Super cute ice cream shop owned by the same chick that brought you Junkee and Sippees, with the same mid town eccentric feel youd expect. Heres the draw.... think warm donuts, cut in half, with a huge scoop of your fav ice cream sandwiched in between The decor inside is "Junkee" and hip, without a dirty or dingy feel. The actual ice cream counter portion of the ship is small and quaint. The interesting thing about Simple is that they dont "make" anything they sell. They get their donuts from Doughboy and the ice cream if from Hoch Family Creamery. Amazing novel idea. Rep local products and combine them into your own amazingly decadent idea! Im not normally a "sweets" kinda guy, but we HAD to try out this combo. The "kid" behind the counter was sweet, super helpful and full of fun quips and jokes, and really made the experience. Heres the only Debbie downer if there is one... The donuts are brought in fresh each morning, so if you get there at 8pm like we did, they will be 12+ hours old and it will be slim pickins. The glazed nut I had with my ice cream was warm, and soft, and I chose the "mint chip" ice cream. Heres the catch, be ready to eat....FAST. Warm donuts melt ice cream in a hurry, and I had almost all of my donut eaten before my fiancée even got hers. This place is awesome. If youre in midtown, after a decadent snack, and have taken your diabetes medicine, check em out!

Drove from the end of Sparks with our young daughters and nieces. Walked in at 9:04 while at leasdt 7 other customers present. The girl behind the counter says its closed, closes at 9pm. Pulled up the website that says 10pm. Sorry to inteupt the employee hanging out, but we are paying customers and getting turned away with 4 children is horrible. Place is never stocked when we go; always out of cookies and/or doughnuts. Run out of everything super early. Do not waste your time when you wont get what you want, or get treated horribly and disrespected by children who arent interested in actually working, but just interested in hanging.

I applaud all the local made items like bibo coffee and dough boy donuts and the service and the fun atmosphere. Something seems a little lacking but I cant quite put my finger on it, maybe just too niche that makes the selection of goods very limited and no one star ingredient that makes it shine. Its a gem that really exemplifies midtown though.

Its good, but its a 2 sitting dessert. The ice cream is delicious, they absolutely nail the flavor profiles. Combine that with a doughnut and the amount of sugar is a little overwhelming. I ate a small portion as dessert for a couple days to date my sweet tooth. If you like sweets, dont skip this place. Otherwise make it a multi-day dessert.
