Went last night with a party of 7. I had the Catalan Fish Stew. It tasted...ok, but it was more a thin gruel than any kind of stew. And the portion was ridiculously small. Should maybe have been the soup before the main course. And it was $28.00. I also asked about the Bein Soleil oysters but was advised by the waiter that they were out but had a different kind that were very large. I ordered 3 of them at $3.50 per and they too were ridiculously tiny. Another in my party ordered the $14 hamburger with cheese to be cooked medium. It came out blood rare. Actually cold on the inside. Not a good experience for anyone in my party. The wait staff while friendly, didnt appear, to us at least, to know the basics of the menu. Even the dessert was sub par. I had the cheesecake and it tasted like I could have bought it at Safeway. One more thing. No one ever approached our table to ask how we were enjoying the food. Just set the food down and never saw them again. I wont be going back.

I went here recently with my parents. I checked the menu on their website and found some dishes we liked. After driving out to Graton, we found that the real menu had changed. No Moroccan lamb or roasted chicken. We chose other options as it was late and no chance to escape to Syrah. I ordered a French onion soup which never turned up and when I asked where it was the waitress said "do you still want it". Well, not anymore since my main course had arrived. The Beef Bourguignon was more like marinated beef chunks than the classic dish. So to summarize, if you want to eat here, call up to check that the menu on the website is correct. In their defense, they gave us a free desert to share but that did not make up for the disappointment. This place is famous for its Mojitos. Well, they are average and nothing special as I make them and have experienced the real thing in Miami. There are far better places in Sonoma to eat such as Syrah and Starks.

Wonderful bar scene! We like having dinner at the bar. The portions, especially the soup, could be a bit more ample. The drinks are well-poured, generous and delish. The salads/hamburgers/ribs all tasty- and lots of friendly people. But! If youre looking for a romantic evening, forget it - as this place has to be the noisiest in town. Getting a table in the other room doesnt solve the problem. Its loud and grating. Still, for fun and good food its great/Graton. Were glad to have this restaurant nearby and open late.

Underwoods always has some great seasonal or daily dishes, healthy sized portions, great staff and service, and good energy. Sometimes its a bit toooooo crowded for my tastes, but that is a small complaint. I do wish there was easier or better parking, the whole town suffers from the lack of it. The bar seems to have its own party going on most of the time, which is the epicenter of the crowd, and which I tend to avoid. Nonetheless, it is it own kind of place without much in the way of similar places.

This place is overpriced for what you get. We asked for the burger medium rare and it came out charred and completely overcooked, well done. For a 17 dollar burger to come out horribly overcooked is not acceptable. They also completely forgot to put in our side order which we ended up canceling since we basically had finished the rest of the meal. The seafood stew was good as was the corn ravioli, but this place is not nice enough to be pricing many entrees at 30 bucks.

If NYCs Keith McNallys (Odeon, Balthazar, Pastise, Minetta Tavern, etc.) name was on this youd have slobbered all over the Food Porn articles already. Best restaurant in Sonoma Co. Hangar steak, Steak Frites, Trout salad ... perfection. Braised greens, Frisee au Lardon and Duck Confit... transcendent. Run, dont walk to Underwood. As if it mattered, the bar is gorgeous with truly creative and delicious drinks.

Just got off the phone. I live at blue spruce senior park and this restaurant is the best. Each time I have had a different fish and than the desert menu. Then when I call for pick up they are always so helpful even when they busy. The best customer service too. I take my little dog with me. They never make me feel like am not welcome. Thank you.

Have lived near this restaurant and its been such a pleasure going here on special occasions and to meet with friends for a drink. Cocktails are amazing and their burgers are to die for. People come from all over after wine tasting just to eat here. You wont be disappointed. :)

this is definitely my favorite place to go in Sonoma county it has great service, a fun atmosphere, and best of all really good food! If you are up there and it is not dinner time yet you should try out its sister restaurant Wilow wood (it is right across the street)!

Love! The food is delicious, imaginative and tasty, the atmosphere is natural and easy, and service is pretty close to perfect. I like this place a lot and go for special occasions. A bit pricey but thats not unexpected for the quality.

This is one of those hidden/maybe not so hidden gems of the west county. The appetizers were loaded with flavor, cocktails were great, great social buzz about the place without feeling like just another stuffy bar.

My wife and I have been there several times and have never had a bad experience. The cocktails are well poured and the food is very good. Oysters are always fresh and yummy. The service is friendly and prompt.

A very fun, lively yet upscale bistro like restaurant with a happening bar scene. Delicious and varied selection of food, including tapas. Delightful staff. One of my two favorites in this area.

The scallops were amazing and the beet salad was cooked perfectly. Surprised they didnt have more Sonoma (or California for that matter) wines. The olive oil was delicious but was From Italy.

Super yum!!! Be prepared for good food and drinks. Pricey, but so good! Gorgeous bar and several seating areas for the bar and restaurant. Lots of conversation, so a bit noisy.

Great food. A bit slow getting attention after we were seated but it could have been a fluke. After order was taken everything was fine. Excellent food and would return.
