I am rating this place 1 star do to how poorly my issue got handled by the staff member I spoke with. This employee claims to have work there for 20yrs she was EXTREMELY rude and spoke to me in a demeaning manner, as if I was the one that was wrong. I was recommended to visit this place, heard nothing but pleasant things about it by a family member. Attempted to make a campsite reservation 5 days in advance. The staff member that took the call said it was to late for reservations, they do reservations a week in advance min. I said okay no problem. We got in on Friday theres was only 1 staff member behind the counter. When it was my turn I told the employee we needed a campsite, and that we would only be staying one night. I also asked if there was a limit as to how many people could be in a campsite? Her response "none" I then informed her I was expecting 6 additional people that would be driving in 2 cars and asked how much more would they have to pay? She stated "it would be an additional $10 per vehicle" I repeated the information she had just provided me, just to confirm. She nodded her head and said "yes" When the rest of my party got in one was charged $15 and the other one $30. I called and spoke to the employee that claims to be working here for 20yrs in attempts to getting things cleared out. She informed me that they "had a new girl and that she would speak to her." I informed her that it would be a great idea yet my issue was not resolved which she then very loudly said "well what do you want me to do to fire her!? Or what" I told her that Id like for what was quoted to me to be honored seeing that it was not my error. She then stated she "oh no, no, no I can not do that!" Note: At no time during this conversation did she offer to take it up to management, an apology or a reason as to why she was unable to honer even part of what information had been given by another employee. During this entire conversation I was never rude nor did I yell, no customer should ever receive such a treatment. This employees behavior should not be tolerated and in all honesty she should be the one getting fired not the new girl. If you have been working at the same place for 20yrs then you should already know better. Just saying

So thought this place was more family oriented NO CONTROL OVER DRUNKS AND LOUD MUSIC thats first and far most the worst thing a owner operator can SAY it was a Holiday weekend so sorry...Um NO this weekend was no Holiday or fun at all when your children are scared and cant sleep because there is a Rave party or something all night tried to yell Quiet Time they started mocking back thats nice classy really grown bug no problem campsite enjoyed...so I complain Sat am oh we will have someone go around tonight well guess WHAT THAT DID NOT HAPPENED so our trip could have been so much better if owners managers whatever got a grip on TOO LOUD OF MUSIC AND THE DRUNKS TALKING AS ITS 3 IN AFTERNOON NOT 3 AM and our family stays up fishing low music RESPECTFUL. I am hopi g for answer maybe discount one day out of weekend I felt like I was just a paying cash cow..and complainig still has done no good...we would like to come back if the can be controlled or 86d like rules say very Frustrated #90 christina khan Aug 4-6

We had a FANTASTIC time and the staff was super accommodating, answering our questions and giving us suggestions on bait/tackle and where to fish. The camping spots were great, each had a picnic table, ours was cement so no weathering to deal with, a grill and a cement fire pit. We were close to the restrooms, which was cleaner than others at campgrounds I have been to in the past. We also had breakfast @ the tackle box cafe and it was phenomenal. Your cook did such an outstanding job that when I am in the area again, whether I am fishing or not, I will be coming back in for food. We got skunked on the fish but will be back.

Came out to check the place out last week prior to driving my RV there for vacation. Like most resorts in California, the good lakeside full hook up sites are taken by long term residents, leaving little to no good spots for RV camping. This could be a great resort if they added 30 to 50 amp service to some the rest of the campgrounds so older and less heat tolerable people "108 degrees that day" could enjoy it having power for A/C and other necessities. It pays to take a drive and check things out, its a beautiful location, just not very RV friendly. Taking vacation elsewhere.

We went fishing there many years ago, I really liked it and would like to go back, I do not understand why the California Department of Fish and Game is stocking this lake though since it is privately owned. I do not remember them having a pool table back when I went there but if I ever go back I will have to jump on it and play some pool. Some really nice fish in the aquarium, I remember there was a very nice sized Black Bass in it. Even though it rained and we broke a shear pin on the boats propeller it was still fun.

This review is based solely on my two phone calls to the resort to ask questions about camping vs. RV park, and status of fishing, water levels, boat restrictions. I spoke to a woman the first time and a man the second time. I have never had such unbelievably nice, helpful, friendly phone customer service from any RV resort in California or the Southwest (people in Wyoming and Idaho are generally extremely nice too). I am excited to camp there this weekend. Will update my review once we actually stay there.

Absolutely great! Been camping here recently and the only complaint I have is the price tag ($25 a night plus $8 to fish per day). That being said, it is well worth it. The trout are big, the catfish as well (A guy pulled out a 23 pound catfish when we were there two weeks ago) and the people are by and large extremely friendly. Its a great family atmosphere. Theres even a cafe/bar type restaurant at the main lodge. No complaints! If youve got some spare cash get out there off the bank and get some fish!

One of the worst sites I have been to. I have camped all over California and this is comparable to perhaps camp far west. Large groups, annoying drunks, music loud at all hrs and no where to hide and squat to pee if need be during the day. The bathrooms are far and few, the heat was unbearable, the water filthy, and the bugs...worse bug case I think I ever dealt with camping. Knates EVERYWHERE. THOUSANDS. Will not visit this camp ground again.

I love Amador. Laurie is awesome, as well as the rest of the staff there. Great fishing, great lake. Its just awesome. Id live in a tent there the rest of my life if I could. For me the $25 a night and $8 fishing is WELL worth the food at the cafe, and the peace of throwing out a line and not having to worry about somebody on a jet-ski or boat with a million speakers on it. Add the staff that runs it and you cant beat it. Keep Amador alive!
