My boyfriend and I love coming here for brunch on the weekends and Ill usually come in when Im working from home for lunch. They have a different menu for the weekend than for weekdays. Weekends use the brunch menu and weekdays use the lunch and breakfast menus. For lunch on weekdays, I usually get the turkey sandwich. Pretty tasty and not heavy, so I dont feel like Im overeating. If Im feeling hungrier, Ive also really liked the chicken sandwich and the burger (which I usually get with gruyère and avocado). Be forewarned that the burger is usually stacked pretty high, so it can be quite the mouthful! The brisket sandwich is pretty good too, but not my favorite. The green goddess salad is pretty good and Ive also generally enjoyed their soup. The brunch menu is the best. I always get the eggs A street with a side of sausage patties. The eggs A street is such a wonderful, healthier take on eggs benedict (which they also have). It has such a nice flavor and I much prefer the creamed artichoke sauce over hollandaise. The sausage patties are amazing! Ive always been tempted to get the hunters hash, but it always seems like a crazy amount of food and Im usually stuffed after the eggs A street. Ive also had the eggs benedict here and the breakfast sandwich, which are good, but not nearly as good as the eggs A street. The cannery also hosts a monthly pop up dinner that is usually really good. Definitely check that out if you like the menu!

Yummy! Eggs A street were a delightful change on the usual eggs Benedict. Beautifully poached eggs. Creamy artichoke sauce. Flavorful big tomatoes. I substituted sweet potato tots for the regular potatoes and they were well worth it! Lightly crispy. And a nice change on the tots vs the usual fries. Pancakes were light and airy but I didnt much taste ricotta or lemon. They definitely were different from regular pancakes tho. Much lighter taste. The berry compote was ok. Friend ordered the sweet potato poutine and was hoping to add pulled pork to it. The cashier went to the kitchen to ask several times if it were possible but apparently they dont serve any pork on the weekend. Friend was disappointed with the dish because it lacked authenticity. He would have preferred regular potatoes and a meatier gravy sauce. He did enjoy the avocado & cheese curds tho. My other friend greatly enjoyed their ice coffee and ended up ordering another glass to go and asked for the brand. I liked the modern , bright decor of the place. Free admission in the artsy historical museum today. Sweet :)

Came here after hearing so much about it from people. Their menu had a few options, but the brunch menu had way more options. I ordered the squash, basil, pesto, scrambled egg sandwich ($7.95 with no meat) and then I added bacon to it for $2. The menu says "butternut squash" but the paper menu says "seasonal squash"...I got zucchini instead of butternut; little disappointing because those are very different flavors. It was a little more pricey than I was hoping to spend. The sandwich was big and filling and came with a side of fresh fruit. The cafe is very clean and they sell homemade salad dressings and desserts as well. Its nice that afterwards when youre full you can go walk around the museum (Dillon at the front desk is awesome!) Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of pricing. I will definitely be back to try the brunch menu.

Nice clean cafe inside a small gallery with parking lot in the back. The Yelp check-in offer is now removed from this page. There was a free coffee/orange juice deal at the time I visited Cannery Cafe, but they were no longer accepting it. I wish they had granted it until it was officially taken off the page, as a courtesy to avoid an awkward encounter. I soon forgot about the service inconvenience as soon as the food was brought to the table. Even the turkey sandwich is made of quality thick-cut deli meat. My tofu veggie scramble was served hot and tasted homemade, not greasy. The potatoes were toasty and crisp. Eggs benedict and certain brunch items are served on weekends only. The weekday menu is almost the same. Would recommend!

I give this place 5 stars for the food. It was excellent with super high-quality ingredients. The staff are all very nice and mean well Im sure, but they are untrained, inexperienced, and pretty much totally disorganized. I tried to order a bacon and egg breakfast, but that wasnt available?!? I had to order the eggs, the bacon, the potatoes, and the toast as separate side dishes that came at different times on separate plates. Somebody who understands the restaurant business needs to go in there and explain things to them. Thats all it would take to make this place great.

Great for weekend brunch. I havent been here for any other meal. Hayward suffers from a lack of good brunch places, so I highly recommend this if youre looking for brunch fare with a side of mimosa or a local craft brew. Seating is cafeteria style, and tables turn pretty quickly. Theres usually a line on weekends, so I recommend going early. They are also attached to the Hayward historical society or something? Theres a museum entrance inside the restaurant.

Pretty amazing place to have a brunch. It takes a while for the food to come, but its delicious. Well, depending on how many people in cafe it might take more or less time I guess. We were group of 4 and everyone ordered different thing and everyone was happy with their choice. Staff is very nice and friendly, plenty of options to choose from. Try their homemade orange juice!

Sweet Potato tot Poutine w/ sausage gravy, cheese curds and avocado - so delicious, and filling. Eggs over easy were perfectly cooked to order, the staff is pleasant and attentive, and the place is spotless. Ill be coming back every time Im in town. Highly recommend.

Its an order at the counter kind of place, but they still have a number of helpful wait staff. There offer Tofu as a protein option. You can get a Tofu scramble for breakfast or brunch, but its more like a veggie saute. The homefries are great, as are the cookies!

Good, good food. I highly recommend their ricotta pancakes, and their biscuits and gravy for breakfast. For lunch, their turkey sandwich is excellent. Service is friendly and personable. A warning though, its a small cafe that gets crowded fast during peak hours.
