One of the better bars for sports viewing in downtown, but I wish the food was better. I have been going here since it opened and they cant seem to find the right combo of food and price. First it was super fancy and expensive, then typical bar food, then it appeared they hit their stride with a better than average menu, if a little expensive. Unfortunately it wasnt to last. I went there this weekend and there is again a new menu and it is a lot cheaper, but the quality is down along with the price. My boyfriend had the meatball sandwich which was pretty good, but the fries were cold and unsalted. I ordered the Grand Slam Chicken which came out as grilled chicken with cheddar and bacon, but no toppings. It was dry and really needed the typical burger toppings with it - lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato. The cajun tots I ordered were cold and the seasoning mediocre. I dont know why the menu was changed, but it isnt for the better. I like this place just fine as a sports bar, but with such great food options in this town I wont be choosing to eat there again any time soon

I decided to go to On Deck a couple weeks ago to check out the Sunday games. Last year, I went to the City ever week and although the food was average the service was pretty good and the games were always on the TV. I would NEVER, EVER go back to On Deck after my experience. You are greeted with apathy and indifference from the staff (most of whom, obviously dont want to be there). The TVs are not labeled with games. By 1 PM half of the TVs did not even have NFL games on. People were constantly getting aggravated asking for this game or that game. Total confusion. Forget about the switch with the late game, because that was total disaster. On top of that, the food takes forever and a day to come out. My buddy next to me waited over an hour and a half for french toast. My food was missing the side and condiments. Incredibly, there was no manager or floor person around on a Sunday. You could tell that Sunday football is an afterthought here which is hard to believe given the setup and location.

Just had the WORST bar none customer experience with Danny/danni/dani the manager. We watched our hummus plate go to another table and politely found our waitress and mentioned we thought that happened and it did. 20 mins later still no hummus, hummus mind you! Now they were packed and I get that. After 30 mins with nothing I calmly walked to the front and asked for the manager and was taken to see Danny or however she spells her name and explained what had happened and that we still didnt have the hummus plate. She looked at me and said "Well it went to the wrong table" and I responded I knew this but it happened over twenty minutes ago. She looked at me and said verbatim " What do you want me to do about it?" extremely snotty. I stood there stunned by her complete rudeness as she grabbed a hummus plate and shoved in my hand and turned away. We left the untouched plate and are never ever going back, not even because of the wait, specifically because if this interaction

My alumni groups have been coming to the On Deck in The Pearl for several years for game viewing and networking. And Ive met friends there periodically. So when I decided to do a fun, informal gathering for my birthday, retirement and new business, I thought of this great venue and its many screens, good food and brews, staff and patio. When I discovered that the Red Sox were playing the Cubs at Fenway on the preferred night, the ideal situation became an easy choice. Over three months I worked with Dani to plan it. When the evening arrived, the weather held up, about 40 people showed up over a few hours, the staff was great, the food was tasty, the pitchers of Oregon brews flowed, and the Red Sox won! What more could I ask for? Thanks Dani and the On Deck crew. You made a special night memorable.

I worked a promo here May 2009 - sampling alcohol. One of the serving staff accused me of only being there to take her tips and when a very rowdy, drunk customer got handsy with me and stole some of my promotional gear, I went to the manager for assistance and he told me it was my problem. I didnt want to finish my shift! I felt disrespected and unsafe. First, I was hired by someone in management at On Deck to do a fun, upbeat, sampling promotion. I have never, ever been treated so badly. I will never return - to work a promotion or as a customer. If they treat their promo girls like this, I cant imagine how they treat their regular staff.

Recently spent happy hour at On Deck, and we were woefully dissappointed. The outdoor seating area was awesome, but the service was crap. The bartender could have cared less about us, and the frantic waitress was too busy to serve our large and growing group of thirsty, paying customers. Eventually we were assigned a waitress, and this poor girl was the only bright spot of the afternoon - she did honestly try to make-up for the neglect from the first waitress and the snobby, lazy bartender. Yeah for her. But boo for everything else... and the happy hour deals arent really that great.

Great management, great staff, great clientele (for the most part). A few of my favorite menu options such as the fish burger & cheese sticks have unfortunately been taken away the last few years, but theres still plenty of great stuff on the menu, like the On-Deck burger w/ potato salad. The beef patty is really tender, bun absolutely delicious, vegetables taste great. Also, folks coming in looking to be trouble-makers (happens rarely), do get kicked out. I love it when they plays 80s music in the evenings, and as a regular patron, theyve worked hard to treat me like family there.

My friends and I watched "the fight of the century" /*sarcasm*/ here. Although the fight was a huge let-down, On Deck was actually a great place to watch it. The beer was decent (Im sure many places have a much better selection - given the locale) and the TVs were all positioned where everyone could comfortably watch. However, the thing that gives it 5 stars in my book were the tater tots. Those things were surprisingly good. They were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside but not dry on the inside. I had tots at other "fancier" places in town and these were the best.

I just had delivery from here, I live a few miles away and the stake was perfect tender but not mush. The cake was grate like a cake brownie with fudge oozing between the multiple layers. The onion rings wear excellent as well, the whole container stuffed to nearly overflowing with them, the only flaw with them might be that they went walla walla sweets. If youve had walla wallas in onion rings you get a bit spoiled, this was not totally a negative they were still grate. Having this quality of food delivered to me was rather surprising, and made my x-mass eve.
