More upscale restaurant chain than the usual chain options with appropriately accompanied food quality and prices. Service is also more attentive than most typical chains and atmosphere is a bit more lush. The food has always been terrific, from starter bread to appetizers, wine, entrees and dessert. Quality is great and taste is GOOD. Rather than stick with my favorites, I tend to order from the Festa Regionale menu to score the goodies for qualifying orders. Its a great excuse to try new things and you can end up with some nice stuff to take home. From pasta to olive oils and special plates, swag is appealing. It can get busy (ie long wait) so I advise dining between 1 and 6. Enjoy the more slim crowds, attentive service, tasty food and relaxed vibe.

I travel all over the country and have experienced service at many different locations. I recently enjoyed a regional menu meal at Il Fornaio of Irvine on the suggestion of my server Lori. Her description of the meal was perfect, as was her service. She made this very enjoyable for our family, and we will be back for sure. Lori was the best server we have ever had at Il Fornaio and I certainly hope she is appreciated. The food was great, and the service was even better. Thank you Lori!

The food is very good - maybe a little pricey in comparison to other places but ambiance and service are typically better too. I usually try different menu items - a great time to do this is the Festa Regionale where different regional dishes and wine are featured each month If you order from that special menu, you can go home with some cool stuff (my favorite to date was truffle olive oil). In all, its an enjoyable Italian restaurant with reliability that comes with a chain.

Be careful about parking as they only validate one structure, otherwise just stick to valet as in the end it will be cheaper than paying for parking if you cant validate. They werent ready to handle a group of our size it seemed. They mixed up the medium rare and the medium well steaks. They also got me the wrong salad despite being the only one at the table who ordered the mixed green. The espresso con panna was underwhelming, but it is a restaurant and not a coffee shop.

I will only base my review on the service we received at this Italian Restaurant. Our waiter was an absolutely amazing guy who wanted nothing more than to make sure everything we needed was taken care of. He was very good about checking in on us and when we had a problem with our order he was expedient to rectify the situation. The staff and management at this restaurant are very courteous and want nothing more than for you to leave satisfied from their establishment.

We were looking for a different restaurant in the same area but decided, instead of driving who-knows-where, to try II Fornios. It was 12:30pm so it was busy with the lunch crowd but the decor is nice and the dining room very inviting. We were seated by the window which was also nice. The waiter seemed a bit distracted but overall the service was good. The food was very good! Well very likely return here again and I would recommend it.

I can only speak for the Cafe, as this is where I spend most of my time. The pastrys are delicious, Coffee is reasonably priced allowing for a free refill if you come back same day. The people are friendly and accommodating. Would absolutely come here for my morning coffee run over Starbucks any day. The only downside is there is no parking nearby. They will validate your parking if you park in the nearby structure. Great Place!

Went there with the family as a last resolve. We didnt expect much, we only knew it was an Italian restaurant. We were surprised how good it was. Ive got the lasagna which was one of the best Ive ever had and the others got the 3 part menu special, mostly seafood. The dessert was great (get the chocolate fondant). Overall, it was a great surprise in the neighborhood. I will come back next week with friends.

This place is by no means cheap, but honestly Id rather go to Olive Garden. The pasta dish I ordered (pasta shells with sundried tomato and chicken) was bland and the pasta was completely undercooked. My brother ordered a seafood linguine and was given spaghetti noodles instead. In all fairness, the place was busy that day so maybe they were rushed and messed some things up, but I wont be going back.

Love this Italian restaurant. Parking is a little bit annoying as you will have to pay to park in a structure. Not sure if the restaurant validates for that. There also is valet out front. Beautifully decorated interior. I always order the Tagliatelle alla bolognese and it is incredible. Also love their dessert cart and spumoni ice cream. Delicious!

They have excellent service. The food taste really good. We started off with appetizers. Which were excellent. Please try the raw beef, because it is excellent. First timer, and the plate didnt make it around the table. Dinner was good too. Area was under construction at the time I went. I have bad back. The seats were comfortable.

Great place for Italian food. I found this place for the first time last week and I absolutely loved it. I went with my wife in the middle of the week and had a great time, the service was great and the food was spot on. Our server took incredible care of us and had great recommendations. We will definitely go back

Excellent service and great home style Italian food. Located next door to paper moon vintage and Il Fornaio Irvine, this is a great date spot! Wood fire Italian food, a selection of hearty pasta dishes and an impressive selection of appetizers. Super glad we found this and we will be back!

Excellent food and nice service! Im Italian in Irvine for business and honestly I really liked this restaurant so I came here twice. I had a salad the first time and a pizza vegetariana the second. They offered us some cannoli the first time and they were pretty good :)

When youre craving a nice hot juicy steak, this is the place to come. Have dined here several times and never been disappointed. Love the Cesar salad, the lobster is always cooked to perfection. The service is outstanding. Well definitely be back, again & again.

Il Fornaio had a friendly staff and a nice ambiance. It wasnt crowded. The Italian food was decent but a bit pricey. The parking is a hassle and confusing because of all the construction. Go here for a date or birthday dinner, not a quick bite.

Sandwiches from the panini are tasty although expensive for the portion considering how much business the get. In order words, its a ripoff. Youre better off driving around with a bunch of colleagues and getting better food for the same price.

Went here for my daughters birthday . Was seated in a noisy room ,waitress was a little snobby as if we werent good enough to be there . Food was ok but very expensive for a small steak with 3 shrimp on top and a dish of mashed potatoes.
