For years, the Thai Orchid has been my favorite restaurant in Healdsburg, where Ive especially enjoyed their coconut soup, curry noodle soup, tofu larb, and eggplant with basil. However, yesterday, when I ordered the curry noodle soup with fried tofu, I was given a bowl of soup with chicken. I immediately pointed out the error (after double-checking with my dining partner to make sure that my order had been clear), and stressed that I dont eat meat. I was brought what I believed to be a new bowl of soup with tofu on top. But as I was eating the leftovers later in the day, I discovered a piece of chicken, which leads me to believe that they just picked out the chicken from my soup and slapped some tofu on top. Alas, that breech of trust means I will never go back to the Thai Orchid.

We rented a vacation home in Healdsburg and made reservations here based on previous tenants reviews. Our car group set off to the restaurant, and we arrived at a tiny strip mall near Safeway...OK, I confess I thought I made a mistake. But really, the food was excellent. Service was great too! All four generations of our family were happy with our meal. The Coconut Chicken Soup was the best Ive ever had--I even ordered more to go for that night.

Love this place! I eat here weekly. The Tom Kha Kai (coconut chicken soup) is my all tie favorite. I am also super into the Pad Kee Mao (pan fried wide flat noodles with basil, I like pork for mine). Pumpkin Curry with beef, Duck Basil, I mean shoot its all pretty darn awesome! :)

Refused to put tofu in anything. Not very vegetarian friendly. Having lived in Thai town, I was more than a bit dissappointed. A bit too many onions and greenbeans in the yellow curry and not too many, if any potatoes or carrots. Not the style of Thai food Im familiar with.
