicken is bland without the sauce and too large in chunks (I questioned if it was marinated). Rice was too hard but was separated well. What I did like was the staff who took my order and spicy level! My food was prepared quickly and everything I ordered was included. Overall the main concern is the salt, ruined the meal.

Have been here a few times. Its more of a hit or miss situation. On several occasions , the food seems like its frozen and not fresh. I believe the only time they do have good fresh food was during Mothers day brunch. The waiters are kind but the owner of the restaurant seems to be a bit obnoxious. The restaurant itself could use a bit of more upbeat atmosphere. Although they have renovated recently, by adding a few chairs and tables in the front the inside of the restaurant stills seems a bit dull and outdated. Overall an experience that just isnt exciting enough on the taste-buds.

Food is excellent but the staff arent very friendly. Ive picked up food from here quite a bit and I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt and who doesnt have an off day but the staff is not very welcoming. In particular, the fellow with a ponytail looks disappointed every time Ive seen him. Its kind of laughable how poor their customer service is. The guy just tossed my food on the counter and walked off. Had to ask for utensils, just basic stuff a 16 year old at his first job could get right. Call and place an order if you dont believe me. Food is excellent though

The lunch buffet is an amazing deal, especially if you arent very familiar with Indian food and want to try a variety of things. The restaurant itself is wonderfully decorated and very chic, and even with babies along we didnt feel awkward. In fact, every time weve gone the waiters and hosts have always been very cheerful and friendly to the little ones - a big plus in my book. The food has been hot and flavorful, the naan is terrific. The price is a bargain, and I cant wait to go again.

We came after the lunch buffet was over, so we ordered two dishes and shared. The mushroom and cashew mudder was really fantastic; the other thing was kind of forgettable (ie I forgot the name). The meal came with free flatbread crackers that were just OK. We also ordered garlic Naan, which was also just OK (one star off - you need good Naan at an indian restaurant!). They had a the music turned up way too loud, too, which was silly since the place was practically empty (one star off).

Ive never been to this restaurant before, so I figured I would try it out (I did carry out, not dine-in). The employee that helped me was very kind and easy to talk to. However, there were small pieces of broken glass in the food. I was eating Chicken Curry, Saag Paneer, and the Saffron rice at the time, so Im not sure which dish had the glass. The sad part is, the food was very very good, hence the 3 stars and not 1 for glass in my teeth.

The food is amazing. Staff is rude and lazy. Walked by us several times and ignored us when we asked for something to drink. Ordered a diet coke 3 times. One guy just walked in and out of the kitchen and just shuffled chairs as if he was working. Wiped the same table 5 times. The only time one guy looked our way was when we were leaving. Been here twice. Would come more often if service was better.

Game changing Indian food like Ive never had before. If you like Indian food, you need to come here. If you think you dont like Indian food, you need to come here. Fresh, unique twist on traditional fare and DELICIOUS. The staff is super friendly but they could be total assholes and I would still give this place 3 stars.

Something is not right with this place. We dined there on April 24th 2010 weekend - me, my wife and 2 year old. The child experienced continuous vomiting and both we parents were nauseous for a few days. We had navaratna korma and were given some rice (complementary) but I feel it was the rice that did it

The food was really good, the location was really nice most of the staff was really nice but the old guy that was bartender had a chip on his shoulder and was really rude. Apparently he is some how related to some there...all the more reason to play nice. We are not in school here.

Natraj is a delight. I know it gets downplayed sometimes, but I really like it, my wife likes it and I always consider it a treat to come here to eat. The prices are reasonable and the servings are generous. I am always satisfied after I eat here.

We visited Natraj first time and impressed with food, decor and service. It was a pleasure meeting the owner. I am going to recommend to our senior group of 40 people. Bipin Engineer (Former Admnistrative Law Judge, NY State).

The owner is really a wonderful person, it felt like I am actually in India and someone is helping me ordering and getting tastiest of food. We loved Biryani and samosas... i know where i will go once in that area
