Quintessential neighborhood ice cream spot. Ampersand Ice Cream is located on the corner of Weldon and Echo, just before the Van Ness continuation north of Weldon. They have their ready to sell ice cream in a fridge that stores roughly 12-16 tubs of different delicious ice cream flavors! The owners and their wonderful employees are never hesitant to talk ice cream or hand out samples to customers new and old. My go to is the Caramel Whiskey, though its always fun to share a flight of 4 with family and try out a ton of the other flavors. We had a strawberry balsamic last week and it was incredible. Super creamy and rich with a hint of carmelized developed flavors. Whats even better is getting ice cream during open hours at Kuppa Joy down the street and drowning a vanilla scoop in delicious espresso! This spot is great for enjoying ice cream after a quesadilla at the new restaurant next door to them or a caramel whiskey shake while you lounge in the shaded, informal parklet across the street. We love Tower, the Fresno High Neighborhood, and Ampersand Ice Cream!

Ampersand doesnt need another 5-star rating, but I cant resist promoting how awesome their ice cream is. We are recent transplants from the pacific northwest where I thought I experienced great ice cream. Ampersand delivers perfectly balanced ice cream (deliciously creamy, not too sweet). Their unique flavors arent over-the-top and rotate often enough to make each visit fresh. They serve their pints-to-go in reusable plastic containers that double as tupperware in our kitchen (which has the effect of making me want more ice cream whenever I see them in the cabinet or fridge).

Flights on flights (of Ice Cream) in Fresno! This hipster contemporary but diner-like ice cream joint serves creative and comfort flavors of everyones favorite dessert, in one or a few scoops OR on an awesome wooden block with 4 metal cups for ($8). I had a flight with coconut, strawberry, whiskey caramel, and banana. All the flavors were really good and the ice cream was very creamy and not overly sweet. They also have more traditional flavors like madagascar vanilla and chocolate, etc. A little pricey but the quality was solid and the flights were a nice presentation.

Gourmet Ice Cream. Do not come looking for typical flavors. Open your mind and try the.... I dont know, Beet & Thyme. Look Im telling you, the more insane there creation the more pleasantly surprised youll be. And ask to taste. They have real spoons an love turning you on. I like the Bourbon whatever it is, praline maybe and I have them add salt flake to the top. #@℅&! I think I talked myself into driving across town for ice cream right now. Oh and its located across the street from the (north/east corner of) beautifully renovated Fresno High School. Go Warriors!

This place cant be described without saying the word "simply". The flavors are simply divine and unique, with a different menu of flavors every season. The setting is simply charming with a rustic setting to it. But above all, it is simply one of the best spots in Fresno to make new friends and run into old ones. Every other time I go there, I see a familiar face in line, and end up having a conversation over a scoop or two of Bordeaux. If nothing else, they know that quality is a dish best served cold.

Small servings with big flavors. This place has a cool atmosphere with a unique selection of ice cream flavors that definitely hit the mark for those that like to eat off the beaten path. The other day I got something made with goat cheese, pistachios, and dates that was absolutely fantastic. It wasnt what I would call a classic food experience but something much better. The only thing to watch out for here is the price. If you go with your family it will set you back.

They have creative flavors. Sometimes a little over the top. Im not a huge ice cream person so I think its over priced for what you get but people I know who are, what I would call ice cream connoisseurs, say that its "amazing ice cream". So if you love ice cream then it might be worth it but for me for the same price Ill take a tub of rite aid ice cream. Its worth trying once for sure. plus they are a local business so they have that going for them too

Absolutely LOVE this place. They are all about local and what is seasonal. They are such a great addition to Fresno. They offer ice creams that are hand curated from milk that is from a local farm. They always have rotating ice creams along with the usual suspects. The great thing about here is that you can enjoy a flight of ice creams, just like at a brewery. Really amazing place, I highly suggest checking this place out!

Incredible collection of unique and inspired flavors of both ice cream and sorbet. Fresno is lucky to have two creative geniuses in Jeff and Amelia Bennett bringing a refreshing new offering to the Central Valley. The way in which the community has reacted with overwhelming demand shows just how needed something as cared for as Ampersand has been for a long time now. And make sure to try the Honeycomb!

I love going here for a scoop of ice cream. They always have such unique flavor, I have to try something new every time. It has been deservedly growing in popularity and I often see people I know here. My friends and I usually like to come here after an event, since its open so late, which makes it convenient. Sometimes its nowhere near our event and we make the trip anyways, because its worth it.

This is a cute little place with friendly people. The homemade icecream is delicious and they have an interesting variety of flavors you wont find at other icecream shoppes. I had the sweet corn, which was fabulous! The servings are a little on the small side. Two scoops are about the size of one scoop, but the ice cream is very rich even leaving that real cream coating on the roof of your mouth.

I love their ice cream!!! Once you walk in you are greeted by the employees. If you want a sample of an ice cream you may get one!!! They offer many flavors and they also have their specialties. They also sell cookies in which the chocolate chip is my favorite!!! Very well clean kept place. I love about 25 minutes away from this place but honestly its worth the drive!!!

Love this place! The fun inventive seasonal flavors are my favorite because where else are you going to get something like roasted sunflower and blueberry ice cream? Then you try the classic flavors and even those are so much better than just regular old chocolate or vanilla. Its too hard to decide, just get the 4 flavor sampler.

The family loved it... tasted awesome... Jeff and his staff were very helpful and friendly. They just ran out of rocky road, but told me they could make some and have it ready in 15 minutes. Took them less than 10, and was awesome! Superior Dairy has nothing on these guys and I love that its right here in Fresno.

My son introduced me to Ampersand, we are there frequently and Im never disappointed. The ice cream is the best Ive ever had. Most of the flavors are seasonal and most products come from the valley. The cookies are always fresh and just as delicious as the ice cream. If your looking to try something new, please do!
